Observe the safety and
operating information
Before using the appliance for
the first time, read and follow these
operating instructions carefully.
Keep these instructions in a safe
place for future reference.
Never allow children or other per-
sons to use the appliance who do
not know the operating instructions.
If the appliance changes ownership,
hand over the operating instructions.
General safety information
– Follow all safety instructions!
If you ignore the safety instruc-
tions, you are endangering
yourself and others.
– Do not use the power tool unless
it is in perfect working order.
If the power tool or a part of it
is defective, it must be repaired
by a technician.
– Do not use the power tool in poten-
tially explosive rooms or near
combustible liquids or gases!
– When the power tool is switched
off, always secure it to prevent
it from being switched on uninten-
tionally.
– Do not use power tools if the
On/Off switch does not function
properly.
– Keep children away from the
power tool! Store the power tool
safely out of the reach of children
and unauthorised persons.
– Do not overload the power tool.
Use the power tool only for the
purposes for which it is designed.
– Always use the required personal
protective equipment.
– Always work with care and only
when in good health: Behave
responsibly. You cannot use the
power tool safely if you are tired,
ill, under the influence of alcohol,
medication or drugs.
– This appliance is not intended
for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and know-
ledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their
safety.
– Children should be supervised
to ensure that they do not play
with the appliance.
– Always observe the valid national
and international safety, health
and work regulations.
– Spare parts and accessories must
satisfy the requirements specified
by the manufacturer.
Therefore use original spare parts
and original accessories only
or spare parts and accessories
authorised by the manufacturer.
– All repair work must be conducted
exclusively at a specialised
garage.
Raynaud’s disease
(vibration white finger)
– The frequent use of vibrating
power tools may damage nerves
in people whose blood circulation
is impaired (e.g. smokers, diabe-
tics). In particular, fingers, hands,
wrists and/or arms may show
some of the following symptoms:
Pain, tingling, stabbing, numb-
ness of body parts, skin turning
pale.
– If you notice unusual impairments,
stop working immediately and
consult a doctor.
You can significantly reduce
the risks by following these
instructions:
– Keep your body, and in particular
your hands, warm in cold weather.
Working with undercooled hands
is the main contributing factor!
– Take regular breaks and move
your hands. This will stimulate
your blood circulation.

Electrical safety
– The power tool may be connected
to a correctly earthed socket only.
– The power tool must be fused with
a residual-current-operated
circuit-breaker which has a rated
residual current of not more than
30 mA.
– Before connecting the power tool,
ensure that the mains connection
corresponds with the connection
data on the power tool
– The power tool may be used only
within the specified voltage and
power limits (see rating plate).
– Do not touch the mains plug with
wet hands! Do not pull out the plug
by tugging the power cord.
– Do not kink, crush, tug or run over
the power cord; protect from sharp
edges, oil and heat.
– Do not lift the power tool by the
power cord or otherwise misuse
the power cord.
– Before using the power tool, al-
ways check the plug and power
cord.
– If the power cord is damaged,
immediately pull out the mains
plug. Never use the power tool
with a damaged power cord.
– When the power tool is not in use,
always pull out the mains plug.
– Before inserting the mains plug,
ensure that the power tool
is switched off.
– Before pulling out the mains plug,
always switch the power tool off.
– Before transporting the power
tool, disconnect it from the power
supply. Pull out mains plug.
– Use only extension cable not
lighter than rubber hose, type
H07RN-F, minimum cross section
3 x 1.5 mm², length: max. 25 m.
– Cables have to be protected
against splashing water.
Maintenance
– Before working on the power tool,
pull out the mains plug.
– Only maintenance and trouble-
shooting which is described here
may be performed. All other work
must be performed by a techni-
cian.
Safety instructions specific
to the power tool
– The power tool must not be used
by young people under the age
of 18 or by users who are not
adequately familiar with the
operation of the power tool.
– Ensure that the power tool is com-
pletely and properly assembled.
– Check that the power tool is in
perfect working order, in particular
that the saw rail is correctly and
securely fitted, that the saw chain
is tensioned properly and that the
chain brake is in perfect working
order.
– Regularly check that all screw-
fittings are tight.
– Before using the power tool, en-
sure that there are no other people
or animals within the working area.
– Ensure that the working area
is free of obstacles.
– Always keep your eye on the
surroundings to prevent your
work from endangering people
or animals.
– There must be no other persons
or animals within a circumference
of 15 m around the cutting area,
as they may be injured by ejected
objects.
– Never work in poor light
or weather conditions.
– Saw wood only.
Do not use the chain saw for work
for which it is not designed.
– Keep the handles dry, clean
and free of oil and grease.
Greasy and oily handles are
slippery and will cause loss
of control.
– Avoid sawing in bushes, as small
branches will stick in the saw
chain and may be ejected
in an uncontrolled manner.
– Ensure that you have a firm and
secure footing in every working
position. Be especially careful
when working on sloping ground!
– Hold the power tool firmly with
both hands. Grip the rear handle
with your right hand and the hand
grip with your left hand, even if you
are left-handed. Do not release
the handles!
– When the saw is running, keep all
body parts away from the saw
chain. Before starting the saw,
ensure that the saw chain touches
nothing.
– Never saw above shoulder height!
Do not bend forwards or lean
backwards!
– Always ensure you have a firm
footing and use the chain saw only
when you are standing on solid,
safe and level ground.
Slippery ground or unsteady
footing, such as on a ladder, may
cause you to lose your balance
or lose control of the chain saw.
– Do not extend your arms too
far forwards.
– Never work on ladders, on trees
or in other positions in which
you do not have a firm footing.
– Caution when moving backwards.
Trip hazard!
– Always saw at a high chain speed.
– Do not saw pieces of wood which
are under tension.
– Do not work alone!
Ensure that you can call, see
or communicate in some other
way with another person who
is able to provide first aid in an
emergency.
– Before putting the power tool
down, ensure that the motor
has been switched off!
– Whenever changing position,
switch the motor off and activate
the chain brake.
Carry the power tool only with the
saw rail pointing backwards and
with the sheath attached.
– Never operate the power tool
in a damp or wet environment.
– Always keep the power cord
away from the working area
of the power tool.
Always guide the power cord
away from the power tool
to the rear.
– Do not use the appliance
in adverse weather conditions,
e.g. if there is a probability
of rain or a storm.

