CAUTION: Spidersand smallinsectsoccasionally
spinwebsormakenestinthegrill
burnertubesduringtransitand
warehousing.Thesewebscan lead
togasflowobstruction,whichcould
resultinafireinand around burner
tubes.Thistypeoffireisknownas
“FLASH-BACK”and can causeseriousdamagetoyourgrill
and createan unsafeoperatingconditionfortheuser.
Althoughan obstructedburnertubeisnottheonlycauseof
“FLASH-BACK”,itisthemostcommoncause.
Toreducethechanceof “FLASH-BACK”,you mustclean the
burnertubesbeforeassemblingyourgrill,and atleastoncea
monthinlatesummerorearlyfall whenspidersaremost
active.Alsoperformthisburnertubecleaning procedureif
yourgrillhasnotbeenusedforan extendedperiod oftime.A
cloggedtubecan belead toafirebeneaththegrill.

Check yourlocalbuildingcodesforthepropermethod of
installation.intheabsenceoflocalcodes,thisunitshould
beinstalledinaccordancewiththeNationalFuelGas
Code,ANSIZ223.1/NFPA 54,Storageand Handlingof
LiquefiedPetroleumGases,ANSI/NFPA B149.2orCSA
B149.1NaturalGasand PropaneInstallationCode, and the
NationalElectricalCode, ANSI/NFPA 70.
CorrectLPGasTankUse
LPgasgrillmodelsaredesignedforusewithastandard20
lb.LiquidPropaneGastank,notincludedwithgrill.Never
connectyourgasgrilltoan LPgastankthatexceedsthis
capacity.
Ifanexternalelectricalsource isutilized:Theoutdoor
cookinggasappliance,wheninstalled,mustbeelectrically
groundedinaccordancewithlocalcodesor,intheabsence
oflocalcodes,withtheNationalElectricalCode,
ANSI/NFPA70,ortheCanadian ElectricalCode, CSA
C22.1.
WARNING
Keepanyelectricalsupplycordand thefuelsupplyhose
awayfromanyheatedsurfaces.
NOTE:Thenormalflowofgasthroughtheregulatorand
hoseassemblycan createahummingnoise.Alowvolume
ofnoiseisperfectlynormaland will notinterferewith
operationofthegrill.If hummingnoiseisloud and
excessiveyou mayneedtopurgeairfromthegaslineor
resettheregulatorexcess gasflowdevice.Thispurging
procedureshouldbedoneeverytimeanewLPgastankis
connectedtoyourgrill.
Visuallycheck theburnerflamespriortoeachuse.The
flamesshouldlooklikethispicture.If theydo not, refertothe
burnermaintenancy partofthismanual.

