contact Omega Altise on 1300 795 572 in Australia or (09) 415 6000 in New Zealand before
operating your appliance.
1. Read all instructions carefully before using the heater.
2. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may
cause fire, electrical shock, or injury to persons. Do not modify this appliance.
3. Remove the package and ensure that the appliance is undamaged (keep packing box for later storage). In case
of doubt do not use the appliance and contact Omega Altise Service. Do not let children play with any parts of
the packaging.
4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance. Extreme caution is necessary when the heater is used by or near children or
individuals with decreased mental and physical capacity and whenever the heater is left operating unattended.
5. Before you use the appliance, check if the voltage marked on the rating label corresponds to the mains in your
home. The appliance must be connected to a grounded power supply.
6. Avoid using extension cords as the extension cord may overheat and cause a risk of fire. If the use of an extension
cord cannot be avoided, always use one with a minimum rating of 13Amps. Do not use this appliance with a
programmer, timer or any other device that switches the appliance on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the
appliance is covered or positioned incorrectly.
7. Do not pull the power cord to disconnect with the power source. Always grasp the plug to pull it out.
8. Do not run power cords under rugs or other combustible materials. Do not place power cords in areas where they
can be a tripping hazard. Do not operate directly below a power outlet.
9. Do not insert any objects into the heater as it may cause an electric shock or fire or damage to the heater. Do not
block or tamper with the heater in any manner while it is in operation. To prevent a possible fire, do not cover the
appliance in any manner. Do not place on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
10. Do not leave the heater unattended. Always unplug the heater when not in use.
WARNING: The Function Switches should not be used as the sole means of disconnecting power.
Always unplug the power cord before servicing or moving the unit.
11. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Always use the handle when
moving the heater (where available) or hold on the sides if not available (make sure the unit is turned off). Keep
combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 1m from the heater
to the sides, front, rear & top.
12. The heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. It must NOT be used in potentially dangerous locations such
as flammable, explosive, chemical-laden, corrosive, salty or wet atmospheres. This heater is intended for general
indoor domestic use ONLY.
13. This heater is not intended for use in wet or damp locations. Never locate a heater where it may fall into a bathtub
or other water container.
14. Do not use the heater outdoors.
15. This heater includes a tilt switch that turns the heater off if it falls over. Once righted, the heater will completely
reset and can be used as normal.
16. Always move or hold the heater from the top & bottom of the appliance, where less heat is generated.
17. NOTE that the majority of heat generated is expelled from underneath the heater. Do not run while placed on
carpet or other combustible materials. Always close the control panel door while in use.
WARNING:
To avoid danger of electric shock, unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. If the
supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its Service Agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the
heater. The heater must NOT be located immediately below a socket outlet. Do not use the
heater in the immediate surrounding of a bath, shower or swimming pool.

GENERAL HEATER PARTS
GETTING STARTED
1. Carefully remove the heater from the plastic bag and the carton, and unwind the cord to its full length.
2. Place the heater onto a stable, flat and dry surface. Do not place the heater directly on carpet as the heat
generated may damage some carpets.
3. Set all switches to the off position (press down). Plug the cord set into a 230-240V~A.C. 50Hz earthed electrical
outlet. Turn the power on at the electrical outlet.
PLEASE NOTE: The heater will only operate if the thermostat control is set to a higher temperature than the
temperature of the room it is in. The heat is generated from the bottom of the heater. The top
section of the heater (the flame effect) is not hot, and is for display only.
CONTROLS
All of the controls are behind the control door. Grasp
the central door knob and pull down.
K1: Thermostat. The thermostat knob is adjusted to
run the heater up to a set temperature & then go into
a stand-by mode. Turn anti-clockwise to decrease the
temperature and clockwise to increase the
temperature.
S1: Fan Switch: The fan switch turns the fan on and
off. Press the switch up (LED on) to start the fan. This is
independent of the thermostat setting. Note: the fan must be switched on for the heating elements to run.
S2: 900W Element Switch: This turns the first 900W heating element on and off. Press the switch up (LED on) to
turn the element on.
S3: 900W Element Switch: This turns the second 900W heating element on and off. Press the switch up (LED on)
to turn the element on. Note: The 2 heating elements can be run separately or together (to produce more heat).
S4 Flame Effect Switch: This turns the flame effect on and off. Press the switch up (LED on) to start the flame
effect. This function runs independently from the fan and the thermostat.
K2: Flame Effect Brightness Knob: Turn the knob clockwise to make the flame effect brighter, or anti-clockwise
to make it duller.

HEATING
For greater economy, use the high heat setting initially and then turn down to the low heat setting when the
required temperature is reached. Please note that the fan speed remains the same when changing heat setting;
only the heating elements are adjusted. Note: The thermostat control should be at a higher temperature than the
room temperature, otherwise the elements and fan will not work.
To turn the heater off, turn the fan switch off (down).
THERMOSTAT CONTROL
The thermostat knob is used to control the room temperature. It acts as an on/off switch for the heating elements
and does not vary the heat from the elements. To set the temperature:
1. Turn the thermostat knob fully clockwise until the maximum temperature setting is reached.
2. Once the desired room temperature has been reached, very slowly turn the thermostat anti-clockwise until there
is an auditable click. The thermostat has turned off and the elements will stop producing heat. Turn the
thermostat knob slightly clockwise until the click is heard again and leave at that position.
3. The heater elements will now turn off and on automatically, maintaining the room temperature you have set. To
increase or reduce this temperature, the thermostat control should be adjusted accordingly.
DOORS
There are 2 doors on this heater.
A) The control panel door is just above the legs. It is opened by grasping the central knob and pulling down,
giving access to the control panel. Do not run the appliance with this door left open, as the heat from the
outlet may make the door and handle hot. To close, push back into position until the magnets hold it in
place.
B) The main door is in front of the flame effect. This can be opened with the door handle at the right hand side.
There are no consumer adjustable components inside and the opening door is for cleaning or decorative
effect only. The door shuts in the same way as the control panel door.

SAFETY FEATURES
1. A thermal overload protector is built in to prevent overheating.
2. When an overheat temperature is reached, the heater will automatically shut off. It can only resume operation
when the user resets the unit (see reset instructions below).
To reset your heater:
1. Unplug the heater and wait between 5-10 minutes for the unit to cool down.
2. Then, turn on the unit again and operate normally.
CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not
be supplied through an external switching device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly
switched on and off by the utility.
A tilt switch is built into this appliance. If tipped over the appliance will shut off. Right the appliance to restart.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
WARNING: ALWAYS UNPLUG THE CORD BEFORE MOVING OR SERVICING, DO NOT
IMMERSE HEATER IN WATER!
Clean the body of the heater with a soft damp cloth. Always make sure that the heater is completely dry before
connecting back to the mains supply.

HINTS & TIPS
Where possible your electric heater should be connected to a power outlet that uses a separate 10 amp power
circuit. This will avoid overloading your household fuse.
In the event that your household fuse is overloaded and trips, please note this is normally caused by the use of
excessive power outlets at the same time your heater is operating (for example, a steam iron, kettle, toaster etc.).
Please ensure to check the use of the power circuit and adjust when heater is in use (i.e. turn off the heater when
boiling a kettle).
Should you still experience difficulty contact Omega Altise Service for assistance.
