NP-500 SIP Phone and Paging System Manual
Welcome to the NP-500 SIP Phone and Paging System. Setting up a new system is very easy. In a few
easy steps, we will assign an IP address, build the extensions, and group the extensions.
First, we must connect the Power to a working outlet and the Ethernet connection to the network.
Press the power button to turn the unit on after connecting the power and Ethernet.

The default IP address is: 10.0.3.40, default netmask is: 255.255.255.0 default gateway is: 10.0.3.1
Set a static IP on your laptop to anything in the 10.0.3.0/24 range.
Point your browser to: http://10.0.3.40

You will see the following screen:
If you need to set a different IP, click on “Network Configuration”
The username is: installer
The password is: Inst@ll3r (please note, the capital “I”)

Click on: “Network Configuration”
Click on: “Network Interfaces”:
Click on: the “Activated At Boot” Tab and click on: “eth0”:
Modify as necessary and click: “Save and Apply”.

Change your laptop’s IP to an IP in the new range and log in using the new IP.
Click: “Return to network interfaces” then click: “Return to network configuration” at the bottom of
the pages.
Click: “Routing and Gateways”.
Click: the “Boot Time Configuration” tab.
Modify as necessary then click: “Save”.
Click: “Logout”.
Close your browser window and open a new window. Browse to the IP of the NP-1000.

You are now ready to build your extension List.
Click: “Phone System Admin”
Username: installer
Password: Inst@ller
Next to extensions, click: “+Add”.
Fill out the form:
Ext = Extension Number, Example: “100”
Name = The Display Name, Example: “Master Bedroom”
Aliases = You can leave Blank
Vm enable = Voicemail Enable
Pin: = Voicemail Pin
Email address: User’s e-mail address
Click: “+Add another SIP_Account”
Username = Extension number or username of your choosing
Password = generated automatically
Device type: Choose your supported device type.

Click: “Save”
Once you have completed adding all the extensions, click home and then click: “+Add” next to Ring
Groups.
Ext = the extension you want to dial to activate the ring group. Example: 300
Descr = Description. Example: Front Gate
Type = Ring Group, Paging Group, or Multiroom Intercom (please note: Multiroom Intercom is under
development).
Members = Simply select the members that will ring or page.
Click: “Save”

Verify your programming:
Click on Extension Report.
Programming panels and phones:
Depending upon the device you are programming, you can choose either the Full SIP Account
Programming Detail of the Crestron Panel Programming Detail.
To program Crestron panels, simply click: the “Crestron Panel Programming Detail”.Log into the
particular device using text console and simply copy and paste the code from the browser into text
console.
To program phones, click: on “Full SIP account Programming Details”
Program the phones as per the manufacturer’s recommendations:

When all programming is complete, click: on “Phone System Reload” on the main page.

