Dear Parents
Congratulations on deciding to purchase our
NUK Humidifier – a decision in favour of quality
and safety.
This humidifier helps improve the air in a child’s
room by ensuring that it is at a pleasant
humidity. This prevents excessively dry air
leading to your baby suffering from irritated
mucous membranes, dry, cracked skin, a dry,
sore throat and cracked lips.At the same time,
it also reduces the risk of flu, colds and some
fungal and bacterial infections, as humidification
stops your baby’s resistance being weakened by
excessively dry air.
We wish your baby a healthy development.

3. Description of Appliance
3.1 Intended Purpose
This NUK Humidifier increases humidity indoors
and thus prevents the air becoming too dry.
This appliance may only be used in dry indoor
areas. Use outdoors or in damp areas is
prohibited. This appliance is intended for use in
private households and is not suitable for
commercial use.
Humidity is a measure of how much water
vapour there is in the air.
The quantity of water vapour the air can absorb
is highly dependent on temperature. The higher
the air temperature, the more water vapour
can be absorbed.
When the air is fully saturated (e.g. when it is
foggy or raining), in other words when it cannot
absorb any more water, we talk about a relative
humidity of 100%.
We feel best at a relative humidity of 40-55%.
A relative humidity of less than 30% is perceived as
too dry. The hygro-thermometer (moisture and
temperature measuring instrument) supplied enab-
les you to measure relative humidity at any time.

3.2 Scope of Supply
• 1 NUK Humidifier, complete
• 1 digital hygro-thermometer (moisture and
temperature measuring instrument)
• 1 set of operating instructions
3.3 Description of Function
This humidifier is electronically operated. High
frequency ultrasound at the atomizer breaks the
water inside the humidifier down into
minuscule droplets.The ventilation system gives
off these droplets into the ambient air in the
form of a microfine mist. Here the mist
evaporates and thus increases humidity. The
benefit of ultrasound atomization is that it is
very quiet in operation and will not disturb your
child's sleep.
In contrast to water evaporators, this appliance
also has a very low power consumption. The
water level sensor integrated in the appliance
ensures that the mist stops being sprayed
automatically when the water level is too low.
This automatic cut-out protects the atomizer
from overheating. However, the appliance stays
switched on and the fan continues to run.

(see section 3.2 on page 5) and undamaged.
3. Clean the appliance thoroughly before using
it for the first time (see section 7. on
page 9).
Important:
A new appliance may smell a
little if it is not cleaned beforehand.
4. Before switching the humidifier on, put it in
the room where it is to be operated for half
an hour.
This is intended to ensure that the
humidifier is at the same temperature as the
room, which will make it function more
accurately.
5. Place the appliance on a level, dry, non-slip
surface.
5.2 Hygro-thermometer (Moisture
andTemperature Measuring
Instrument)
Measuring range for humidity: 20% to 99%
Measuring range for temperature: –10°C to
+50°C or 14°F to 122°F.
Important:
The hygro-thermometer must be
calibrated before being used for the first time.
Prolonged use in an overheated room with dry
air may likewise impair the sensitive parts of the
instrument, requiring it to be recalibrated. To do
this, wrap the appliance in a damp cloth for an
hour. This increases moisture to a maximum.
The instrument is recalibrated and operational
(again).

with boiling water described above (see section
7.2 on page 9) is sufficient.
7.4 Descale
Regular thorough cleaning of the appliance after
each use in accordance with "7.2 Clean", but at
least once a week, will reduce the build-up of
limescale. However, limescale will start to build
up in the base of the appliance after some time.
Limescale can cause humidification performance
to deteriorate considerably.
Important on preventing limescale:
• It is essential to use fresh and clean, ideally
boiled or distilled water every time you use
the appliance.
• The water temperature should not exceed
20°C.
Important:The process outlined below is best
for mild limescale. If limescale is severe, you
should use a proprietary limescale remover.

Estimados padres
