FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE BLINC
Please refer to the images to the left, and take a
moment to familiarize yourself with the Occly
Blinc.
The Occly System Includes both a Device and
Mobile App.
PREPARING THE BLINC FOR USE
Step 1:
Before first use, please ensure you have fully
charged your Blinc. A charger is included with
every Occly Blinc and the charging port is locat-
ed on the bottom left side. Simply pull back the
protective rubber flap and insert the USB char-
ger into the Blinc to begin charging. Please allow
2-4 hours to fully charge your Blinc for the first
time. Charge level is also indicated within the
Occly app.
Step 2:
Please visit Google Play Store or Apple App
Store to download and install the Occly mobile
application. You can find it by searching for
"Occly".
Step 3:
Once you have charged the Occly device and
downloaded the Occly App, the next step is to
pair the Blinc to your phone.

PAIRING THE BLINC WITH YOUR PHONE
To pair the Occly Blinc with your phone please follow these instructions:
• Turn on the Occly Blinc using the power button to begin the pairing process
• Enable Bluetooth on your mobile phone and scan for new devices
• The Occly Blinc will show on the available device list as “Occly_XXXX”, with the X’s representing the
last 4 characters of your Blinc’s serial located on the back of your Blinc.
• Select your Occly Blinc. Make sure it is paired and listed under your paired devices.
• Open the Occly mobile application and log in using your email address and password provided during
account registration. If you ordered your Blinc at www.occly.com this will be the same user informa-
tion. If you have not yet created an Occly account, please visit www.occly.com to register or see page
8 for detailed instructions.
• Go to menu and select “DEVICE”
• Select “PAIR DEVICE”. You will see your Occly Blinc show up on the list of “DEVICES”
• Select your Blinc. You should hear a chirp sound telling you that the connection was successful.
• On the home screen, you should now have a green shield with the word “Online” next to it to let you
know that you are now actively protected by Blinc.
• Return to the Home Screen. You should now see a green shield next to the word "Online" in the
bottom left.
USING THE BLINC
On - To turn on your Blinc, press the on/off button once.
Off -To turn off your Blinc, select the online shield at the bottom left of the home screen or select
Device from the menu, then select “Turn Off Blinc”. If the Blinc is not currently connected to your
phone, press and hold the power button for approximately 6 seconds.
Triggering an Alarm- To alarm, push the alarm button TWICE rapidly on the Blinc. Alarms can also be
triggered by tapping the green Occly icon TWICE rapidly on the app Home or Crime Map screen.
Disarming an Alarm – To disable an active alarm, enter your 4-digit personal cancellation code on the
keypad that appears in the app. If you have not logged into your account to set a 4-digit personal alarm
cancellation code, the default disable code is 0000. Your 4-digit code can be changed by logging into
your account at www.occly.com (See page 13 for detailed instructions) If you are ever forced to enter
your password against your will, you can enter your Duress Code, which is 1 number higher than your
cancellation code. e.g.: If your cancellation code is 5555, your duress code is 5556.

After the device has completed pairing, your phone will remember your device and pair automatically with the Occly app. If
you have difficulty pairing the Blinc or need to pair to another phone please see page 15.

USING THE BLINC(cont.)
Armed (Green Occly icon) - When the green Occly Shield is armed, this means your phone is connected
to the Occly service.
Disarmed (Grey Occly icon) - When the Occly Shield is grey, this means that your Blinc or cellular device
cannot connect to the Occly network. (This may also be shown as “live monitoring not available” – live
monitoring paid only). Please check your cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
Phone Number – The phone number at the top of the screen is your phone number. The first 6 digits are
shown as X’s for your privacy.
Ambient/Utility Light - To turn on the ambient light, press the power/utility light button on the Blinc or
by tapping the lightbulb icon at the bottom left of the app home screen. To turn on the flashlight, press
the button again. To turn the lighting off, press the button a 3rd time.
Battery Indicator - The battery indicator shows the battery level of your Occly Blinc. This indicator will
animate when your Blinc is charging.
Active Mode - This mode is indicated by the runner icon at the bottom of the screen. This mode means
your Blinc is ready to be worn and taken along with you. This can be toggled to HomeWatch mode by
tapping this icon (See HomeWatch mode).
HomeWatch Mode - (Paid subscriptions only) HomeWatch is Blinc’s built-in motion and sound detection
feature to protect against home intrustion. When placed in an appropriate location in your home/hotel
room, it will alert you and the monitoring station if any motion or sound is detected. Volume sensitivity
for the sound detection feature can be adjusted in the settings menu of the app.
Before using HomeWatch, place the Blinc in the metal stand included with your Blinc and face the Blinc
towards your door or other area of entry. Connect the included charger if extended use is required.
To activate the HomeWatch mode, tap the runner icon at the bottom of the home screen. If you have an
address entered into your HomeWatch Addresses section of the app, it will allow you to select it. If not,
please enter the current address where you are located. This allows the monitoring center to verify your
exact location during an emergency.
After selecting an address, the Blinc will show a moon in place of the runner icon. After 15 seconds with
no motion in front of the Blinc a confirmation tone will sound and the system will arm. To disable
HomeWatch mode, tap the moon icon on the home screen.

D. Device Screen
You will find a list of Occly devices that are available to
connect to. Your Blinc device will be selectable from
this list.
Un-pair the Blinc from the Occly app (does not un-pair
from your phone)
Turn off your Blinc. Note: Alarms will no longer process
from your Blinc when it is off
Customize when you’d like to be reminded to take your
device.
Update Blinc firmware (when available)
Puts your Blinc online. Make sure you power on your
Blinc before pressing this button.