PLEASEREADTHESETERMSOFUSECAREFULLYBEFOREUSINGORINSTALLINGTHISPRODUCT.
ThisEnd‐UserLicenseAgreement(this“Agreement”)isalegalcontractbetweenyou,onbehalfofyourselfandanyentityforwhichyouhave
obtainedtheproductidentifiedabove(collectively“Licensee”)andNewYorkTechnologyCompany(“NYTC”)forproductsfromNYTCwhich
includescomputersoftwareandassociateddata,media,printeddocumentationprovidedin“online”orelectronicform(collectively,the
“Software”)andanyitemsofhardwarewhicharedeliveredtotheLicenseewiththesoftwarepreinstalled(“Hardware”)(collectively,the
“Product”).NYTC,and/oritsaffiliates,licensors,andassigneesownallproprietaryrightandtitle,includingcopyrightsinandtotheSoftware
andallcopiesthereof(includingwithoutlimitationallimages,videoandaudiotextincorporatedintotheSoftware)andaccompanyingmedia
andprintedmaterials,whichareprotectedbytheU.S.CopyrightandInternationaltreaties.ThecopyingoftheSoftwareoranyportionthereof
isstrictlyprohibitedbytheselawsandtreatyprovisions.
BYOPENINGORUSINGANYPARTOFTHEPRODUCT,YOUINDICATEYOURACCEPTANCEOFTHISAGREEMENTANDAGREETOBEBOUNDBYTHE
TERMSOFTHISAGREEMENT,INCLUDINGTHEWARRANTYDISCLAIMERS,LIMITATIONSOFLIABILITYANDTERMINATIONPROVISIONSBELOW.IF
YOUDONOTAGREETOTHETERMSOFTHISAGREEMENT,DONOTINSTALLTHISPRODUCTANDRETURNTHEPACKAGEANDACCOMPANYING
ITEMSTOTHEPLACEYOUOBTAINEDTHEMFROMWITHIN(10)TENDAYSOFRECEIPT.
1. USE.
1.1. UponyouracceptanceofthetermsofthisAgreement,NYTCherebygrantstoLicenseealimited,personal,non‐transferable,
non‐exclusiverighttousetheProductforinternalbusinessorpersonalpurposesonly.LicenseeisentitledtousetheSoftwareonlyonthe
Hardwareonwhichitwaspreinstalledandonlyinaccordancewiththeapplicableenduserdocumentation.Licenseemayrequireathirdparty
licensetocreate,copy,download,transfer,transmit,distributetoathirdparty,recordorsavethird‐partymediaorcontentfilesforplayback.
AllrightsnotexpresslylicensedtoLicenseeinthisAgreementarereservedbyNYTC.
1.2. LicenseeacknowledgesthattheSoftwareistheexclusivepropertyofNYTCanditslicensorsandcontainsvaluabletradesecrets.Licensee
agreestomaintaintheSoftwareinstrictconfidencepursuanttothetermsofthisAgreement.LicenseeagreesthatanyfailurebyLicenseeto
maintaintheSoftwareinstrictconfidencewillcauseNYTCirreparableinjuryandthusNYTCshallbeentitledtoequitablereliefwithoutaneed
todemonstrateirreparableinjuryortopostabond.
2. LIMITATIONS.
2.1. Licenseemaynotrent,leaseorlendtheSoftwareoranyportionthereof,orallowotherstodevelopmethodstousetheProduct,orrent
theProduct,orusetheProducttoprovideservicestothirdparties.LicenseemaynottransferanyoralloftherightsunderthisAgreementor
giveaccesstoalicensekeytoanythirdpersonnotapartytothisAgreement.LicenseeacknowledgesthattheProductissoldasasingleitem
