specification, andarenotsubjecttotheballisticconsiderationsof metermovements.
PHASEVERIFICATION
CorrectA1:A2phasingisindicatedbygreenilluminationof the φ
indicator. Incorrect phasing isimmediatelyobviousastherespective PPM φ
indicatorchangescolour to red.Relyingonthebasicalgebraicfunctionsof (L+R)
&(L-R),thephaseindicationisextremelyreliable,andisvital inanediting
environmentwherethehighlyvisual GO~~NO-GO indicatorprovidethisvital
informationinstantly,preventingexpensivemistakeswhichmayonlybecome
apparentmuchlater!
Thephaseindicatorextinguisheswhen both A1andA2signalsarebelow
approximately-25dBU, preventingnuisance triggeringonverylowlevelsignals.
AUDIOINPUTS
AudioinputsareprovidedonlockingXLR-3 connectors.Apairof
balanced,highimpedance,looping(female-male)connectorsforeachinput,
ensuresthat interfacingwiththe Pico isparticularlyeasy.
ADJUSTMENTS
ThePCB415 boardiselectronicallyaligned
whenmanufactured,andshouldnotrequire
furtheralignmentduringitslifetime.Theabsolute
sensitivityof thedisplaymetersvariesslightly
betweenindividual items,duetoManufacturer’s
productiontolerances(up to2% variation), andiscompensatedforbythe2resistors
R47 &R48.LK1isremovedtemporarily,andtheresistorsareadjustedtogivea
deflectionto“4”onthescale.R47 &R48 are NOT intendedtocompensatefor
errorsof inputsignal level.

MainspowertothePicoisnormallyprovidedbymeansof afused,rear
panelmounted,IECinputconnector.ThePicoismountedwithinanearthedmetal
framedcase,andissafeunderoperational conditionswhenfusedasspecified.
Howeverattentionisdrawntothefactthat ELECTRICALHAZARDcouldexistif
thecaseisopenedbytechnicallynaivepersonsandtheinternal wiringisexposedto
interference.Disturbance ormodificationtothemainswiringmustbeavoidedor
safetymaybecompromised.
Engineeringadjustments,asdescribedinanearlierpassage,arenot
consideredtobehazardous,whenundertakenbyacompetentpersonexercisingdue
care.Murrayproalwaysrecommendthat themainsleadisunpluggedbeforethe
caseisopened.Access tothecasewill requiretheremoval of 3mm topcover
screws.Thesescrewsmustalwaysbereplaced,andtightened,beforetheUnit is
returnedtoservice.Removal of thesescrewssignifiesunderstandingandacceptance
of thiswarning.Donotremoveanyof thecoverscrewsifyouhavedoubts
concerningtheaboveadvice.
Duringmanufacture,20 mm 250 volt ac,63mAdelayfusesarefittedfor
240 volt service,thesefusesarespecifiedtointerruptfault currentsup to35 Amps.
Ifa13Ampplug topisused,Murrayprorecommendthat a3Afuseisfitted.Under
nocircumstancesshouldthefuseratingbeincreased.
Theequipmentrequiresanelectrical safetyearthat all times,andis not specified
formainspowereduseunderconditionsof atmosphericprecipitation,dampor
condensinghumidity
SCALE ILLUMINATION
Thebrightness of themeterilluminationmaybereducedbyadjustmentof
thejumperonthe3positionlink, whichislocated withinthePICO’sbody,just
behindthemeters.MurrayprosupplythePICOwiththissettothemaximum
intensity.