Before all work on this
appliance
To prevent injury, before performing
any work (e.g. maintenance and
adjustments) on this appliance
– Switch OFF the engine.
– wait until all rotating parts have
come to a standstill,
– pull out the mains plug,
– leave motor to cool down
(approx. 30 minutes).
After working with
the appliance
– Before leaving the appliance,
always pull out the mains plug.
– Place sheath on cutting mecha-
nism.

Assembling the appliance
Risk of injury during operation!
Improperly attached parts may
result in extremely serious or fatal
injuries when the power tool
is used! This power tool may only
be switched on when all parts have
been completely and securely
attached and no part is damaged!
– Therefore, read the entire chap-
ter before attaching the parts!
– Attach the parts carefully and
completely.
– Use a tool if specified.
Risk of injury when attaching
parts!
Parts may be attached and
removed only when the motor
has been switched off.
Risk of cuts!
The teeth on the saw chain are
very sharp!
Wear protective gloves when per-
forming any work on the chain.
Risk of injury!
An incorrectly attached saw chain
will cause the power tool to cut
in an uncontrolled manner!
When attaching the chain, observe
the specified running direction!
Attaching saw rail and
saw chain

 Loosen screw (11) on the chain
wheel guard (7) and remove chain
wheel guard.
 Using the tensioning screw (12),
turn the tension bolt (13) forwards.
 Place saw rail (1) with guide
groove (14) on the guide rail (15).
Note
When attaching the chain, ensure
that it is seated correctly in the guide
groove (saw rail).
 Place saw chain (2) around
the chain wheel (16).
Ensure that direction of installation
is correct.
 Place saw chain (2) around
the saw rail (1).
 Attach chain wheel guard (7).
Tighten screw (11) by hand.
Tensioning saw chain

Tighten tensioning screw (12) until
the chain is positioned on the under-
side of the saw rail.
Running in the saw chain
During the running-in time retension
saw chain and rail after a maximum
of five cuts.
Checking the tension
of the saw chain
The chain is correctly tensioned
when the chain is positioned tightly
against the underside of the saw rail
and can be moved easily by hand.
If required, re-adjust the tension
of the saw chain (see section
“Servicing/cleaning”).
Checking the chain brake

The chain brake immediately blocks
the saw chain if a kickback occurs.
Before starting work with the power
tool, check that it is in perfect
working order.
Place power tool on the ground.
 Start the power tool (see section
“Operating safety”).
 Tilt hand guard (4) forwards.
The chain must stop immediately.
If the chain brake does not function,
contact your Service Partner
immediately.
Filling with saw chain oil
Risk of damage to power tool!
Never use waste oil to lubricate the
saw chain! Otherwise the oil pump,
saw rail and chain may be damaged!
Damage to the environment!
As the saw chain oil is released into
the environment during operation,
special biodegradable, plant-based
saw chain oils should be used.

