IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNINGS & INSTRUCTIONS
GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS & INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or
serious injury.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, the battery charger has a polarized plug (one
blade is wider than the other) and will require the use of a polarized extension cord.
The plug will only fit into a polarized extension cord one way. If the plug does not fit
fully into the extension cord, reverse the plug. If the plug still does not fit, obtain a
correct polarized extension cord. A polarized extension cord will require the use of a
polarized wall outlet. This plug will only fit into the polarized wall outlet one way. If the
plug does not fit fully into the wall outlet, reverse the plug. If the plug still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician to install the proper wall outlet. Do not change the equip-
ment plug, extension cord receptacle, or extension cord plug in any way.

FOR BATTERY-OPERATED APPLIANCE:
• To prevent unintentional starting, ensure the switch is in the off-position before
connecting the battery to the motor unit. Carrying the appliance with your finger on the
switch or that has the switch on may cause accidents.
• Disconnect the battery from the motor unit before disassembling the blower tube, or
storing the appliance. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the
appliance accidentally.
• Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. Using an unsuitable
charger creates a fire risk.
• When the battery is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects like paper clips,
coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that may connect one terminal
to another.
• The charge of the battery will diminish, even when not used. We, therefore, recom-
mend regular charging, e.g. every four to six months.
• Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
• Under extreme conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If
contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
• Do not use a battery or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified
batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of
injury.
• Do not expose the battery or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to
fire or temperature above 140°F / 60°C may cause an explosion.
• Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replace-
ment parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.
