CARE AND FEEDING OF YOUR WATCH
NFW watches are pretty tough, as far as precision instruments go.
Here’s a few tips to help keep your watch running strong and lookin’
good for many years.
WATER RESISTANCE
Your AutoPilot is water-resistant to 200 Meters (660 feet).It comes
equipped with a screw-down crown. Always be sure the crown is
pushed in and screwed down securely before getting the watch wet.
Otherwise, it may leak water, damaging the watch. Never push
chronograph buttons or pull out the crown while underwater. It will
cause leakage. This type of damage is not covered by the warranty.
After salt water or sand exposure, rinse your watch with fresh water.
SCRATCHES
CASE:
Even though NFW watch cases are forged from solid stainless steel,
they can still scratch. Some people feel that scratches actually add
character. If you prefer a more pristine appearance, take care not to
bang the watch or place it in scratch-prone situations.

CRYSTAL: Your AutoPilot is equipped with a fine sapphire crystal.
It’s pretty scratch resistant but it can be shattered if subjected to a
strong impact. Best to be careful. Also, we coat the crystals with
a special anti-reflective coating, just because we thought you’d
appreciate it.
BEZEL SCREWS: Please do not remove the bezel screws. The
included hex screwdrivers are only meant for changing the strap.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT: If you have a quartz, battery powered
AutoPilot, every couple years have the battery replaced by a
professional jeweler. Remember, the guts of this precision instrument
are very delicate, as are the gaskets & seals.
CHANGING THE STRAPS: To change the strap, simply use both
included screwdrivers on both sides of the strap screw bar. Remove
screw, then push the interior bar with a thin object (such as a paper
clip). Then install the new strap. Be careful not to overtighten the
screws. When you feel resistance, stop tightening. Too much force
will strip the screw. We recommend you perform this operation in
an area where you’ll be able to easily find the small screw,
should you drop it.

This watch will wind itself while being worn, from your natural motion
as you go about your day. From a fully wound state, it will run for
approximately 36 to 40 hours when not being worn. If the watch has
fully wound down and is not running, it is best to wind it manually by
unscrewing the crown, then turning the crown approximately 20 full
revolutions.

SETTING THE TIME:
1. Pull out the crown to the 2nd position.
2. Turn the crown to set hour and minute hands.
3. Push the crown back in while simultaneously screwing it down.
SETTING THE DATE:
1. Pull out the crown to the 1st position.
2. Turn the crown counter-clockwise to set the date.
Do not set the date between the hours of 9:00 PM and 4:00 AM,
as it may damage the movement. The date mechanism is
delicate and is not meant to be set during these hours.
3. After adjustment, screw the crown in.
IMPORTANT:
For screw-down crowns, you must unscrew it first, then pull it out to
adjust time or date. After adjusting, always be sure to carefully screw
the crown back down securely.

CHRONOGRAPH MOvEMENT
SETTING THE TIME:
1. Pull out the crown to the 2nd position.
2. Turn the crown to set hour and minute hands.
3. When the crown is pushed back in to the normal position, the
watch begins to run.

SETTING THE DATE:
1. Pull the crown out to the 1st position.
2. Turn the crown counter-clockwise to set the date. If the date is
set between the hours of 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, the date may
not change on following day. So, set the date after 1:00 AM or
before 9:00 PM. Be sure to screw crown down.
3. After the date’s been set, push the crown back in to the normal
position and screw down securely.
USING THE CHRONOGRAPH:
The chronograph can time an event for up to 12 hours with 1/20
second timing resolution.
1. Press button “B” to enter chronograph mode.
2. The chronograph can be started and stopped each time button “A”
is pressed. The 1/20 second hand stops moving 30 seconds after
the chronograph has started. This hand returns to zero but is still
measuring time in the background. When button “A” is pressed it will
jump to the recorded 1/20 second position.
3. Pressing button “B” resets the chronograph, returning all chrono-
graph hands to their zero positions.

RESETTING THE CHRONOGRAPH:
This procedure should be performed if the chronograph second hand
or 1/20 second hand do not return to the zero position after pressing
button “B,” or after the battery has been replaced.
1. Pull the crown out to the 2nd position.
2. Press button “A” repeatedly to set the chronograph second hand
to the zero position. The second hand can be advanced quickly
by pressing and holding button “A.”
3. Press button “B” to set the chronograph 1/20 second hand to the
zero position.
4. Once the hands have been zeroed, press the crown back in to it’s
normal position, and be sure to screw the crown down securely.


NFW WATCH WARRANTY
We’ll keep this short and sweet. If something goes wrong with your
NFW AutoPilot, due to a manufacturing defect, during the first three
years that you own it, we’ll take care of you, either repairing or
replacing the watch, at our discretion. We make excellent products
and we stand behind them.
Here’s what’s not covered, since these are not considered to be
manufacturing defects: Scratched or broken crystals, scratched
cases, batteries, abuse, normal wear and tear including leather,
water leakage damage that occurred either while the crown was
out or if buttons were pushed while in water.