andneithertheSoftwareinstalledontheProduct,noranysubsequentupgrades,maybeseparatedforusebytheLicensee.Licenseemaynot
reverseengineer,decompile,disassemble,modify,translate,makeanyattempttodiscoverthesourcecodeof,orcreatederivativeworksfrom
theSoftware,exceptandonlytotheextentthatsuchactivityisexpresslypermittedbyapplicablelawnotwithstandingthislimitation.Licensee
maynotincorporatetheSoftwareintoanyothersoftwareorsoftwarerelatedproduct.Licenseemaynotperformanybenchmarktestswithout
NYTC’spriorwrittenconsentandalsoagreesnottopublishanyresultsofbenchmarktestsrunontheProducttoathirdpartywithoutsuch
consent.
3. MAINTENANCE.NYTCoranauthorizedNYTCresellermayprovideLicenseewithmaintenanceservicesrelatedtotheProductbeyondthe
initialwarrantyperiodspecifiedinSection6.1foranadditionalfee.
4. TITLE.TitletotheHardwareunderthisAgreementshallvestintheLicenseeuponfullpaymenttoseller.Untilfullpaymenthasoccurred,
Licenseeshallnotbeentitledtosell,transfer,assignorotherwisedealinorencumbertheHardware.Anysuchtransfereeagreestobecomethe
assigneeoftheLicenseunderthetermsherein.
5. RISKOFLOSS.RiskoflosswithrespecttoHardwarepurchasedunderthisAgreementshallpasstoLicenseeupondeliverytothecarrierat
F.O.B.NYTC’sloadingdock.
6. WARRANTY.
6.1. LIMITEDWARRANTY.
6.1.1. Software.NYTCwarrantsthattheSoftwarewillsubstantiallyconformtoNYTC’spublishedspecificationsforninety(90)daysfrom
thedateofshipmenttotheoriginalLicenseebyNYTCoranauthorizedNYTCreseller.NYTCdoesnotprovideanywarrantywhatsoevertoany
useroftheSoftwaresubsequenttotheoriginalLicensee.NYTCdoesnotwarrantthattheSoftwarewillbeerror‐freeoroperatewithout
interruption.NYTCoranauthorizedNYTCresellerwillsupply,freeofcharge,updates,patches,bug‐fixesorreplacementsoftheSoftwareas
necessarytocorrecterrorsormalfunctionsintheSoftwareduringtheSoftwarewarrantyperiod.Anyreplacementwillbewarrantedfromthe
remainderoftheoriginalwarrantyor(30)thirtydays,whicheverislonger.Thiswarrantyshallnotapplyto:defectsotherthanthosewhich
resultfromtheSoftwaremateriallyfailingtomeetNYTC’spublishedspecifications;defectsrelatedtomisuse,neglect,accident,orabuseofthe
Software;defectsintheSoftwarecausedbyorresultingfromanymodificationoftheSoftware;defectsappearingwhentheSoftwareisusedin
violationofthisAgreement.
6.1.2. Hardware.NYTCwarrantsthatHardwarewillbefreeofdefectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipandwillconformtoNYTC’spublished
specificationsforoneyearfromthedateofshipmenttotheoriginalLicenseebyNYTCoranauthorizedNYTCreseller.NYTCdoesnotprovide
anywarrantywhatsoevertoanyuseroftheSoftwaresubsequenttotheoriginalLicensee. DuringtheHardwarewarrantyperiod,NYTCoran
authorizedNYTCresellerwill,atitsoptionandexpense,repair,modify,orreplacedefectiveHardwarewithinfifteen(15)businessdaysafter