 Place the power tool securely
on the ground with the tank cap (9)
face up.
 Before opening, clean tank cap
and inlet nozzle if required.
 Slowly unscrew tank cap and
remove.
 Carefully pour in saw chain oil.
Do not spill the oil!
Tighten tank cap by hand.
If some saw chain oil was spilled:
Always wipe up oil.
Checking the chain
lubrication
Do not use the power tool without
adequate chain lubrication.
Inadequate lubrication will reduce
the service life of the power tool.
Check amount of oil in the tank.
Start the power tool (see section
“Operating safety”).
Hold running saw chain for some
time approx. 15 cm
above a suitable surface.
If there is adequate chain lubrication,
the oil which is ejected by the saw
chain will form a light trail.

Risk
of electric shock
Use a safety switch on your mains
socket (= residual current operated
device with a release current not
exceeding 30 mA).
Risk of injury!
The power tool may only be
switched on if no faults are found.
If a part is defective, it must be
replaced before the power tool
is used again.
Before starting the power

Check the safety devices and that
the power tool is in a safe state:
Check that all parts are tight.
Check that there are no leaks.
Check whether there are any
visible defects: broken parts,
cracks, etc.
Check that the chain tension
on the power tool is correct.
Check that the chain brake
functions.
Connect to the socket
(230 Volt, 50 Hz)
First connect power cord
to the appliance and then
insert into a 230 V socket.

The power tool starts.
Using the power tool
Before using the power tool,
familiarise yourself thoroughly
with the sawing technique of chain
saws. Information can be found
in the specialist literature.
We recommend attending suitable
training courses.
The information listed here is only
additional!
Correct posture
Risk of injury!
Never work on unstable ground!
Never work above shoulder height!
Never work while standing
on a ladder! Do not bend too far for-
wards when working! Use the power
tool only when the weather con-
ditions and terrain are favourable!
Stand with both legs firmly
on the ground.
Beware of obstructions
in the working area.
When working, always hold
the power tool with both hands!
Hold the power tool:
– with the left hand on the
hand grip.
– with the right hand on the
handle.
– in a balanced position with your
feet firmly on the ground.
This is how to use the saw
correctly!
Risk of injury!
Always switch the motor off before
you put the power tool down!
Look over the working area and
remove any obstructions.
Before starting work, check the
safety of the power tool (see sec-
tion “Before starting the power
tool”).
Pick up the power tool in both
hands as specified.
Risk of kickback!
Kickbacks occur if the upper side
or tip of the saw rail touches wood
or other solid objects.
The device is thrown back towards
the user with great energy, possibly
resulting in extremely serious
injuries.
Risk of injury!
Dangerous kickbacks may occur
when working with the power tool!
Extremely serious to fatal injuries
may be the consequence!
Before starting work with the power
tool, check that the chain brake
is in perfect working order.

Ensure that the area of the saw rail
shown in the diagram does not touch
wood or other solid objects.
To minimise the risk of injury in
the event of a kickback, the power
tool features a chain brake which is
automatically actuated by the kick-
back and immediately stops the
chain.
For reasons of safety always check
that the chain brake functions before
using the power tool.
If kickbacks are less violent, the
chain brake may not be actuated
automatically.
For this reason it is important that
the power tool is held firmly with both
hands.
The risk of a kickback can only
be reliably reduced by employing
a cautious and correct working
method!
Basic working technique
Risk of injury!
This section deals with the basic
working technique when handling
the power tool.
The information given here does
not replace the extensive training
and experience of a specialist.
Avoid any work for which you are
not adequately qualified! Imprudent
handling of the power tool may
result in extremely serious to fatal
injuries!
Before using the power tool
Check that the chain brake
is in perfect working order.
Check the rear hand guard for
damage.
Check that the switch interlock
and start button are in perfect
working order.
Check that all handles are free
of oil.
Check that all parts of the power
tool are present, firmly attached
and undamaged.
Check chain catcher for damage.
Check chain tension.
Sawing technique
Pull stroke sawing

