1 Card identifier
The card identifier LSXM1SFF04B1 is at the upper right corner of the front panel.
2 Specifications
CAUTION:
This card can be used only with Type F interface cards, which have an Fin their card identifiers (fo
r
example, LSXM1CGP12FX1). Card damage will occur if this card is used with an interface card that
is not Type F.

IMPORTANT:
•To verify compatibility of the card with the software release you are using, see the release notes.
•Only switching fabric modules of the same model can be installed on the same switch.
3 Installing and removing the card
CAUTION:
•Remove the protection box from the card before you install the card.
•You must install the cards before you install the fan tray, and remove the fan tray before you
remove the cards.
•The smart speed adjustment feature increases the fan speed whenonly one fan tray is operating.
Take noise protection measures such as wearing an earmuff or earplug. In addition, make good
preparation before hot swapping a switching fabric module to minimize the operation time.
•Long-time exposure to strong air flow might cause discomfort. To avoid this hazard, do not stand
close to the air outlet vents while the switch is operating. If you must be next to the switch on the
air outlet vent side for an extended period, avoid the air flow or take other protective measures.

3.1 Installing the card
1. Release the ejector levers by pressing the spring clips.
2. Insert the card slowly into the slot until the brakes of the ejector levers touch the slot edges
tightly.
3. Simultaneously rotate the ejector levers inward until the spring clips lock the ejector levers in
place and the card is completely seated in the slot.
3.2 Removing the card
1. Release the ejector levers by pressing the spring clips.
2. Simultaneously rotate the ejector levers outward and then pull out the card.
3. Install a filler panel in a switching fabric module slot if you are not to install a switching fabric
module in it.