NYTCoranauthorizedNYTCresellerreceivesthedefectiveHardware.LicenseemustobtainfromNYTCoranauthorizedNYTCreselleraReturn
MaterialsAuthorization(RMA),authorizingandspecifyingproceduresforthereturnofanydefectiveHardware.ProductsreturnedtoNYTCor
anauthorizedNYTCresellerwithoutanRMAwillbereturnedtoLicenseeatLicensee’sexpense.AllHardwarereturnedtoNYTCoran
authorizedNYTCresellermustbeproperlypackagedwithpostageprepaid.Replacementpartsmaycontainrecycled,refurbished,or
remanufacturedpartsequivalenttonewpartsandarewarrantedforthegreateroftheremainderoftheoriginalHardwarewarrantyperiodor
thirty(30)days.Thiswarrantyshallnotapplyto(a)suppliesandconsumables,(b)Productswithoriginalidentificationmarksremovedor
altered,(c)ProductsnotmanufacturedbyNYTC,or(d)Productswithdefectsorfailuresdueto:disaster,accident,neglect,ormisuse;failureor
defectofelectricalpower,externalelectricalcircuitry,airconditioning,orhumiditycontrol;useofProductswithitemsnotprovidedor
approvedinwritingbyNYTC;useoftheProductsotherthanaccordingtoNYTC’spublishedspecificationsandinstructions;ormodifications,
adjustments,repairs,orserviceprovidedbyanyoneotherthanNYTCoritsauthorizedserviceprovider.
6.2. NOOTHERWARRANTY.EXCEPTASEXPRESSLYSTATEDINTHISAGREEMENT,THEPRODUCTPROVIDEDUNDERTHISAGREEMENTIS
PROVIDEDBYNYTCONAN“ASIS”BASIS.LICENSEEASSUMESALLRESPONSIBILITIESFORTHESELECTIONOFTHEPRODUCTTOACHIEVETHE
INTENDEDRESULTSANDFORTHEINSTALLATIONOF,USEOFANDRESULTSOBTAINEDFROMTHEPRODUCT.NYTCDOESNOTWARRANTTHE
PERFORMANCEORTHERESULTSLICENSEEMAYOBTAINBYUSINGTHEPRODUCTANDDISCLAIMSALLWARRANTIES(EXCLUDINGTHELIMITED
WARRANTYINSECTION6.1),EITHEREXPRESSORIMPLIED,INCLUDINGBUTNOTLIMITEDTO,IMPLIEDWARRANTIESOFMERCHANTABILITY,
FITNESSFORAPARTICULARPURPOSEANDNONINFRINGEMENTOFTHIRDPARTYRIGHTSWITHRESPECTTOPRODUCTANDTHE
ACCOMPANYINGWRITTENMATERIALS.SOMESTATESORJURISDICTIONSDONOTALLOWTHEEXCLUSIONOFEXPRESSORIMPLIED
WARRANTIES,SOTHEABOVEEXCLUSIONMAYNOTAPPLYTOYOU.INTHATEVENT,SUCHWARRANTIESARELIMITEDINDURATIONTOTHE
WARRANTYPERIOD.NOWARRANTIESAPPLYAFTERTHATPERIOD.SOMESTATESORJURISDICTIONSDONOTALLOWLIMITATIONSONHOW
LONGANIMPLIEDWARRANTYLASTS,SOTHEFOREGOINGLIMITATIONMAYNOTAPPLYTOYOU.
7. LIMITOFLIABILITY.LICENSEEASSUMESTHEENTIRECOSTOFANYDAMAGERESULTINGFROMTHEINFORMATIONCONTAINEDINOR
COMPILEDBYTHEPRODUCT.INNOEVENTWILLNYTCORITSDISTRIBUTORSBELIABLEFORANYCONSEQUENTIAL,PUNTITIVE,SPECIAL,
INDIRECTOREXEMPLARYDAMAGESWHATSOEVERINCLUDING,WITHOUTLIMITATION,DAMAGESFORLOSSOFBUSINESSPROFITS,BUSINESS
INTERRUPTION,LOSSOFBUSINESSINFORMATIONOROTHERPECUNIARYLOSSARISINGOUTOFTHEUSEORINABILITYTOUSETHEPRODUCT,
EVENIFSUCHPARTYHASBEENADVISEDOFTHEPOSSIBILITYOFSUCHDAMAGES.SOMEJURISDICTIONSDONOTALLOWTHEEXCLUSIONOR
LIMITATIONOFINCIDENTALORCONSEQUENTIALDAMAGES,SOTHEABOVELIMITATIONOREXCLUSIONMAYNOTAPPLYTOYOU.
INNOEVENTWILLNYTC’STOTALLIABILITYTOLICENSEEFORANYCLAIMS,WHETHERBASEDINCONTRACT,TORT,OROTHERWISE,EXCEEDTHE
AMOUNTPAIDBYLICENSEEFORTHEPRODUCT.THISLIMITATIONWILLAPPLYREGARDLESSOFTHEFAILUREOFTHEESSENTIALPURPOSEOF
ANYLIMITEDREMEDY.SOMEJURISDICTIONSDONOTALLOWEXCLUSIONOFLIABILITYORLIMITATIONSONCLAIMSRELATEDTOPERSONAL
INJURYANDDAMAGETOREALPROPERTYORTANGIBLEPERSONALPROPERTY.INSUCHEVENT,NYTCSHALL,WHEREPERMITTEDBY
APPLICABLELAW,ONLYBELIABLE:(i)TOTHEEXTENTSUCHDAMAGESARECAUSEDBYITSNEGLIGENCE;AND(ii)FOROTHERACTUAL
