INSTALLING THE SECURITY BRACKETS
Four 9/32 inch holes need to be drilled, two each for the left and right sides of the enclosure. Using the tape measure and pencil,
precisely mark the location on each side of the enclosure as shown on the drawings below. Using the hammer and punch,
firmly mark each hole location. Use the hand drill with the 9/32 inch bit to drill the two holes on each side. Caution! On installed
enclosures there may be batteries located on the side of the drilling location. Use enough force to just drill through the
enclosure, but not touch a battery. It may be helful to have a block of wood behind the drilling location to block the bit
from touching the batteries. Note: The 6 inch dimension shown is for 3 battery enclosures. That dimension should be 19 inches
for 6 and 8 battery enclosures.
Measure cabinet width. For cabinets that are 24 inches wide (Myers Cabinets), spacers BKS114702M01 are required between
Right & Left Side Brackets and cabinet for proper fit. Install the Right Side Bracket first. The Right Side Bracket has the round
rod in it. The pre-installed threaded stud goes into the closest hole to the rear of the enclosure. Place over the stud the flat
washer and the lock washer. Secure the assembly with a hex nut. Insert a hex bolt into the other hole and secure with a flat/lock
washers and nut. Tighten both nuts using the 7/16 wrenches. To install the Left Side Bracket, repeat the process. Ensure that the
pre-installed threaded stud is in the closest hole to the rear of the enclosure.
Clean out any metal shavings from the enclosure.
ATTACHING THE SECURITY BAR
Close and latch the enclosure. Prepare a lock by opening the shackle and keep it near at hand. Hold the Security Bar so that the
side of the Security Bar that has the slot or “hook” is on the right. Hook the slot around the rod of the Right Side Bracket and
rotate the Security Bar around the face of the enclosure. The hole in the left side of the Security Bar should line up with the hole
in the Left Side Bracket. Thread the shackle of the opened lock through the two holes to secure the Security Bar.
Close the lock to complete the installation.
