Extended ISO capability

Light sensitivity settings as high as ISO 6400 help achieve

sharper, more natural-looking photos in a variety of low lighting

situations, or when shooting fast-moving subjects. Low noise

night mode extends sensitivity as high as ISO 12800*, minimizing

noise at high ISO by combining output from multiple pixels to

render optimized results.

Optimized customizable operation

The independent Quick menu dial provides fast and sure access

to ISO, white balance, image quality, bracketing and settings for

other versatile functions. There is also an independent Exposure

Compensation dial for direct control of up to ±3 EV compensation

in 1/3 EV steps. And you can preset up to three different proles

for favorite focal length and camera settings, and then switch

Night Portrait mode enables you to capture beautiful handheld portraits at night. Following a series

of images to capture the background clearly, the COOLPIX S8100 shoots an additional exposure

using the ash to capture your subject and then merges them to produce a single nished image.

It achieves this by combining the image-stabilizing advantages of lens shift VR with the ability of its
