Nemo Andi 2 Person Manual

NEMO MISSION
Our 2010 product line is the result of 8 years of devoted
labor and half a million years or so of developing better
tools for shelter and survival. NEMO is about what we
have just discovered and what we have known for a
long time. It’s about beautiful design and intelligent
engineering. It’s about serene cloudless days and bitter
cold nights spent battling snow drifts and frostbite. It’s
about bringing two worlds together: the world of design
and technology and the actual world where we test
ourselves and our inventions. We are pursuing perfection.
It is an epic journey, often elusive, demanding youthful
energy, creativity, and courage. We have come a long
way in our travels and we promise never to yield in our
determination. Like our ancestors who explored new
places for the first time, we will change the common idea
of what is possible.
NEMO’s spirit is in adventure. Without the beautiful wild places
where adventures are made, our spirit dies. We are committed
to reducing our environmental impact. Finding the right path
forward takes a great deal of research, problem solving and
commitment. And finding the right path is only the first challenge,
walking that path is the real test. NEMO has been making strides
to use more sustainable materials, to repurpose byproducts of
manufacturing, and to recycle products at the end of their useful
life. We are taking steps for the future of our planet and hope
you will do the same. To learn more about NEMO’s GRN™ efforts,

Optional Accessories
1. Footprint: The Footprint is a 70D abrasion-
resistant nylon fabric ground sheet perfectly sized
to fit underneath your tent. The fabric is PU coated
for waterproofness (10,000 mm). The Footprint
reduces wear and tear on your tent floor from
contact with the ground.
2. Pawprint™: The Pawprint™ is a removable liner
perfectly sized to fit inside your tent. It has the dual
function of protecting your tent floor from boots
and paws, and of adding serious comfort. The
Pawprint™ is made of a machine-washable brushed
polyester that is very soft to the touch. Place your
sleeping pads between the Pawprint™ and floor to
help them stay in place. With a clean, soft Pawprint™
under you, you might be able to save some weight
and travel with a lighter sleeping bag or blanket.
3. WindShield™: The WindShield™ is a fitted curtain
made of 70D nylon ripstop which attaches in front
of the mesh main entry to seal out wind and snow.
A vertical zipper allows you to pass easily through
the WindShield™ without affecting the use of the
main door. There are also cordlock style tie-backs to
hold the WindShield™ out of the way if you’re sitting
in the doorway.

ANDI™ Innovations
ANDI™
Ultralight Backpacking
Andi™ is a streamlined, highly efficient tool for backcountry exploration.
Descended from the Nano™ line of tents, Andi™ shares a similar layout to its
predecessor, but has an improved setup method and an additional six inches
of length. The DAC aluminum poles are inserted into dead-end sleeves
from the outside front of the tent, a system that could hardly be simpler.
This unique setup coupled with Andi’s™ freestanding design, integrated
vestibule, and new 2010 OSMO™ w/b fabric makes Andi™ a charming and
dependable companion for adventure. The bold catenary curves at the
base of the tent reduce wasted fabric and increase tension in the tent walls,
helping with wind resistance and water shedding. An optional removable
WindShield™ curtain adds all-conditions versatility when you want it,
saving weight and increasing ventilation when you don’t. Includes GREEN™
anodized DAC Featherlite® NSL poles, watertight stuff sack, stakes, and
repair kit. Optional Footprint, and Pawprint™, and WindShield™ are available.
1. Dead End Pole Sleeves: The setup of Andi™ is
very fast and simple thanks to pole sleeves which
begin at the front of the tent and “dead end” at the
rear. You simply slide the poles into the sleeves until
they stop and then secure the pole end tip in the
grommet near the sleeve opening at the front of
the tent. There are multiple grommets to allow for
changes in the fabric tension due to humidity.
2. Catenary Cuts: Using computer-aided modeling,
we built catenary curves into the edges of Andi’s™
tent panels. This method of patterning saves extra
material and improves the tensioning of the tent.

3. UVX Window: The vestibule includes a UVX
window so you can check conditions outside
without exposing your gear to the elements.
The window is optically clear, non-yellowing,
non-clouding, UV resistant, and remains flexible
in cold temperatures.
4. Integrated Vestibule: The theme of Andi™
is efficiency: saving weight, saving waste and
maximizing functionality. By integrating the
vestibule into the tent shell, we saved the need
for additional zippers and hardware, and saved
you the hassle of attaching a separate fly. If the
weather turns sour, it only takes a few seconds
to deploy the vestibule and create an additional
8 square feet of covered shelter.
5. Rear Venting: A large overhead vent opposite
the door promotes good air circulation. An internal
strut keeps the vent properly tensioned and allows
the vent to be deployed from inside.
6. Light Pocket: Andi™ includes a special pocket
for your headlamp with a light diffusing fabric.
Place your lamp in the pocket above the door
with the light facing towards the inside of the tent,
and the Light Pocket™ will help cast an even glow
throughout the tent interior.

NEMO Quality
NEMO Warranty
There is a reason why our logo resembles a medieval shield. If you’ve
ever seen an authentic medieval shield or piece of armor, the detail and
quality of craftsmanship are astonishing. Hours were spent shaping and
perfecting every component knowing the gravity of purpose and the need
for reliable performance. At NEMO, we take the same approach to quality.
We know from our own experience how vital a tent can be for comfort and
survival. Your tent is your home in the wilderness and your armor against
the elements. We obsess over every design decision to ensure you get
the greatest comfort and protection possible. Our process begins with
pencil and paper and evolves methodically through computer modeling,
prototyping, testing, and development. We use all the latest tools, software,
manufacturing methods, and materials. If we aren’t happy with what’s
available, we make our own. We strive to design and build the best tents
on the planet. We stand behind our shield, the symbol of NEMO quality.

Stake Corners (optional)
Secure the corner anchors by pounding the stakes into the ground
with a rock or hard object. If the ground is too hard, trap the stakes
under a rock or another heavy object.
Insert Poles
To install Andi™ poles, slide the pole through the sleeve located
near the door until the pole dead ends at the opposite corner.
Repeat with the second pole.
Tension and Stake Fly
Proper tension in your tent shell ensures maximum water shedding
and wind resistance. Once set up, stake out the fly and pull firmly
on the adjustable anchor.
Tension Guy-lines
In severe weather, clip guy-lines to reflective webbing loops on
tent, and stake out several feet away. This will add considerable
strength to the tent. Be careful of guy-lines as tripping hazards.
Insert the pole end tip through the grommets near the front corner
of the tent. Repeat with the second pole.