LP-Gas SupplySystem
Iftheinformation isnotfollowed exactly,afireresultingin
deathorseriousinjurycould occur.
A20lb tankof approximately12-1/4inchesin diameterby18-
1/4incheshigh isthemaximumsizeLPgastanktouse.
Thesafetyfeaturepreventsthetankfrombeingoverfilled,
whichcancausemalfunctionoftheLPgastank,regulator
and/orgrill.
TheLPgassupplycylindertobeusedmustbeconstructed
and marked in accordancewiththespecificationsforLP –
GascylinderoftheU.S.Departmentof Transportation(DOT)
ortheNational Standardof Canada,CAN/CSA –B339,
Cylinders,Spheresand TubesforTransportation of
DangerousGoodsand Commission .
TheLPgastankmusthaveashutoff valveterminatingin an
LPvalveoutletthatiscompatiblewithaType1.LPgas
supplycylindermusthaveashutoff valveterminatingin a
valveoutletspecifiedforconnectiontypeQCC1in the
standardforcompressed gascylindervalveoutletand inlet
connectionANSI/CGA-V-1asapplicable.LPgassupply
cylindermustbefittedwithanOverfill Protection Device
(O.P.D)TheLPgastankmustalsohaveasafetyrelief
devicethathasadirectconnection withthevaporspaceof
thetank.
Thetanksupplysystemmustbearranged forvapor
withdrawal.
TheLPgastankusedmusthaveacollartoprotectthetank
valve.
Placedustcaponcylindervalveoutletwheneverthecylinder
isnotin use.Onlyinstall thetypeofdustcaponthecylinder
valveoutletthatisprovided withthecylindervalve.Other
typesof caporplugsmayresultin leakageofpropane.
Never connectanunregulated LPgastanktoyourgasgrill.
Thisoutdoorcooking gasapplianceisequipped withahigh
capacityhose/regulatorassemblyforconnectiontoa
standard20lb.Liquid propanecylinder.
HaveyourLPgastankfilledbyareputablepropanegas
dealerand visuallyinspected and re-qualified ateachfilling.
DonotstoreaspareLPgascylinderunderornearthis
appliance.
Neverfill thecylinderbeyond80 percentfull.
Alwayskeep LPgastanksin anuprightposition.
Donotstoreorusegasolineorotherflammablevaporsand
liquidsin thevicinityofthisoranyotherappliance.
Storageofanoutdoorcookinggasapplianceindoorsis
permissibleonlyifthecylinderisdisconnectedand removed
fromtheoutdoorcooking gasappliance.
Whenyourgasgrill isnotin usethegasmustbeturnedoff at
LPgastank.
Thegasmustbeturned off atthesupplycylinderwhen the
outdoorcookinggasapplianceisnotin use.
LPgastankmustbestoredoutdoorsin awell-ventilatedarea
and outof reachof children.Disconnected LPgastanksmust
notbestoredinabuilding,garageoranyotherenclosedarea.
DoNotobstructtheflowofventilationairaroundthegasgrill
housing.Onlyusetheregulatorand thehoseassembly
suppliedwithyourgasgrill.Replacementregulatorsand hose
assembliesmustbethosespecifiedin thismanual.
Theregulatorand hoseassemblymustbeinspected before
eachuseof thegrill.Ifthereisexcessiveabrasion orwearor
ifthehoseiscut, itmustbereplaced priortothegrill being put
intooperation.Thereplacementhoseassemblyshall bethat
specifiedbythemanufacturer.
Pressureregulatorand hoseassemblysuppliedwiththe
outdoorcookinggasappliancemustbeused.Never
substituteothertypesof regulator.Contactcustomerservice
formanufacturerspecified replacementparts.
Thisoutdoorcooking gasapplianceisequipped witha
pressureregulatorcomplywiththestandardforPressure
Regulating ValvesforLPGasANSI/ UL144.
Donotusebriquettesof anykind in thegrill.
Thegrill isdesignedforoptimumperformancewithouttheuse
of briquettes.Donotplacebriquettesontheradiantasthiswill
blockoff theareaforthegrill burnerstovent. Adding
briquettescandamageignitioncomponentsand knobs,and
void thewarranty.
Keepthebackand sidecartfree and clearfromdebris.Keep
anyelectricalsupplycord,ortherotisseriemotorcordaway
fromtheheated areasofthegrill.
Neverusethegrill in extremelywindyconditions.Iflocatedin
aconsistentlywindyarea(oceanfront, mountaintop,etc.)a
windbreakwill berequired.Alwaysadheretothespecified
clearance.
Neveruseadented orrustypropanetank.
Keepanyelectricalsupplycordand thefuelsupplyhoseaway
fromanyheatedsurface.
Whilelighting,keep yourfaceand handsasfarawayfromthe
grill aspossible.
Burneradjustmentshould onlybeperformedaftertheburner
hascooled.

Minimumclearancefromsidesand backofunitto
combustibleconstruction,24 inches(61cm)fromsides
and 24 inches(61cm)fromback.
DONOT usethisapplianceunderoverheadcombustible
surfaces.Thisoutdoorscookinggasapplianceisnot
intend tobeinstalled in oronrecreational vehiclesand/or
boats.

bottom.Thiscan severelyupsetcombustionairflowortrap

Forproperlightingand performanceoftheburnerskeep
theburnerportsclean.It isnecessarytoclean them
periodicallyforoptimumperformance.Theburnerswill only
operateinonepositionand mustbemountedcorrectlyfor
safeoperation.
Clean thegrillwithcaution.Toavoidsteamburns,do not
useawet spongeorclothtoclean thegrillwhileitishot.
Somecleanersproducetoxicfumesorcan igniteifapplied
toahotsurface.
Turnoff grillcontrolsand makecertainthegrill iscool
beforeusing anytypeofaerosolcleaneron oraround the

Tightenthescrewsthat wereloosened above.
b)Repeatstep 3a toattached GreaseTray
SupportBracket(AI)tothe RightSide Panel
(Y) makesureall screwsaretight.

(b).Install battery intoignition boxwith
positiveterminalfacing outward.
(c).Replacethe ignition battery cap after
the battery hasbeen installed.
Note:Makesurethe igniterisassembled
withthe wiresupward45 ,sothatthe

a)Removethe 2screwsfromthe searing side burner.
Then removethe searing side burner.See Fig.20.
b)Loosen butdo notremovethe 2screws
thatarepre-attached tothe valve.Insertthe
searing side burnervalveintothe searing
side burnercontrolpaneland bezel.Align
the screwson the valvewiththe large side
ofthe holeson the bezel.Slide the screws
downtothe smallerholesand tighten the
screwstosecure.
c) Replacethe searing side burner,angling
itsothatthe side burnertube slidesoverthe
valveorifice.