DAMAGESUPTOTHEAMOUNTPAIDBYLICENSEEFORTHEPRODUCTTHATISTHESUBJECTOFTHECLAIMORTHATGIVESRISETOTHECLAIM.
8. OPENSOURCESOFTWARE.
8.1. TheProductsincludecertainopensourcesoftware.Thisopensourcesoftwareisgovernedbythetermsandconditionsoftheapplicable
opensourcelicense,andyouareboundbythetermsandconditionsoftheapplicableopensourcelicenseinconnectionwithyouruseand
distributionoftheopensourcesoftwareinthisproduct.TheopensourcesoftwareincludedintheProductsareidentifiedwithinthe“Support”
sectionatwww.nytechco.com,andyouagreetocomplywithallsuchlicensesandothernotices.Ifyoudonotagreetosuchterms,youmaynot
install,download,orotherwiseusetheopensourcesoftware.
9. INDEMNIFICATIONS.
9.1. NYTCDefenseofCopyrightClaims.NYTCwilldefendLicenseeagainstanyclaimbyanunaffiliatedthirdpartyofLicenseethatthe
Softwareinfringesitscopyright,andwillpaytheamountofanyresultingadversefinaljudgment(orsettlementtowhichNYTCconsents),
subjecttoapplicabletermsofthisAgreement.LicenseemustnotifyNYTCpromptlyinwritingoftheclaimandgiveNYTCsolecontroloverits
defenseorsettlement.LicenseeagreestoprovideNYTCwithreasonableassistanceindefendingtheclaim.NYTC’sobligationswillnotapplyto
theextentthatanyclaimoradversefinaljudgmentisbasedon(i)useoftheSoftwareafterNYTCnotifiesLicenseethatLicensee’suseofthe
Softwaremustbediscontinuedduetosuchaclaim;(ii)combiningtheSoftwarewithothertechnologyincludingothercomputersoftwareor
othermaterials;(iii)useof,oraccessto,theSoftwarebyanypersonorentityotherthanLicenseeaspermittedherein;or(iv)analterationof
theSoftwarebysomeoneotherthanNYTCoritscontractors.LicenseewillreimburseNYTCforanycostsordamagesthatresultfromthese
activitiestotheextentcausedorresultingfromthefaultofLicensee,itsdirectors,offices,employees,contractors,agents,orassignees.
IfNYTCreceivesinformationconcerningacopyrightinfringementclaim,itmay,atitsexpenseandwithoutobligationtodoso,either(i)procure
forLicenseetherighttocontinuetousetheallegedlyinfringingtheSoftware,or(ii)modifySoftwaretomakeitnon‐infringing,or(iii)replaceit
withanon‐infringingfunctionalequivalent,inwhichcaseLicenseewillstopusingtheallegedlyinfringingSoftwareimmediately.
Ifhowever,asaresultofacopyrightinfringementclaim,useoftheSoftwareisenjoinedbyacourtofcompetentjurisdiction,NYTCwilluse
commerciallyreasonableeffortstoeitherprocuretherighttocontinueitsuse,modifyittomakeitnoninfringing,orreplaceitwitha
non‐infringingfunctionalequivalent.
9.2. Licenseeshall,atitssoleexpense,defendorsettleanysuitorclaimbroughtagainstNYTC,itslicensors,agentsorsuppliers,andshall
indemnifyandholdNYTCanditslicensors,agentsandsuppliersandtheirrespectiveofficersanddirectorsharmlessfromandagainstanyand
allliabilitiesandexpenses(includingreasonablelegalexpenses)incurred,resultingfromorarisingoutofaclaimthatLicensee’sunauthorized
useinfringesanythirdpartyrights.
10. AUDIT.Uponwrittennotice,NYTCshallhavetherighttoauditthecomplianceofLicenseewiththisAgreement.Licenseeshallprovidefull
andfreeaccesstoallbooks,records,systems,andmaterialsrequestedbyNYTC.Intheeventofdiscrepancies,withoutlimitinganyofNYTC’s
otherrightsorremediesavailableatlaworinequity,Licenseeshallimmediatelytakeanyandallstepsnecessarytocomplywiththetermsof
thisAgreementandLicenseeshallimmediatelypaytoNYTCanysumsowedandNYTC’scostoftheaudit.