With this technique the underside of
the saw rail saws from top to bottom.
The saw chain pushes the power
tool forwards away from the user.
The front edge of the power tool
forms a support which absorbs the
forces which occur when sawing
on the tree trunk.
In pull stroke sawing the user has
much more control over the power
tool and can better avoid kickbacks.
Therefore this sawing technique
should be used preferably.
Push stroke sawing

With this technique the upper side of
the saw rail saws from bottom to top.
The saw chain pushes the power
tool backwards towards the user.
If the saw rail jams, the power
tool may be thrown back towards
the user with great force.
If the user does not use his physical
strength to compensate for the force
of the saw chain pushing back-
wards, there is a risk that only the tip
of the saw rail will make contact with
the wood and cause a kickback.
Felling a tree
Risk of injury!
Felling and limbing work may be
performed by trained persons only!
There is a risk of life-threatening
injuries!

Before starting felling work,
ensure that:
– there are no unauthorised
persons and no animals within
the fall area (A) of the tree.
– there is an obstacle-free escape
route for all those involved.
People withdraw (B) at an angle
opposite the direction of fall.
– the area around the trunk is free
of obstacles (risk of tripping!).
– the next workplace is at least two
and a half tree lengths away.
Before felling the tree, check the
direction in which the tree will fall
and ensure that there are neither
objects nor persons or animals
within a distance of 2½ tree
lengths.

A tree is felled in two stages:
Notch the trunk by approx. one
third of its diameter on the side
of the direction of fall (1).
On the opposite side make
the felling cut (2) which must
be slightly higher than the notch
(approx. 3–5 cm).
Risk of injury!
Never saw the tree trunk all the way
through. The area (C, Fig. 13)
is used as a "hinge" and provides
a defined direction of fall.
When felling, stand only at the side
of the tree to be felled!
There is a risk of life-threatening
injuries!
Trunks lying flat
on the ground
Cut halfway into the trunk, then
turn around and saw through
from the opposite side.
Damage to power tool!
When sawing through the trunk,
ensure that the saw rail does not
touch the ground!
Supported trunks
We recommend supporting trunks,
which are to be sawn through,
on sawhorses.
If this is not possible, the trunk
should be raised and supported with
the aid of the supporting branches
or via support blocks.

In area A first cut approx. one
third of the trunk diameter from
top to bottom, then complete
the cut from bottom to top.
In area B first cut approx. one
third of the trunk diameter from
bottom to top, then cut through
from the top.
Risk of injury!
Do not saw trunks which are under
tension!
Splintering wood or a jammed saw
rail may result in extremely serious
injuries!
Removing branches
Always work on the side opposite
the branch in question.
Start at the bottom of the trunk
and work upwards.
Always guide the saw from top
to bottom through the wood.
When limbing trunks lying flat
on the ground, first always
saw off the branches pointing
upwards. Do not cut through
supporting branches until
the trunk has been sawn into
lengths.
Risk of injury!
Branches which are supported
or under tension may wedge
the saw chain in the wood!
Servicing/cleaning
Danger
To protect against injury before
all work on the appliance
– Switch OFF the engine
– wait until all rotating parts have
come to a standstill.
– pull out the mains plug
– leave motor to cool down
(approx. 30 minutes).
Wear protective gloves!
In the interest of your own
safety!
Perform only the maintenance work
described here yourself.
All other work, in particular motor
maintenance and repairs, must be
performed by a trained specialist.
Improper work may damage
the power tool and also result
in injuries.
Overview of cleaning and
maintenance
After using the power tool

can damage the materials and
cause malfunctions.

Keep the ventilation slits clean
and dust-free.
Clean the appliance with a damp
cloth and a soft brush.
Cleaning oil guide groove
in the saw rail
Remove saw rail.
Remove dirt from the oil guide
groove using a suitable tool.
(Use a plastic spatula, not a steel
tool!)
Re-attach saw rail.

Retensioning saw chain

Lift saw rail tip slightly.
Tighten tensioning screw for
chain tension (12) until the chain
is positioned tightly against
the underside of the saw rail.

