To disperse the initial burning smell, operate the toaster twice (or until the odor
disappears) on Setting 1 with no bread. Once this step has been completed, do
not use the toaster without bread slices occupying toaster slots as overheating
may occur.
FIRST USE
When the toaster is plugged in and operating for the first time, there may be a
slight burning odor as the heating elements warm up. This represents no danger
to the user and does not indicate a defect in the appliance.

You can toast any type of sliced bread that will fit easily into the bread slots. Most
types of breads and pastries can be toasted, such as bagels, tea cakes, thickly sliced
breads, English muffins, etc.
You can toast a single slice in either of the bread slots or toast four slices at once by
using both slots.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Never attempt to force any oversize item into the toaster slots.
Never attempt to toast any item that is not bread-based.
Never toast any bread item that has been spread with butter or any type of
spread or topping.

HOW TO USE
WARNING: Never operate the toaster without the Crumb Tray in place.
Toasting Bread
Place the toaster on a flat surface and plug it
into a power outlet.
Place slices of bread in the Bread Slots. Make
sure that multiple slices do not overlap.
Choose the desired browning setting with the
Browning Control Dial (more information on the
browning control setting in the next section of
this manual).
To start the toasting process, press down the
Loading Lever until it locks into place. The Lever
will not lock if the toaster is not plugged into a
power source. The CANCEL button and the LED
display will illuminate - the LED display will
initially show the Browning Control setting, and
then it will start to count down the remaining
toasting time.

When toasting has finished, the Loading Lever
will rapidly rise to the fully raised position, and
both the CANCEL button and the LED display will
turn off. The toasted bread can now be removed.
NOTE: Toasting can be stopped at any time by
pressing the CANCEL button. This will cancel the
operation, and the Loading Lever will move to the
raised position.
WARNING: Never attempt to remove bread while
it is toasting; always press the CANCEL button
first.

Browning Control
The browning control regulates how much the bread is toasted - in other words, the
color of the toast. Lower settings produce lighter toast, and higher settings produce
darker toast. There are 6 settings for the browning control, and each of them has a
predefined toasting time, as shown in the table below:
BROWNING
CONTROL SETTING
DURATION
OF TOASTING
COLOR OF THE TOAST
1 2 3 4 5 6
90s 110s 130s 150s 170s 190s
LIGHT GOLDEN DARK
Remember that dry or thin slices will toast quicker than moist or thick slices.
Using a lower browning control setting for thinner slices is recommended.
When toasting four slices at the same time, try to use the same size and consis-
tency of bread to achieve equal browning.
For more tips on toasting, refer to the “TOASTING TIPS” section of this manual.

Reheating Bread
If you want to reheat cold toasted bread, place slices of bread in the
Bread Slots, press the Loading Lever down, and then press the
REHEAT button. The REHEAT button and the LED display will be
illuminated. When the reheat function has been selected, a short
time cycle will warm up your toast without burning it.
Toasting Frozen Bread
Your toaster can defrost your frozen food and then toast it. Now you can take a
frozen bagel out of the freezer and defrost and toast it – all in your toaster – all in
one easy step.
Place slices of frozen bread in the Bread Slots.
Set the Browning Control Dial to the desired setting and press
the Loading Lever down. The Lever will not lock if the toaster is
not plugged into a power source.
PRESS the DEFROST button. The DEFROST button will light.
Reminder: Toasting can be stopped at any time by pressing the CANCEL button.
Note: If you want to switch to the REHEAT function while the DEFROST function is
selected, you have to cancel the toasting first, press the Loading Lever down again,
and select the REHEAT function.
The default reheat time is 30 seconds, regardless of which browning control setting
is selected.
Reminder: Toasting can be stopped at any time by pressing the CANCEL button.
Note: If you want to switch to the DEFROST function while the REHEAT function is
selected, you have to cancel the toasting first, press the Loading Lever down again,
and select the DEFROST function.

Here are the recommended settings for the browning control when defrosting &
toasting your food (feel free to adjust to your personal preference):
Setting 1-2:
Setting 3-4:
Setting 5-6:
For refrigerated breads and thinner frozen items such as frozen
pancakes.
For toaster pastries, frozen waffles and (thin) French toast, and refriger-
ated bagels.
For thicker frozen items such as bagels, hand-cut bread, and thick
French toast.
Warming Rack
The food that cannot be placed inside the Bread Slots (e.g.bread rolls, loaves,
baguettes, croissants) can be warmed on the Warming Rack.
To use the Warming Rack, press down the
Warming Rack Lever located on the back of the
toaster, and the rack will instantly pop-up where
you can place your breads, buns, or pastries that
you'd like warmed up.
Press the Loading Lever down like you normally
would when toasting something, and you can
warm your pastries up. Rotate the food halfway
through to ensure that it is equally warmed up.
If you do not wish to use the Warming Rack
anymore, wait for the Warming Rack to cool
completely, lift the Warming Rack Lever, and the
rack will pop down.
Note that more time is required to achieve the
desired degree of browning when using the
Warming Rack. If you want only to warm up the
fresh bread, we recommend using browning
setting 1-3. If the food you are warming is frost-
ed, we recommend using browning setting the
4-5.
WARNING: Never place aluminum foil on the Warm-
ing Rack.
DANGER: Never use the warming rack and toast at
the same time, as this can result in a fire!

TOASTING TIPS
Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying the bread. Therefore, differences in
moisture level from one bread to another can result in varying toasting times:
For slightly dry bread, use a lower browning setting.
For fresh bread or whole wheat, use a higher browning setting.
Breads with very uneven surfaces will require a higher browning setting.
Thickly cut pieces of bread (including crumpets) may take significantly longer
to toast since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toast-
ing can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles.
When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose raisins from the
surface of the bread before placing into the toaster. This will help prevent
pieces from falling into the toaster, sticking on the guard wire in the slot, or
burning inside the toaster
Before toasting bagels, slice each bagel into two equal halves.
Uneven toasting is usually due to bread slices of uneven thickness.
CLEANING AND MAINTAINANCE
Always unplug the toaster from the power outlet and allow it to cool down
completely before maintenance and cleaning.
DO NOT immerse the unit in water or other liquids.
DO NOT use abrasive cloths or cleaning agents.
Wipe the outside of the toaster with a damp cloth and then dry it with another
cloth or paper towel.
Wipe the surface on the top of the bread slots with a damp cloth and dry it with
another cloth or paper towel.

The removable crumb tray catches crumbs that drop from the bread as it is toasted.
The Crumb Tray should be emptied regularly to avoid the build-up of crumbs that
could catch fire.
To remove crumbs, first lightly tap the sides of
the toaster to dislodge any crumbs caught in the
toasting chamber. Then slide out the Crumb Tray
and empty it.
To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the
toaster, turn the toaster upside down over a
trash bin and gently shake. Any additional debris
or crumbs should fall out.
You can also use a clean and dry pastry brush to
reach any crumbs still clinging to the interior of
the toaster.
Wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
Make sure to put the Crumb Tray back into the toaster before using the toaster
again. Replace the crumb tray by sliding it inwards until it locks into position.
WARNING: Do not use any pointed or sharp articles for cleaning the inside of the
toaster; this may damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard.
WARNING: Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place.
Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
