IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1
When using an electrical appliance, basic safety should always be followed,
including the following:
• Read all instructions before using this toaster.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowl-
edge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Before connecting the power plug to a power socket, make sure that the voltage
on the rating label corresponds to the voltage in the power socket to which you
wish to connect it.
• Never operate this toaster if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working
properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped in water.
• Never try to disassemble, repair, or remodel the toaster. There is a danger of
fire or malfunction, which may cause injury. Do not attempt to repair the appliance
yourself. If in need of repair, please contact Mueller customer service.
• Do not connect or disconnect the power plug with wet hands. This may result in
electric shock.
• To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse the cord, plug, or toaster in
water or other liquid. Do not let any water or other liquid enter the appliance to
prevent electric shock.
• Do not place the toaster on or near a hot gas or electric burner. Always place
the toaster on heat-resilient surfaces.
• Bread can burn. Do not use the toaster near flammable materials. Do not place
the toaster close to curtains or other materials that could easily catch fire. The
toaster should not be left unattended when in operation.
• Do not place the toaster on top of any other appliance.
• The toaster should not be operated within a cupboard or close to a wall as
scorching of the cupboard may occur.
• Never cover the toaster with anything while operating. This will cause the toast-
er to overheat, causing irreparable damage. If covered, the toaster and/or items
covering the toaster may catch fire.
• Do not let the toaster's power cord hang over the edge of a table or benchtop
or touch any hot surface.

CAUTION: HOT SURFACE!
The temperature of all surfaces will be very hot when the appliance is used and
after use. Do not touch these surfaces as possible injury could occur. Allow to cool
down completely before handling this appliance.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS,
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
• Unplug the toaster from the outlet when the appliance is not in use, before emp-
tying the crumb tray, and before cleaning.
• Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Wait for the toaster to cool down before moving. Carry only by the outer side
panels. Never lift the toaster by placing your fingers inside or near the bread slot.
• It is important not to allow the crumbs to build up inside the toaster, as this may
cause a fire hazard. Clean the crumb tray regularly.
• Do not touch the hot surfaces of the toaster.
• Never touch the inside of the appliance while it is operating.
• Never force bread into the toasting slots. Don’t use oversized, extra-thick, bent,
damaged, or torn bread slices in your toaster as it may get jammed in the slot.
• Never toast slices of bread that have been buttered.
• Never attempt to remove bread or other items that have become jammed in the
slots without first unplugging the toaster from the mains supply. Allow to cool com-
pletely before removal.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FIRST USE
• Remove any bags, protective foil and other packaging from the appliance
before initial use.
• Wipe down the exterior of the toaster with a damp cloth and thoroughly dry
before use.
IMPORTANT: When the toaster is plugged in and operating for the first
time, there may be a slight burning odor as the heating elements warm up.
This represents no danger to the user and does not indicate a defect in the
appliance.
• To disperse the initial burning smell, operate the toaster twice (or until the odor
disappears) on Browning Level 1 with no bread. Once this step has been complet-
ed, do not use the toaster without bread slices occupying toaster slots as over-
heating may occur.
Which food items can be toasted?
You can toast any type of sliced bread that will fit easily into the bread slots. Most
types of breads and pastries can be toasted, such as bagels, tea cakes, thickly
sliced breads, English muffins, etc.
You can toast a single slice in either of the bread slots or toast four slices at once
by using both slots.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• Never attempt to force any oversize item into the toaster slots.
• Never attempt to toast any item that is not bread-based.
• Never toast any bread item that has been spread with butter or any type of
spread or topping.
• Never use the toaster for more than 60 minutes in a 2 hour period to avoid over-
heating.

level, keep pressing the Brown-
ing Level Button until you reach
the desired browning level. Once
selected, the browning level will
be saved for future toasting
unless manually changed again
(More information on the brown-
ing levels in the next section of
this manual).

5. When toasting has finished,
the Loading Lever will rapidly rise
to the fully raised position, and
both the Power Indicator light and
the LED display will turn off. The
toasted bread can now be
removed.
The Browning Level Button regulates how much the bread is toasted - in other
words, the color of the toast. Lower settings produce lighter toast, and higher
settings produce darker toast. There are 6 browning level settings. The approxi-
mate predefined toasting times are shown in the table below:
• Remember that dry or thin slices will toast quicker than moist or thick slices.
• Using a lower browning level for thinner slices is recommended.
• When toasting four slices at the same time, try to use the same size and
consistency of bread to achieve equal browning.
• For more tips on toasting, refer to the “TOASTING TIPS” section of this
manual.

Here are the recommended brown-
ing levels when defrosting & toasting
your food (feel free to adjust to your
personal preference):
Levels 1-2: For refrigerated breads
and thinner frozen items such as frozen
pancakes.
Levels 3-4: For toaster pastries,
frozen waffles and (thin) French toast,
and refrigerated bagels.
Levels 5-6: For thicker frozen items
such as bagels, hand-cut bread, and
thick French toast.
The Defrost feature activates additional time to defrost the bread before toast-
ing. The approximate predefined toasting times are shown in the table.
Reminder: Toasting can be stopped at any time by pressing the Cancel/Eject
Button.
TOASTING TIPS
Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying the bread. Therefore, differenc-
es in moisture level from one bread to another can result in varying toasting times:
• For slightly dry bread, use a lower browning setting.
• For fresh bread or whole wheat, use a higher browning setting.
• Breads with very uneven surfaces will require a higher browning setting.
• Thickly cut pieces of bread (including crumpets) may take significantly longer to
toast since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting can
occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles.
• When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose raisins from the
surface of the bread before placing into the toaster. This will help prevent pieces
from falling into the toaster, sticking on the guard wire in the slot, or burning inside
the toaster.
• Before toasting bagels, slice each bagel into two equal halves.
• Uneven toasting is usually due to bread slices of uneven thickness.
8

The removable crumb tray
catches crumbs that drop from
the bread as it is toasted. The
Crumb Tray should be emptied
regularly to avoid the build-up of
crumbs that could catch fire.
• To remove crumbs, first lightly
tap the sides of the toaster to
dislodge any crumbs caught in
the toasting chamber. Then
slide out the Crumb Tray and
empty it.
• To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, turn the toaster upside
down over a trash bin and gently shake. Any additional debris or crumbs should
fall out.
• You can also use a clean and dry pastry brush to reach any crumbs still clinging
to the interior of the toaster.
WARNING: Do not use any pointed or sharp articles for cleaning the inside
of the toaster; this may damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard.
• Wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
• Make sure to put the Crumb Tray back into the toaster before using the toaster
again. Replace the crumb tray by sliding it inwards until it locks into position.
WARNING: Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place.
Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representa-
tive.