Regrinding saw chain
Special tools are required to
sharpen the saw chain and
guarantee that the blades of the
chain are sharpened at the correct
angle and to the correct depth.
We recommend having the saw
chain reground by specialist.
Transporting the appli-
ance
Using a vehicle
Before transporting the appliance
on or in a vehicle:
Switch off motor and remove
connection cable.
Leave motor to cool down
(approx. 30 minutes).
Place sheath on cutting
mechanism.
Drain chain lubricating oil out
of the power tool.
Secure the power tool against
slipping.
Short distances
Stop the engine.
Pull out mains plug.
Place sheath on cutting
mechanism.
Carry the power tool by the
hand grip.
Identifying and eliminating
malfunctions
Faults which occur while you are
using your appliance often have
simple causes which you should
know and should be able to rectify
yourself to some extent.
In cases of doubt your specialised
garage will be pleased to assist
you further.
Fault/Malfunction
Motor is not running.
Cause
No mains voltage.

Consignes de sécurité
générales
– Veuillez respecter toutes les con-
signes de sécurité ! Si vous ne
respectez pas les consignes
de sécurité, vous exposez autrui
et vous-même à des risques.
– L’appareil ne pourra être utilisé
que s’il se trouve dans un état
impeccable. Si l’appareil ou une
partie de celui-ci sont défectueux,
il faudra le faire remettre en état
par un spécialiste.
– N’utilisez pas l’appareil dans
des locaux à risque d’explosion
ou à proximité de liquides inflam-
mables ou de gaz !
– Éteignez l’appareil et sécurisez-le
pour empêcher un rallumage
involontaire.
– N’utilisez pas d’appareil sur lequel
l’interrupteur Marche-Arrêt ne
fonctionne pas correctement.
– Éloignez les enfants de l’appareil!.
Conservez l’appareil hors
de portée des enfants et des

fatigué, malade, sous l’empire de
l’alcool et de drogues, sous l’effet
de médicaments, utiliser l’appareil
devient un acte irresponsable

en servir de manière sûre.
– Cet appareil n’est pas destiné
à l’usage par des personnes
(enfants compris) présentant des
aptitudes physiques, sensorielles
ou intellectuelles restreintes,
ou qui manquent de l’expérience

Syndrome de Raynaud
(« maladie des doigts
blancs »)
– L’utilisation fréquente d’appareils
vibrants peut lésionner les nerfs
chez les personnes souffrant de
troubles vasomoteurs (fumeurs,
diabétiques par exemple).
En particulier les doigts, les
mains, les poignets et/ou les
bras présentent entre autres les
symptômes suivants, certains
toutefois peuvent ne pas se
présenter : douleurs, « fourmis »,
piquées, endormissement de par-
ties du corps, pâleur de la peau.
– Si vous noter une gêne inhabi-
tuelle, cessez immédiatement
le travail et rendez-vous chez
un médecin.
Vous pouvez réduire nettement
les risques si vous respectez
les consignes suivantes :
– Si le temps est froid, maintenez
votre corps et en particulier
les mains au chaud. Les travaux
avec des mains trop froides sont
le principal déclencheur !
– Faites des pauses régulières
et déplacez vos mains pendant
ce temps. Ces mouvements pro-
meuvent l’irrigation sanguine.
Sécurité électrique
– L’appareil ne pourra être raccordé
qu’à une prise équipée d’un
contact de terre réglementaire-
ment installé.
– La protection doit être assurée
par un disjoncteur différentiel
réagissant à une intensité nomi-
nale non supérieure à 30 mA.
– Avant de raccorder l’appareil,
il faut vous s’assurer que les para-
mètres du secteur concordent
avec les données de raccorde-
ment de l’appareil.
– L’appareil ne doit être utilisé que
dans les fourchettes de tension
et de puissance étroites indiquées
(voir la plaque signalétique).
– Ne saisissez jamais la fiche mâle
avec les mains mouillées !
Pour débrancher la fiche mâle,
saisissez toujours cette dernière,
ne tirez jamais le câble.
– Ne pliez, et n’écrasez pas le câble,
ne le tirez pas fortement et ne
roulez pas dessus ; protégez-le
des arêtes vives, de l’huile et
de la chaleur.
– Ne soulevez pas l’appareil par
le câble et n’utilisez pas le câble
à des fins qui n’ont pas été
prévues.
– Avant chaque utilisation, contrôlez
toujours la fiche mâle et le câble.
– Si le câble de secteur a été en-
dommagé, débranchez immédia-
tement la fiche mâle de la prise
de courant.
N’utilisez jamais l’appareil si le
câble de secteur est endommagé.
– Lorsque l’appareil ne sert pas,
sa fiche mâle doit toujours être
débranchée de la prise.
– Avant de brancher la fiche mâle,
vérifiez bien que l’appareil est
éteint.
– Éteignez toujours l’appareil avant
de débrancher la fiche mâle.
– Avant de transporter l’appareil,
mettez-le toujours hors tension.
Débrancher la fiche mâle de
la prise secteur.
– N’utiliser que des rallonges plus
légères qu’un tuyau de caoutc-
houc, du type : H07RN-F, coupe
transversale mini. de 3 x 1,5 mm²,
longueur maxi. de 25 m.
– Protéger les câbles contre les
projections d’eau.
Entretien
– Avant d’effectuer tous travaux sur
l’appareil, débranchez sa fiche
mâle de la prise de courant.
– Seuls pourront être réalisés les
travaux de maintenance et suppri-
més les dérangements décrits ici.
Tous les autres travaux devront
être réalisés par un spécialiste.

