Pipe Material - Menu screen 14
Pipe Liner Material - Menu screen 16 - select "none" for pipes with no liner otherwise select the
liner material. If a liner is selected, enter the liner thickness in menu screen 18
Record Spacing - Menu screen 25 is the optimal transducer spacing that is required for the pipe
dimensions programmed in the steps above. You'll need to know this number when you install
the transducers.
YOU MUST SAVE THE NEW SETTINGS!! - use menu screen 26 to "solidify" or save the
settings changes made above.
6 Program Relay/Buzzer/Flasher Trigger (Optional)
The unit is shipped to close the relay/sound alarm/flash LED if "Alarm #1" is ON and open the relay if
"Alarm #1" is OFF. If you plan to use the relay will need to configure "alarm #1" using menu screen 73
for lower limit of flow rate and screen 74 for upper limit of flow rate. There are many more options than
flow rate for relay control, please contact us for more information. To disable the audible alarm or relay
use menu 78 and 79, respectively, and set to disable which is menu option #25. Relay terminals 21/11
are common, 24/14 are NO and 22/12 are NC.
YOU MUST SAVE THE NEW SETTINGS!! - use menu screen 26 to "solidify" or save the
settings changes made above.
7 Verify Transducer Type Is Set Correctly
Go to Menu 23 and set the transducer type to "16 - Clamp-On TM-1" if its not already set to that value.
8 Install Ultrasonic Transducers
The meter uses two ultrasonic transducers.
One is labeled "Up" and is mounted upstream
and one is labeled "Down" and is mounted
downstream. Transducers must be mounted "in
line" and the spacing between them must be the
value displayed in menu screen 25 "Spacing".
YOU MUST USE the supplied silicone grease
between the face of the transducer and the
pipe to enable the acoustic coupling OR
YOUR FLOW METER WILL NOT WORK. Use
the supplied stainless steel hose clamps to securely clamp the transducers to the pipe.
9 Check That The Signal Quality Is Acceptable
Go to menu screen 90 "Strength+Quality". Strength is from 0-100, higher numbers are better, 70+ is
normal. Quality is from 0-100, higher is better, and must be at least 50 and 60-90 is normal. To
improve these numbers try making slow adjustments to the transducer spacing and watch the numbers
to see if your changes are helping. If you can not achieve the minimum numbers you should check
your pipe settings are correct, make sure you used enough silicone grease, make sure the pipe is
100% full of water with no air bubbles or debris in the pipe and make sure sensors are in line with each
other and mounted on the top of the pipe.
