the following:
Read all instructions before using this toaster.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge
unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appli-
ance by a person responsible for their safety.
Keep all packaging materials, including any plastics out of reach of children.
Close supervision is necessary when this toaster is used by or near children.
Before connecting the power plug to a power socket, make sure that the voltage on
the rating label corresponds to the voltage in the power socket to which you wish
to connect it.
Never operate this toaster if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working prop-
erly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped in water.
Never try to disassemble, repair, or remodel the toaster. There is a danger of fire or
malfunction, which may cause injury. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
If in need of repair, please contact Mueller customer service.
Do not connect or disconnect the power plug with wet hands. This may result in
electric shock.
To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or toaster in
water or other liquid. Do not let any water or other liquid enter the appliance to
prevent electric shock.
Do not place the toaster on or near a hot gas or electric burner. Always place the
toaster on heat-resilient surfaces.
Bread can burn. Do not use the toaster near flammable materials. Do not place the
toaster close to curtains or other materials that could easily catch fire. The toaster
should not be left unattended when in operation.
Do not place the toaster on top of any other appliance.
The toaster should not be operated within a cupboard or close to a wall as scorch-
ing of the cupboard may occur.
Never cover the toaster with anything while operating. This will cause the toaster to
overheat, causing irreparable damage. If covered, the toaster and/or items covering
the toaster may catch fire.
Do not let the toaster's power cord hang over the edge of a table or benchtop or
touch any hot surface.
Unplug the toaster from the outlet when the appliance is not in use, before empty-
ing the crumb tray, and before cleaning.
Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
Wait for the toaster to cool down before moving. Carry only by the outer side
panels. Never lift the toaster by placing your fingers inside or near the bread slot.
It is important not to allow the crumbs to build up inside the toaster, as this may
cause a fire hazard. Clean the crumb tray regularly.
Do not touch the hot surfaces of the toaster.
Never touch the inside of the appliance while it is operating.
Never force bread into the bread slots. Don’t insert oversized, thick, bent, damaged,
or torn bread slices in your toaster as they may get jammed in the slot.
Never toast slices of bread that have been pre-buttered.
Never attempt to remove bread or other items that have become jammed in the
slots without first unplugging the toaster from the mains supply. Allow to cool
completely before removal.
Never use a knife or any metal or sharp object to remove jammed bread. This may
damage the internal mechanism or heating elements.
Do not use outdoors or under direct sunshine.
For household use only.
Ensure that the toaster is located out of the reach of children.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FIRST USE
When the toaster is plugged in and operating for the first time, there may be a
slight burning odor as the heating elements warm up. This represents no danger
to the user and does not indicate a defect in the appliance.
To disperse the initial burning smell, operate the toaster twice (or until the odor
disappears) on Browing Control Setting 1 with no bread. Once this step has been
completed, do not use the toaster without bread slices occupying bread slots as
overheating may occur.
Rotate the Browing Control Dial to your desired
browning setting (for more information on the brown-
ing control setting, please refer to the “Browning
Control” section of this manual).

Which food items can be toasted?
You can toast any type of sliced bread that will fit easily into the bread slots. Most
types of breads and pastries can be toasted, such as artisan bread, multigrain,
waffles, crumpets, tea cakes, English muffins, etc.
You can toast a single slice in either of the bread slots or toast two slices at once
using both slots.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Never attempt to force any oversize item into the bread slots.
Never attempt to toast any item that is not bread-based.
Never toast any bread item that has been spread with butter or any other type
of spread or topping.

toast them. This feature activates additional toasting time to each of the 1-7 brown-
ing settings.

Set the Browning Control Dial to the desired setting (1-7) and then press the
Loading Lever down. The Lever will not lock if the toaster is not plugged into a

Reheating Bread
If you want to reheat cold toasted bread, place slices of
bread in the Bread Slots, set the Browning Control Dial to
“R”, and press the Loading Lever down.
Note: When the reheat function has been selected, a short
time cycle of 30 seconds will warm up your toast without
burning it.
Reminder: Reheating can be stopped at any time by
pressing the CANCEL button.

5
Browning Control
The browning control regulates to what degree the bread is toasted - in other words,
the color of the toast. Lower settings produce lighter toast, and higher settings
produce darker toast. There is a total of 8 settings for the browning control, and each
of them has a predefined toasting time, as shown in the table below:
BROWNING
CONTROL SETTING
DURATION
OF TOASTING
COLOR OF THE TOAST
80s 100s 120s 140s 160s 180s
LIGHT GOLDEN DARK
7
Remember that dry or thin slices will toast quicker than moist or thick slices.
Using a lower browning control setting for thinner slices is recommended.
When toasting two slices at the same time, try to use the same size and consisten-
cy of bread to achieve equal browning.
For more tips on toasting, refer to the “TOASTING TIPS” section of this manual.
TOASTING TIPS
Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying the bread. Therefore, differences in
moisture levels from one bread type to another can result in varying toasting times:
For slightly dry bread, use a lower browning setting.
For fresh bread or whole wheat, use a higher browning setting.
Breads with very uneven surfaces will require a higher browning setting.
Thickly cut pieces of bread/baked goods (including crumpets) may take signifi-
cantly longer to toast since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread
before toasting can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles.
When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose raisins from the
surface of the bread before placing into the toaster. This will help prevent
pieces from falling into the toaster, sticking on the guard wire in the slot, or
burning inside the toaster.
Uneven toasting is usually due to bread slices of uneven thickness.

Wipe the surface on the top of the bread slots with a damp cloth and dry it with
another cloth or paper towel.
The removable crumb tray catches crumbs that drop from the bread as it is toasted.
The Crumb Tray should be emptied regularly to avoid the build-up of crumbs that
could catch fire.
To remove crumbs, first lightly tap the sides of the
toaster to dislodge any crumbs caught in the toasting
chamber. Then slide out the Crumb Tray and empty it.
To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the
toaster, turn the toaster upside down over a trash bin
and gently shake. Any additional debris or crumbs
should fall out.
You can also use a clean and dry pastry brush to
reach any crumbs still clinging to the interior of the
toaster.
WARNING: Do not use any pointed or sharp articles for cleaning the inside of the
toaster; this may damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard.
Wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse in
water.
Make sure to put the Crumb Tray back into the toaster before using the toaster
again. Replace the crumb tray by sliding it inwards until it locks into position.
WARNING: Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place.