raccords à vis sont fermement
en assise.
– Avant de l’utiliser, vérifiez
qu’aucune autre personne
et aucun animal ne séjournent
dans la zone de travail.
– Assurez-vous que la zone de
travail est exempte d’obstacles.
– Surveillez en permanence votre
périmètre de travail pour être
sûr(e) que votre travail n’expose
aucune personne et aucun animal
à des risques.
– Aucune autre personne ni aucun
animal ne doit se trouver à moins
de 15 mètres de vous car ils
risqueraient d’être blessés par
des objets catapultés.
– Ne travaillez jamais dans des con-
ditions d’éclairage ou météorologi-
ques mauvaises.
– Ne sciez que du bois. N’affectez
pas la tronçonneuse à des travaux
auxquels elle n’est pas destinée.
– Maintenez les poignées au sec,
propres et exemptes d’huile et de
graisse. Les poignées couvertes
de graisse ou d’huile deviennent
glissantes et risquent de vous
faire perdre le contrôle.
– Évitez de scier dans des buissons
car de petites branches risquent
de se prendre dans la chaîne et
d’être catapultées aux alentours
de manière incontrôlable.
– Veillez bien à vous tenir ferme-
ment d’aplomb dans toute position
de travail. Soyez particulièrement
prudents si la surface sur laquelle
vous vous tenez est en pente !
– Tenez toujours l’appareil ferme-
ment, avec les deux mains.
Avec la main droite, saisissez
la poignée arrière et avec
la gauche la poignée étrier, et ceci
même si vous êtes gaucher.
Ne lâchez pas les poignées !

– Pendant que la tronçonneuse
fonctionne, éloignez toutes les
parties du corps de cette dernière.
Avant de faire démarrer la tron-
çonneuse, vérifiez bien que la
chaîne de sciage ne touche rien.
– Ne tronçonnez jamais à une
hauteur supérieure à celle des
épaules. Ne vous penchez
ni en avant ni en arrière !
– Veillez à toujours vous tenir bien
d’aplomb et n’utilisez la tronçon-
neuse que si vous vous trouvez
sur une surface dure, sûre et
plane. Si la surface sur laquelle
vous vous tenez est glissante
ou instable (échelle par exemple),
vous risquez de perdre l’équilibre
ou le contrôle de la tronçonneuse.
– Ne tendez pas les bras trop
en avant.
– Ne travaillez jamais sur des
échelles, des arbres ou dans
d’autres positions dans lesquelles
vous ne pouvez pas vous tenir
d’aplomb.
– Attention lorsque vous vous
déplacez à reculons.
Risque de trébucher !
– Tronçonnez toujours à une
vitesse de chaîne élevée.
– Ne sciez jamais des pièces en
bois se trouvant sous tension.
– Ne travaillez jamais seul !
Assurez-vous de rester à portée
de voix, dans le champ de vision
ou en liaison quelconque avec
une autre personne qui en cas
d’urgence sera en mesure
d’apporter les premiers secours.
– Avant de déposer l’appareil, il faut
toujours éteindre le moteur et
attendre son immobilisation.
– Avant chaque changement
de site, éteignez le moteur
et activez le frein de chaîne.
Il ne faut porter l’appareil qu’avec
le guide scie regardant en arrière
et après avoir enfilé la housse
protectrice.
– Ne faites jamais fonctionner
l’appareil dans un environnement
humide ou mouillé.
– Éloignez toujours le câble d’ali-
mentation de la zone de travail
de l’appareil.
Le câble doit toujours s’éloigner
par l’arrière de l’appareil.
– N’utilisez pas l’appareil par
mauvais temps (p. ex. lorsqu’il
y a risque de pluie ou d’orage).
Avant d’effectuer tout travail
sur l’appareil
Pour vous protéger contre le risque
de blessures avant tous travaux sur
cet appareil (par exemple travaux
de maintenance et de réglage)
– stoppez le moteur,
– attendez que toutes les pièces
mobiles se soient immobilisées,
– débranchez la fiche mâle de
la prise de secteur,
– laissez le moteur refroidir

