1. Generalguidelines
ThisOperatingmanual,includingspecifications,isauser’sguideforthecomputerinfraredimagingdevice
forexaminationsinreal‐time,modelTkVr‐IfP"SVIT"(hereafterreferringtoasInfraredcameraSVIT).
ReadthisOperatingmanualbeforeutilizingtheInfraredcameraSVIT.
2. Utilization
2.1.InfraredcameraSVITisintendedforobtainingofthethermalimageofpatients(thermogram)and
measurementofthetemperatureatanypointofthebodyofpatientwithoutthephysicalcontact
withhim/her.
Infraredcameraisusedin:oncology,therapy,urology,mammalogy,traumatology,angiologyand
otherregionsofmedicinefortheearly,preventivediagnosisofawholeseriesofdiseasesbefore
theappearanceofcomplaintsofpatientanddestructivechangesinthecloths
Infraredcameraisdevelopedwiththeuseoflatestachievementsinthetechnologyofthe
semiconductordetectorsofinfraredradiation.
Thedevicehasanumberofnewdiagnosticabilities.
2.2.Utilizationofthedeviceisabsolutelyharmlessforboththepatientsandmedicalpersonnel.
Thereforethemeasurementprocedurecanbeperformedrepeatedly.
Theresultsofmeasurementsaremappedontothescreenofpersonalcomputer,areprocessedby
softwareofthecameraandarememorized.
Theinfraredcameraisintendedforperformingexaminationsinhealthcentersandclinics.
2.3.TheinfraredcameraisdesignedinaccordancewithclimateconditionsofEUstandards,butshallbe
usedat22‐26Ctemperature,atmospherepressureof630‐800mmHgandrelativehumidityshall
notexceed80%.
2.4.Nooutsidesourcesofinfraredradiation(electricalheatinginstruments,incandescentlamps)canbe
presentinthediagnosticroom.Straightsunlightalsostronglyinfluencesthequalityoftheobtained
thermograms;thereforeblindsshouldbeinstalledonthewindows.

Thedevicesetconsistsofthefollowingitems:

Allmaterialbodieswiththetemperatureabove‐273Kemittheelectromagneticradiation,whichin
accordancetothePlanckformulacanbepresentedintheform,shownonFig.1(thedependenceofthe
emissionofphotonsonthewavelengthattwotemperaturesofblackbodyisshown).Withanincreaseinthe
temperatureofobjectsthenumberofemittedquantaofradiation(IR‐radiation)withthefixedwavelength
increases.Apuregainintheflowwithanincreaseinthetemperatureincreaseswiththedecreaseof
wavelengthandthereforeshort‐waverphotoreceiverwiththeregistrationofthethermalimageofobjectcan
giveaveryhigh‐contrastimage.Photoreceiverdevices,sensitiveintherangeof2,65‐3,1mkmareusedinthe
SVITthermalimagingsystem.

Theemittedlightquanta,includinginvisible(infrared)withthewavelength>1mcmcanberegisteredbythesensorsof
infraredradiations.Thethermalimageofobjectsisformedwithspecialinfraredlensandisrecordedbythe
photosensitiveelementsofthematrix,establishedinthefocalplaneoflens.Theelementsoffocalmatrixconvertlight
quantaintotheelectriccharges,whicharereadbymultiplexer,arestrengthened,theyarepreliminarilyprocessedby
electroniccircuitandthentransferredtothecomputer.Asaresult,thethermal‐visionimageofobjectisreflectedonthe
screenofmonitor.Thesoftwareoftheinstrumentallowsexaminingofthetemperaturedistributionoverthesurfaceof
theskinofpatientandmeasuringofthetemperatureinanypointofimage.

ThefunctionaldiagramoftheinstrumentisshowninFig.2.Themeasurementofthedistributionoftemperatureoverthe
bodysurfaceofpatientisproducedwithoutanycontactofinstrumentwiththeskinofpatient.Instrumentmeasuresthe
naturalradiation,radiatedbypatient,fromdistance.