11. GENERAL.
11.1. WAIVER.NowaiverbyeitherpartyofanydefaultorbreachofanyobligationunderthisAgreementoftheotherpartyheretoshall
operateasawaiverofanycontinuingorfuturedefaultorbreach.
11.2. NOTICES.Allnotices,requests,demands,waiversandothercommunicationsrequiredorpermittedtobegivenunderthisAgreementto
NYTCshallbeinwritingandshallbedeemedtohavebeendulygivenifdeliveredpersonallyormailed,certifiedorregisteredmailwithpostage
prepaid,toitscurrentheadquartersaddressasindicatedonitswebsitewww.nytechco.com(oratsuchotheraddress,faxnumberoremail
addressforapartyasshallbespecifiedbylikenotice).
11.3. GOVERNINGLAW.ThisAgreementandanydisputeornon‐contractualobligationarisingoutoforinconnectionwithitwillbegoverned
byandconstruedinaccordancewiththelawsoftheStateofNewYork,withoutreferencetotheprinciplesofconflictsoflawthatwouldapply
thesubstantivelawsofanotherjurisdiction.TheUnitedNationsConventiononContractsfortheInternationalSaleofGoodsshallnotapplyto
thisAgreementandisherebydisclaimed.Eachpartyherebysubmitstotheexclusivejurisdictionofthecourts,stateorfederal,sittinginNew
YorkCityoveranydisputearisingoutoforinconnectionwiththisAgreementandwaivestherighttoobjecttosuchvenueormakeaclaimof
forumnonconveniens.Notwithstandingtheforegoing,nothingshallpreventeitherpartyfromcommencinglegalproceedingsforthepurpose
ofseekingimmediatepreventativerelief(suchasaninjunctionortheequivalent)intheappropriatejurisdiction.
11.4. TERMINATION.ThislicenseshallbeautomaticallyterminatedifLicenseefailstocomplywiththetermsandconditionsofthisAgreement.
Insuchevent,LicenseemustdestroyallcopiesoftheSoftwareandallofitscomponentparts.
11.5. ASSIGNMENT;NOTHIRDPARTYBENEFICIARIES.ThisAgreementmaynotbeassignedbyLicenseewithoutNYTC’sexpresswritten
consent.ThepartiesagreethattherearenothirdpartybeneficiariestothisAgreement,andnothirdpartycanclaimanyrightsunderorbring
suittoenforcethetermsofthisAgreement.
12. EXPORTRESTRICTIONS.Licenseemaynotexportorre‐exporttheProduct(a)intoortoanationorcountrytowhichtheUnitedStateshas
embargoedgoods,or(b)toanyoneontheUnitedStatesTreasuryDepartment’slistofSpeciallyDesignatedNationalsortheUnitedStates
CommerceDepartment’sTableofDenyOrders.ByinstallingorusingtheProduct,youarerepresentingandwarrantingthatyouarenotlocated
in,underthecontrolof,oranationalorresidentofanysuchcountryoronanysuchlist.
13. BYINSTALLING,COPYING,OROTHERWISEUSINGTHEPRODUCT,LICENSEEAGREESTOBEBOUNDBYTHETERMSOFTHISAGREEMENT,
INCLUDINGTHEWARRANTYDISCLAIMERS,LIMITATIONSOFLIABILITYANDTERMINATIONPROVISIONSABOVE.
