GRO NDING INSTR CTIONS
Th s appl ance must be grounded. If t should electr cally malfunct on, ground ng prov des a path of least res stance for electr c current to reduce the r sk of electr c
shock. Th s appl ance s equ pped w th a cord hav ng an equ pment-ground ng conductor and ground ng plug. The plug must be plugged nto an appropr ate outlet
that s properly nstalled and grounded n accordance w th all local codes and ord nances.
DANGER!
Improper connect on of the equ pment-ground ng conductor can result n a r sk of electr c shock. Check w th a qual f ed electr c an or
serv ce person f you are n doubt as to whether the outlet s properly grounded. Do not mod fy the plug prov ded w th the appl ance.
If t w ll not f t the outlet, have a proper outlet nstalled by a qual f ed electr c an.
Th s appl ance s for use on a nom nal 120-volt c rcu t, and has a ground ng plug that looks l ke the plug llustrated n F gure 1 below. A temporary adapter llustrated
n F gures 2 and 3 may be used to connect th s plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown n F gure 2 f a properly grounded outlet s not ava lable. The temporary adapter
should be used only unt l a properly grounded outlet (F gure 1) can be nstalled by a qual f ed electr c an. The green-colored r g d ear, tab, or the l ke extend ng from
the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover. Whenever the adapter s used, t must be held n place by a
metal screw. Ground ng adapters are not approved for use n Canada.
Replace the plug f the ground ng p n s damaged or broken.
The Green (or Green/Yellow) w re n the cord s the ground ng w re. When replac ng a plug, th s w re must be attached to the ground ng p n only.
Extens on cords connected to th s mach ne should be 12 gauge, three-w re cords w th three-prong plugs and outlets. DO NOT use extens on cords more than 50
feet (15 m) long.

couvercle d’une boîte de sort e m se à la terre. L’adaptateur do t être f xé par une v s métall que. Note: Au Canada, I’ut l sat on d’un adaptateur tempora re n’est
pas autor sée par le Code canadien de l’électricité.
Remplacez la pr se s la pr se de terre est abîmée ou cassée.
Le f l Vert (ou Vert/Jaune) dans la ganse est le f l de terre. Lors du remplacement d´une pr se, ce f l do t être raccordé à la pr se de terre un quement.

Th s manual w ll help you get the most from your Kent SelectLine. Read t
thoroughly before operat ng the mach ne.
Th s product s ntended for commerc al use; pol sh ng, spray buff ng, scrubb ng,
str pp ng and rotary carpet shampoo ng.
PARTS AND SERVICE
Repa rs, when requ red, should be performed by your Author zed Kent Serv ce
Center, who employs factory tra ned serv ce personnel, and ma nta ns an
nventory of Kent or g nal replacement parts and accessor es.
Call the KENT DEALER named below for repa r parts or serv ce. Please spec fy
the Model and Ser al Number when d scuss ng your mach ne.

NAME PLATE
The Model Number and Ser al Number of your mach ne are shown on the
Nameplate on the bottom of the mach ne. Th s nformat on s needed when
order ng repa r parts for the mach ne. Use the space below to note the Model
Number and Ser al Number of your mach ne for future reference.

NCRATE THE MACHINE
When the mach ne s del vered, carefully nspect the sh pp ng carton and the
mach ne for damage. If damage s ev dent, save the sh pp ng carton so that t can
be nspected. Contact the Kent Customer Serv ce Department mmed ately to f le
a fre ght damage cla m.

(B) - INSTALLING THE BR SH OR PAD HOLDER
Al gn the lugs w th the correspond ng slots n the brush or pad holder and turn the
brush or pad holder counterclockw se to lock t n place. To remove brush/pad
holder, g ve t a qu ck, hard turn clockw se.
CA TION!
Us ng the wrong brush or pad on th s mach ne can damage the floor or overload
the motor.
OPERATION
1Unwrap the Power Cord and plug t nto a properly grounded outlet.
2Select the des red speed sett ng; Low-190 rpm, H gh-300 rpm.

NOTE: Speed should not be changed wh le n operat on. To change
speed, shut off mach ne, select des red speed sett ng and repeat steps
2-5.
3Loosen the Handle Adjustment Lever (4) by pull ng up on the bottom of
the lever. Move the Operator Handle downward unt l your arms are
almost stra ght. Then step down on top of the lever to lock t.
4L ft the Handle unt l the brush (or pad) s flat aga nst the floor.
WARNING!
Be prepared to control the mach ne as soon as the motor starts.
Just a sl ght up or down movement of the Handle w ll make the
mach ne move from s de to s de. Ra se the Handle to go r ght.
Lower the Handle to go left.
CA TION!
Immed ately start mov ng the mach ne back and forth. Keep the
mach ne mov ng wh le the motor s runn ng to avo d damage to the
floor or carpet.
5Hold one of the Operator Hand Gr ps (1) f rmly, push the Safety Lock
Button (2) and then compress the Sw tch Levers (3) to start the motor.
NOTE: When the dual controlled sw tch levers are released, the mach ne
shuts off mmed ately.
NOTE: When spray buff ng, check the pad every 15 m nutes for d rt and
wax bu ld-up. If the pad s d rty, turn t over to expose the clean s de or
nstall a clean pad.

AFTER SE
1 Unplug the Power Cord, co l t and hang t from the Operator Hand Gr ps
(1).
2 Remove the pad holder or brush from the mach ne. Clean the pad or brush
and hang t up to dry. Allow buff ng pads to dry completely before us ng
aga n.
Store brushes and pad holders separate from the mach ne. Never store
the mach ne w th the pad holder or brush on the mach ne.
3 W pe the ent re mach ne w th a clean, damp cloth. W pe the unders de of
the brush hous ng after wet use.
4 Inspect the ent re mach ne and all accessor es for damage. Perform any
requ red ma ntenance or repa rs before storage.
5 Store the mach ne n a clean, dry place w th the Handle locked n the
upr ght pos t on.