E. Settings Menu
AMBIENT LIGHT/FLASHLIGHT - LOW: Ambient,
HIGH: Flashlight
CROWDHELP™ - Notifies user when an alarm is triggered
from a nearby Occly user, or from the app.
IMPACT SENSOR - Used for triggering automatic alarms.
Senses and measures any sudden impacts. Best for when
using while riding your bike or in a vehicle.
BLINC ALERTS - Get alerts about Occly push
notifications. Lights will Flash when push messages are
received.
BELT CLIP ALARM – Activate alarm if belt clip unfastens.
HOMEWATCH™ SOUND LEVEL - Used to adjust volumn
sensitivity when Blinc is in HomeWatch™. Eg: “Low”
setting will trigger alarm when softer sounds are
detected. LOW/MEDIUM/HIGH setting.
SOCIAL MEDIA -
Reminds you to let others know you are
protected by Blinc via social media when the app is opened.
ALARM – Alarm will activate if Blinc and Phone lose
Bluetooth connection.
SILENT ALARM - Disables sound and lights during alarms.

REGISTER YOUR ACCOUNT WITH OCCLY
If you purchased a Blinc through the Occly website, you already have an account setup. If you received a
Blinc as a gift, you will need to register an account to use the Occly app. Accounts can be created inside
the Occly app or by visiting https://www.occly.com/register
OCCLY WEB PORTAL
Via the App: Tap the Menu icon inside the Occly App and select “Account”. Then tap the “My Account”
button to load your account information.
Via the Web: To access “My Account” online please visit www.occly.com and then click the “My Account”
icon at the top right corner of the screen circled in red below. Login using the email address and password
that you registered with when you created your Occly account.

Once you access your account, you will see the “Account Menu” shown in the photo below:
VIEWING/EDITING YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION
To view/edit your account information select the “View/Edit your account information” tab.
When you select this tab, you’ll see the web page pictured below. Here, you can edit the first and last
name on the account, the email address, phone number and whether or not you have the device. Once
you have made all the desired changes, press SAVE.

CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD
To change your password for your Occly account select the “Change your password” or “Password” tab.
This is the same password used to login to the Occly app. Enter your old password and then enter a new
password as shown below. We suggest that you use a strong password. You can strengthen your
password by using letters, numbers, capitalization, symbols etc. When you have confirmed your new
password, select SAVE.
UPDATING YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION
To update your credit card information, select the “Modify your credit card info” tab or “Credit Card” tab.
Occly LLC does NOT store your credit card information, upon clicking this tab you will see the message
below. Select “CONTINUE” to be directed to our secure credit card processor and update your credit card
information accordingly.

UPDATING PERSONAL INFO
You can access the customer portal by selecting the “Customer Portal” tab. Here you can modify your
personal information including your mobile phone number (This is the number that Occly monitoring
will call during an alarm).

EMERGENCY CONTACTS
The emergency contacts tab allows you to enter up to 3 family members or friends that will automati-
cally be contacted via text message during an alarm. They will be provided with your name, and a link
to your current GPS location.
To input or update your emergency contacts select the Emergency Contacts tab within the Customer
Portal. Input the first and last name of your emergency contact, along with their cell phone number.
When you are finished, SELECT SAVE.
Upon selecting SAVE, your emergency contact(s) will receive a text message to their phone that reads:
“(Your name), wants you to receive text messages in case if an emergency happens to him or her. Reply
‘Occly’ if you agree. Thank you”
*Until the person you listed as your emergency contact has responded ‘Occly’ to this message, they
WILL NOT be contacted in case of an emergency. This ensures that your Emergency Contact(s) have
given permission for Occly to contact them in the case of an emergency.*

MY HOMEWATCH ADDRESSES
To add or edit HomeWatch addresses, select the HomeWatch Addresses tab within the Customer Portal. Fill
in the necessary information, then press SAVE. When enabling HomeWatch you will be asked to select one of
the following addresses.
ALARM CODE
To change your 4-digit alarm cancellation code select the “Alarm Code” tab under customer portal. Here you
can edit your 4-digit alarm cancellation code. Once you have entered the desired cancellation code press
SAVE. Beneath the cancellation code, is a duress code that can be used if you are forced against your will to
disable the Blinc. If this code is used, the Blinc and the app will appear to have been disabled, but the Blinc
will continue to take pictures, record audio, and notify the monitoring center for you.

MY PHONE
The My Phone tab within the Customer Portal allows you to view the phone currently associated with
your Occly account. To use your Occly account with a different phone, press the De-authorize button
shown below. This is necessary when you change or receive a new phone.
MY ALARMS
The My Alarms tab is where you can review any prior alarm images and audio recordings. It will also pro-
vide Date, Time, GPS, and other information about the alarm. Click the View button next to the alarm to
view alarm details.

LOGGING OUT
To log out of your customer portal, go to the top right-hand side of the screen and select Logout. The
logout button is circled in red below.
If you have difficulty pairing the Blinc or need to pair to another phone please use the following
procedure:
1. If your Blinc is currently on, turn it off by holding the power button for approximately 6 seconds. All
lights on the Blinc will flash when successfully powered off.
2. With one hand, press and hold the alarm button. With the other hand press and release the power
button.
3. Continue holding the alarm button until the side lights begin to flash.
4. Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings section and pair Blinc to your phone.
5. Once paired, power down your Blinc by holding the power button for approximately 6 seconds.
6. You may now turn the Blinc back on for use.