Vérifier le frein de chaîne

Le frein de chaîne veille à un blo-
cage immédiat de la chaîne en cas
de recul brutal. Avant d’entamer le
travail avec l’appareil, il faut vérifier
s’il fonctionne impeccablement
Posez l’appareil sur le sol.
Faites démarrer l’appareil
(voir la section « Utilisation »).
Basculez la protection des mains
(4) en avant. La chaîne doit
immédiatement stopper.
Si le frein de chaîne ne fonctionne
pas, contactez immédiatement
un partenaire du SAV.
Faire le plein d’huile
de chaîne
Risque d’endommager
l’appareil !
Pour lubrifier la chaîne de sciage,
n’utilisez en aucun cas de l’huile
usagée !
Elle endommagerait la pompe
à huile, le guide-scie et la chaîne.
Pollution de l’environnement!
Vu que pendant le tronçonnage
l’huile de chaîne pénètre dans
l’environnement, il faut utiliser
des huiles de chaîne spéciales,
biodégradables et sur base
végétale.

Déposez l’appareil dans une
position sûre, avec le bouchon
(9) du réservoir regardant vers
le haut.
Avant d’ouvrir, nettoyez le cas
échéant le bouchon et l’orifice
de remplissage.
Dévissez lentement le bouchon
du réservoir et retirez-le.
Faites prudemment le plein
d’huile de chaîne de sciage.
Veillez à ne pas verser d’huile
à côté !
Vissez le bouchon du réservoir
à fond à la main.
Si un peu d’huile de chaîne
de sciage a été renversé :
Essuyez impérativement
cette huile.
Vérifier la lubrification
de la chaîne
Il ne faut jamais utiliser l’appareil
sans lubrification suffisante.
Une lubrification insuffisante réduit
la durée de vie de l’appareil.
Vérifiez la quantité d’huile
présente dans le réservoir.
Faites démarrer l’appareil
(voir la section « Utilisation »).
Tenez la chaîne de sciage
un certain temps
environ 15 cm au dessus
d’une surface adéquate.
Si la lubrification de la chaîne est
suffisante, l’huile projetée par
la chaîne de sciage laisse une
légère trace.

Protégez la prise femelle de sec-
teur avec un disjoncteur différentiel
(= disjoncteur disjonctant dès qu’il
perçoit une différence d’intensité
de 30 mA maximum).

Il ne faut mettre l’appareil en ser-
vice que si aucun défaut n’a été
trouvé. Si une pièce est défec-
tueuse, il faut impérativement
la remplacer avant l’utilisation
suivante.
Avant de démarrer
Vérifiez les dispositifs de sécurité
et que l’appareil se trouve dans
un état sûr :
Vérifiez que toutes les pièces
sont fermement en assise.
Vérifiez l’absence de toute fuite.
Vérifiez la présence de défauts
visibles : pièces cassées, fissu-
res, etc.
Sur l’appareil, vérifiez si la
chaîne est correctement tendue.
Vérifiez le fonctionnement
du frein de chaîne.
Branchement à une prise
de courant (230 Volt, 50 Hz)
Raccordez le câble d’abord
à l’appareil et ensuite seulement
branchez-le dans une prise
de secteur en 230 V.

Il faut que la protection des mains
(4) soit basculée vers l’arrière.
 Appuyez sur le cran anti-enclen-
chement (5).
 Appuyez sur le bouton de démar-

L’appareil démarre.

– Saisissez la poignée étrier avec
la main gauche,
– Saisissez la poignée avec
la main droite.
– En équilibre dans une position
sûre.

Comme ceci, vous sciez
correctement !

Éteignez toujours le moteur avant
de lâcher l’appareil !
Examinez la zone de travail
et retirez les corps étrangers.
Au début du travail, vérifiez
la sécurité de l’appareil (voir la
section « Avant de démarrer »).
Saisissez l’appareil avec les
deux mains, comme prescrit.
Risque de recul brutal !
Les reculs brutaux se produisent
lorsque le côté supérieur ou l’extré-
mité du guide-scie touchent du bois
ou d’autres objets durs.
Dans ce cas-là, l’appareil est
violemment propulsé en direction
de l’utilisateur, ce qui peut provo-
quer des blessures très graves.
Risque de blessures !
Pendant les travaux avec l’appa-
reil, des reculs dangereux peuvent
se produire !
Conséquences possibles : des
blessures très graves voire mortel-
les ! Avant d’entamer le travail avec
l’appareil, il faut vérifier si le frein de
chaîne fonctionne impeccablement.