Thethermalradiationoftheobservedsceneisfocusedbylens(1)tothematrixofhybridmicrocircuit(4),
establishedinthevacuumcryostat(5).Thelevelofbackgroundgatingislimitedbycolddiaphragm(3).All
constantandsurgevoltagesnecessaryfortheworkofphotoreceiverdeviceareassignedbygenerator(6).
Thedeviceofcalibrationconsistsoftwomobileshutters(specularandblack),controlledbyelectromagnets.
Electromagnetsaregovernedbytheblock(9),whichalsotransfersintotheblock(14)thepulses,which
synchronizetheworkofATsP(10),adder(11),USBconnectionunitviaUSBport(15)andblockofthe
transmissionofinformationaboutthestateofautomate(8).Signalfromthematrixphotoreceiverdevicewill
begiventotheentranceofamplifier(7).Theamplifiedusefulsignalistransferredtothepersonalcomputer
afterprocessinginthecontroller(1016).
Onthehousingofinfraredcamerathereare:theringofimagefocusing,USB2.0portfortheconnectiontothe
computer,connectorforsynchronization(7‐pinconnector)andfasteningfortheinstallationofcameratothe
stand.Theindicatorofthereadinessofinstrumentfortheworkisinstalledneartheneckofcryostat.

6. Safetymeasures
TheInfraredcameraSVITcomplieswiththerequirementsoftheEUstandards.Thesafetymeasuresfor
InfraredcameraSVITaresimilartothegeneralsafetymeasuresforanyelectronics.TheInfraredcameraSVIT
isgroundedbycontactingsolderpadsthatareinthetwo‐pinplug.Devicesconnectedtotheinfraredcamera
SVIT(printer)mustcomplywiththerequirementsoftheEUstandards.
Theinfraredcameramustbeconnectedtothepowersupplybytripolarseparatedsockets.
7. Setup
TheinfraredcameraSVITmustbeusedindoorsandallclimaticrequirementsdefinedinOperatingmanual
mustbemet.TheinfraredcameraSVITistransportedinaplasticbox.Thedevicemustbeunpackedindoorsat
roomtemperature.
7.1. Opentheboxandtakeoffthepolyethylenecoverfromthecamera.
7.2. Fastenthermal‐visioncameratothestand.
7.3. ConnectthecameratothecomputerbythestandardUSB2.0cable.
7.4. Fillthecryostatwithliquidnitrogen.
7.5. Startthecomputer.
7.6. StarttheSibThermsoftware.
7.7. Beginthemeasurements(inaccordancewiththeinstructionsfortheinstrument)
7.8. Attheendofmeasurementsdisconnecttheinstrument(afterturningofftheinstrument,closethe
SibThermsoftwareandturnoffthecomputerbystandardmeans.
8. Measurementprocedure
Forconductingofthemeasurementstheinfraredcameraisdirectedtopatient.Thecontactofpatientwith
thecameraisnotrequired.Thedistancebetweenthecameraandthepatientisdeterminedbythesizeof
region,whichisgoingtobevisualizedonthethermogram.
Aftertheappearanceofanimage,bytherotationofthefocusring,whichislocatedunderthedevicelens(in
thefrontsectionoftheinstrument),itisnecessarytofocusimagetobecomesharp.
Controlofinfraredcameraandconductingofmeasurementsiscarriedoutthroughthedialoguewiththe
SibThermsoftware.
9. Maintenance
Maintenanceshallbecarriedoutinordertopreventdamages.ReadSafetyMeasuressectionofPassport
beforecarryingoutmaintenance.
Followingmaintenancetypesarerequired:
Day‐to‐daymaintenanceisperformedbymedicalpersonnelaccordingtosection7;
Annualmaintenanceisperformedbytechnicalpersonnelonceayear.
Annualmaintenanceincludesexaminingofcameraunits,andtechnicalconditionofcamera.
Incaseofmalfunction,thedeviceisrepairedbyrepresentativesofthemanufacturer.

10. Troubleshooting

Thecameracanbetransportedbyanyflighttransportexcludingnon‐heatedairplanesections,climatic
conditionsmustcorrespondtotheEUstandards.
12. Storage
Forshorttermtheinfraredcameramustbestoredindoorsat10‐35°Ctemperature,andrelativehumidity
mustbe80%(percent)attemperatureof25°C.
Forlongtermtheinfraredcameramustbestoredatawarehouseofthemanufacturerorcustomerin
accordancewithstorageconditionsoftheEUstandards.
13. Service&Warranty
ThemanufacturerguaranteesthattheInfraredcameraSVITcorrespondstoindicatedspecificationswhenall
conditionsanduse,maintenance,transportingandstoringrequirementsindicatedinthedevicedocuments
aremet.
Thewarrantyperiodis24months,itbeginsoncetheAcceptanceprotocolissigned.
Thewarrantyserviceiscarriedoutbyarepresentantofthemanufactureratnocosttothecustomer.Ifthe
cameraisdamagedasaresultofwrongusageofthedevice,thewarrantyserviceiscarriedoutbythe
representantofthemanufactureratcustomer´scost.
