Refer t o com pat ibilit y list and inst all HDDs. For optim al perform ance
consideration , inst all disk s wit h t he sam e m odel and st orage capacit y. The
available RAI D level depends on t he am ount of disks inst alled.
1. Open t he lid on t he front of t he unit enclosure.
2. Pull a HDD t ray fr om the enclosure. See t he front view figur e.
3. Car efully lock t he disk s int o the HDD t ray with screw s. 4 screws for each
disk. Put t he HDD t ray back once y ou finished.
St e p 3 : Co n n ect t o t h e N e t w o r k
1. At t ach one end of t he net w ork cable t o t he RJ45 net wor k connect ion. See
t he rear view figure.
2. At t ach t he ot her end of t he net w ork cable t o y our Et hernet
hub or swit ch.
I f t here are m ult iple net work s at y our facilit y, not e the net wor k t o which you connect
t he unit . You will need this inform ation during t he set up process. Please also enable
t he DHCP f unct ion w it hin t he net work , as t he unit will r et riev e an I P addr ess t hrough
DHCP by default .

1. At tach the power cord from the power source t o the power adapt er.
2. Connect t he power adapt er t o t h e back of t he unit enclosure.
See the rear view figure.
3. On t he front of t he unit , press t he power but t on . See t he
front view figure.
I t t akes about a m inut e for t he unit t o fully power up. Once it is power ed up:

2. Double- click Set u p .e x e t o begin inst allation .
3. Follow the inst ruction of Set u p .ex e , and click t he Fin i sh
but t on t o close t he inst aller.
St e p 6 : Set u p t h e Un i t
The soft ware I n st a l la t i o n W i z ar d per form s t he set up procedures on t he
unit . Aft er t he procedure, you can begin using it .
1. Go t o St art > NUUO NVRm ini 2 > NUUO I nst all Wizard.
2. This program will show t he default language set t ing and
init iation m ode.
3. Choose your preferred language and initiation m ode, and
t hen click t he but t on.

“Add license” function is supported in v1.0.0.20 and lat er version.

t he unit s on t he int ernet curr ent ly. Choose one of t hem , and then click
t he but t on .

8. Add cam eras for t his server. There are two ways of adding
cam eras, selecting the searched cam eras and m anually configuring the
cam eras. Click t he but t on aft er com pleting cam era list .

9. Set u p t he t im e zone, dat e, and tim e, and adj ust daylight
saving changes if needed. Once daylight saving function is enabled, the
t im e change will activat e aut om atically ev ery year based on t he
recur rence you set . Click the but t on .

10.Check “ En ab le Up g r ad e N ot i f icat i o n ” box if you want t o receive
not ificat ion when t here is a new er FW version. Click t he but t on.
11.Follow t he following in st ruct ion and select t he RAI D t ype y ou want t o
create. Click t he but t on.

For 2 bay unit , only RAI D 0 and 1 are available.
12. Review your set tings. I f t he set tings ar e correct , click t he Fi n i sh but t on
t o exit the set tings procedure and activate the syst em .
Once t he “ FI NI SH” butt on is click ed, t he u nit will st art w or king. I n order t o ensure t he
st abilit y of t he unit , never pull any disks out when t he syst em is runnin g.

Aft er set ting up t he unit , log in t o t he syst em by ent ering it s I P address in
t he brow ser ( I nt ernet Explorer 8 and lat er) . When connect ing, choose your
language, ent er t he user nam e and password, and t hen begin using t his
sy st em .
There are five m ain functions of t his unit: set tings, live view, playback, help,
and logou t . They will be show n on t he t op of t he page. Curr ent firm war e
version and free st orage capacity are shown above the function list .

The fu nction enables user t o aut om at ically sear ch and add cam eras in t he
sam e net work. There are t wo search m echanism s, one is UPnP, anot her is
cam era search t ool. Before searching UPnP cam eras, m ake sure t hat t he
cam eras possess UPnP funct ion. Refer to cam e r a su p p o r t l ist .
1. Open I nt ernet Explorer and log in t o t he unit .
2. Click I P Cam er a/ Cam er a Set t i n g s .
3. Click t he Ca m e r a Se a r ch t ab.

5. The syst em will list all the currently available cam eras. The insert ed
cam eras are shown in blue. Click t he icon t o add a cam era into your
cam era list .
6. Aft er clicking t h e icon, t he cam era set t ing page will pop up. Click t he
it em t o which y ou want t o add a cam era.
7. I nsert the cam era name, user nam e, and password.
To have bet ter com pat ibilit y between cam era and syst em , please m ake sure the
pr ivilege of cam era cr eden tial is adm in - lev el.