Évitez absolument que la zone
illustrée du guide-scie touche
du bois ou d’autres objets durs.
Pour réduire le risque de blessures
en cas de recul, l’appareil est équipé
d’un frein de chaîne qui se serre
immédiatement sous l’effet du choc
et qui stoppe instantanément
la chaîne.
Pour des raisons de sécurité, il faut
vérifier le bon fonctionnement
du frein de chaîne avant chaque
utilisation de l’appareil.
Si des reculs un peu moins brutaux
se produisent, il peut arriver que
le frein de chaîne ne se déclenche
pas automatiquement.
D’où l’importance de tenir ferme-
ment l’appareil avec les deux mains.
Seule une manière de travailler
circonspecte et correcte peut réduire
de manière fiable le risque de recul
brutal!

Cette section traite de la technique
de travail fondamentale pendant
l’utilisation de l’appareil.
Les informations indiquées ici ne
remplacent pas les nombreuses
années de formation et d’expé-
rience d’un spécialiste.
Évitez tout travail pour lequel vous
ne détenez pas de qualification
suffisante! Un maniement irréfléchi
de l’appareil peut provoquer
des blessures très graves voire
mortelles !
Avant chaque utilisation
Vérifiez que le frein de chaîne
fonctionne impeccablement.
Vérifiez si la protection arrière
des mains est endommagée.
Vérifiez que le cran anti-
enclenchement et le bouton
de démarrage fonctionnent
impeccablement.
Vérifiez l’absence d’huile sur
toutes les poignées.
Vérifiez que toutes les pièces
de l’appareil sont présentes,
fermement montées et non
endommagées.
Vérifiez si l’intercepteur
de chaîne est endommagé.
Vérifiez la tension de la chaîne.
Technique de sciage

Dans cette technique, le sciage
à lieu de haut en bas avec le côté
inférieur du guide-scie.
Dans ce cas, la chaîne de sciage tire
l’appareil en avant et tend donc
à l’éloigner de l’utilisateur.
Ce faisant, l’arête avant de l’appareil
forme un appui qui pendant le
sciage intercepte les forces engen-
drées au niveau du tronc d’arbre.
Dans le sciage tirant, l’utilisateur
a un contrôle nettement meilleur
de l’appareil et peut mieux éviter
les reculs brutaux. Pour cette raison,
il faudrait utiliser de préférence cette
technique de sciage.

Dans cette technique, le sciage
a lieu de bas en haut avec le côté
supérieur du guide-scie.
Dans ce cas, la chaîne de sciage
pousse l’appareil en arrière en
direction de l’utilisateur.
Si le guide-scie se coince, l’appareil
risque d’être violemment catapulté
en direction de l’utilisateur.
Si l’utilisateur ne compense pas
avec sa force physique la force qui
pousse la tronçonneuse en arrière,
il y a risque que seule la pointe
du guide-scie soit en contact avec
le bois et qu’un recul brutal se
produise.
Abattage d’un arbre
Risque de blessures !
Les travaux d’abattage et d’ébran-
chage ne pourront être réalisés que
par des personnes formées.
Vous encourez des blessures
synonymes d’un danger de mort !

Avant d’entamer les travaux
d’abattage, assurez-vous que :
– Aucune personne étrangère aux
activités et aucun animal ne sé-
journe sur la zone d’abattage (A)
de l’arbre.
– Chaque participant puisse s’éloig-
ner d’urgence sans rencontrer
d’obstacles. Les personnes qui
reculent (B) d’urgence doivent
le faire en biais par rapport
à la direction opposée à celle
de l’abattage.
– La zone tout autour du tronc
est exempte d’obstacles (risque
de trébucher!).
– Le poste de travail le plus proche
se trouve au minimum à deux
longueurs et demie d’arbre.
Avant l’abattage, il faut vérifier
dans quelle direction l’arbre
va tomber, et s’assurer qu’à une
distance de 2,5 longueurs d’arbre
ne se trouve aucun objet ni
aucune personne ou animal.
