Safety Instructions
Read through this manual carefully and observe the following safety
instructions before operating this device.
• Use only the car power cable and accessories supplied by NEXTBASE
dealer. Use of unauthorized accessories may void the warranty.
• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers,
stoves,orotherequipment(includingampliers)thatproduceheat.
• Keep this device away from water, drinks, or all types of liquids.
• Do not drop or apply excessive force to this device.
• Disconnect this device from the power supply when not in use.
• It is forbidden by law to duplicate, broadcast, play in public, or rent
copyrighted material without permission.
• Do not use alcohol based products to clean your device. Clean only with
dry cloth. Always disconnect this device from the power source before
cleaning.

(about -10ºC or lower) or extremely high (about 50ºC or higher), such as

Introducon
NEXTBASE “Duo Cinema” is a new dual-screen rear seat car entertainment
system that will revolutionize the way we view in car entertainment. Duo
Cinema has been designed to keep passengers entertained on the move with
the greatest of ease. Users can easily send videos, pictures, and music from
theirportabledeviceorUSBashdrivetoDuoCinematowatchwhatthey
want.

Remote Control
Funcons Overview
Replacing the Baery
1Pressrmlythe
latch and pull out
the battery holder.
2Remove the old battery and
insert a new lithium coin battery
(CR2025) into the battery holder
with the positive side (+) facing
up.
3Install the battery
holder back into
its slot.
Note:
♦Remove the battery from the remote control when not in use for extended
periods of time to prevent possible battery leakage.

Geng Started
Installing Duo Cinema in Vehicle
Thisdeviceisspecicallydesignedtobemountedbehindthedriverand
passenger seats.
1Remove the screws to release both locking latches on the stanchion mount.
2Position the bracket on the bars of the headrest. Fasten the screws on both
lockinglatchestoxthebracketrmlyonthebars.
Note:
♦Make sure the stanchion mount of the player is installed on the RIGHT headrest.
3Connect the player and the monitor with the AV/Power cable (one end of the
car power cable) as shown in the following illustration.

4Slide the mount slot of the player into the backplate of the stanchion mount
fully until it clicks into place. Repeat the same procedure to install the
monitor on the LEFT headrest.
5Adjust the player/monitor to the desired viewing angle.
Note:
♦To remove the player/monitor from the stanchion mount, pull and hold the release
latch upwards and then slide the player/monitor off to disengage the connection.

Turning the Power On/O
Use only the supplied car power cable to power on this device.
Note:
♦The supplied car power cable is for 12VDC vehicles usage only. If the player is
used in a 24VDC vehicle, it may cause damage that is not covered by warranty.
♦Always start the vehicle engine before connecting the player to the power supply or
damage could result due to electrical surges during engine start.
Turn the Power On
Plug the other end of the car power cable to the cigarette lighter socket of your
vehicle. This device automatically turns on.
Note:
♦If you have properly connected both player and monitor, the picture and sound of
player transfer to the monitor automatically.
Turn the Power O
Press and hold the button for at least 2 seconds to turn this device off.
Note:
♦You can also turn off this device by touching the key on the player.
♦To turn off the monitor individually, simply touch its key.

Making Connecon
This section guides you on how to insert a DVD disc and connect your Duo
Cinema to an external device.
Note:
♦ Do not unplug the USB ash drive or disconnect the cable connection during the le
playback.
Insert the DVD Disc
1On the player, press the Open button and carefully open the disc cover.
2Place the disc in the compartment with the label facing up. Make sure that it
is completely seated in the indent.
3Close the disc cover by gently pressing until it clicks into place.

Connect to HDMI Input Source
You can use this device to play your favorite multimedia content (videos,
pictures, and music) from your portable device (i.e. smartphone or tablet).
1Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI1/HDMI2 port of the player.
2Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI port of the portable
device.

Note:
♦ To copy your favorite multimedia les, plug in the USB ash drive into your
computer USB port and transfer the les to the root directory of the USB ash drive.

Connect Headphones
Duo Cinema is equipped with built-in speakers. However, you may also use a
set of headphones for personal listening. To use headphones, just plug in your
headphone cable into the headphone jack of the player and/or monitor.
With the built-in IR transmitter, you can use wireless headphones. When the
IR headphone is connected to the player, you can select the channel your
prefer by simply pressing the button on the remote control.
Press the button repeatedly to toggle the IR headphones channel.

Note:
♦When the headphones are connected, the speakers of Duo Cinema will be muted.
♦When the IR headphones are connected, the built-in speakers are not muted. To
adjust the volume level of the speakers, do the following:
BOn the player, you can adjust the volume level by touching the or key on
the device or pressing the volume button ( or ) on the remote control. To
mute the speakers, press the button on the remote control.
BOn the monitor, you can only adjust the volume level by touching the or
key on the device. The volume button ( or ) on the remote control does
not work.
♦To avoid hearing damage, it is highly recommended to set the volume level to its
minimum level rst before plugging in the headphones.

General Operaons
Switch the Input Source
By default, this device is in DVD mode when it is turned on. To switch the input
source, perform the following:
1Press the button.
2Press the or button to select the desired input
source.
3Press the buttontoconrmtheselection.
Note:
♦You can also switch the input source by touching the key on the player. Touch
the key repeatedly to toggle the input source.
♦If there is no signal detected, a “No Signal” message will appear on the screen.

Using the Function Menu
To access the Function menu during playback, perform the following:
1Press the button to bring up the Function menu.
2Use the , , , or button to select the desired function.
3Press the button to conrm the selection.
4Press the button repeatedly to change the setting.

♦The Function menu will disappear within 3 seconds if there is no operation.

Adjusting the Volume Level
To adjust the volume level, do the following:
• Press the button on the remote control
or touch the key on the player/monitor to
decrease the volume level.
• Press the button on the remote control
or touch the key on the player/monitor to
increase the volume level.
Adjusting the Screen Brightness
To switch the screen brightness, perform the following:
1Press the button to bring up the main menu.
Note:
♦For HDMI input source, skip Step 2.
2Press the or button to select Screen Menu. Then press the button
to enter Screen Menu.
3Press the or button to select
Brightness. Press the button to
conrmtheselection.
4Press the or button to adjust the
setting.

♦The OSD menu will disappear within 3

Function
Enable/Disable the resume function. When
this function is enabled, the DVD system will
remember the point in a DVD when the
button was pressed during playback. When
the button is pressed again, the playback
will begin from the stop point.
Note:
♦Resume Function may not be available on
some DVD discs.
