Coin changer
How to set-up the e-mail function?

IntroductIon
1 Introduction
Before getting started please read this chapter and in particular the requirements carefully. This
is to ensure that you use the correct equipment and software for setting up e-mail on currenza
c2airport coin changers.
1.1 General information about the c2airport e-mail function
c2airport coin changers are designed to send audit as well as status & alert e-mails using an
existing e-mail account. However, they can also send other data of machines supporting DEX or
DDCMP protocol/transmission. Just like the e-mail program on your PC the c2airport logs into
the e-mail server via user name and password and tells the server recipient, subject and text.
The server then sends the e-mail to the e-mail server of the recipient.
Only restrictions:
• No encryption supported, e.g., SSL. The e-mail server thus needs to allow SMTP without
encryption.
Usually, server port 25 is used for unencrypted SMTP. If your e-mail provider
species any other port, the server may only support encrypted connections.
• User name and password must not exceed a character length of 24 each
You can receive the e-mails from a c2airport with your e-mail program or any other device sup-
porting the reception of e-mails.
IfthebackofcesoftwareAuditManagerisusedtoreceivethec2airport e-mails, the Audit
Manager uses the Internet connection of your PC. Like the e-mail program on your PC, Audit
Manager logs into the e-mail server with a user name and password and asks the server for
received mail (automatic retrieval interval adjustable).

2 Getting started
These steps have to be taken before the c2airport is able to send e-mails:
• Preparation of the coin changer
• Congurationofthecoinchanger
2.1 Preparing the c² airport
Tools: SIM card (cf. Chap. 1.2.1 c2 airport equipment, p. 3), small Phillips screwdriver, slotted screw
driver
This is only a short list focusing on preparation to make the c2 airport sending
e-mails. For more detailed information and general unit preparation please refer
to the c2 airport short reference guide.
1 Deactivate SIM card PIN (using mobile phone or Audit Manager with airbox).
2 Remove c2rear cover [Fig. 1/A–B].
3 If installed, detach c2battery pack.
4 Insert SIM card [Fig. 2/C].
5 If necessary, reattach battery pack.
6 Reinstall rear cover.
7 Note c2airport telephone number for future readouts.
8 Connect coin changer to vending machine.
9 Wait for aIrport reGIstered to be shown on the changer display.
10 Ensurethat antennareceptionisover 30% (c2 menu → DIAGNOSTICS→
AUDIT MODULE).
If you are using an adhesive
antenna, do not install it to any
metal surface as this will reduce
the signal level.

3 E-mail management in Audit Manager
The Audit Manager can be used as e-mail program for incoming e-mails from c2airport coin
changers. Once received they can be displayed, exported as Excel sheet or deleted. In order
that the Audit Manager can retrieve the e-mails, you have to set up the e-mail account the Audit
Manager is to be used.
3.1 Setting up Audit Manager e-mail account
1 Select Settings > airport > Settings.
On the right-hand side of the box you can determine the e-mail settings.
2 Under e-maIl settInGs referring to the e-mail account the Audit Manager is to be used to receive
e-mails from a c2airport, enter the incoming pop server, server port, user and password.
Please ask your IT support for assistance or check the web site of your e-mail
provider to nd out the correct parameters.
PoP server & server PorT:
The POP3 server port without encryption is already preset to 110. If the server
uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption the server port switches to 995
automatically.

3.1.1 Using same e-mail account for sending & receiving e-mails
If you want the Audit Manager to receive the e-mails sent from a c2airport coin changer, you may
use the same e-mail account for the coin changer and the Audit Manager. The Audit Manager
can retrieve e-mails from the c2airport e-mail account, i.e. user name & password of sender &
recipient are equal.
Example conguration
E-mail account for c2airport Audit Manager
Server smtp.example.com pop.example.com
Port 25 110
User test test
Password test1 test1
Sender test@example.com
Recipient test@example.com
3.2 Retrieving e-mails in Audit Manager
1 Select Readout > airport > Check for e-mails.
After a while all e-mails have been downloaded
from the server and will be displayed in three
tabs depending on type of data:
• Audit data: e-mails containing audit data
(will be added to the Audit Manager
archives automatically and can then be
deleted)
• c2messages: e-mails containing current status & alert messages from a c2airport
(can be archived and then deleted)
• Other messages: e-mails containing other messages than from a c2airport
2 If desired, Select and Archive and then Delete e-mails in the respective tab.
