5.
Connecting the system
The two speaker boxes are onne ted using the supplied speaker link able. The speaker link able
is an ordinary stereo able with RCA plugs in both ends, so it doesn’t matter whi h end of the
able you onne t to whi h speaker box. To ensure polarity you need to mount the plugs orre tly
however; so that the onne tors marked “B” are onne ted, and the onne tors marked “G” are
onne ted.
Then onne t the sour e needed. Three options are available: analog, digital opti al and digital
oax. If you use analog input, then digital opti al and oax are disabled. If you use digital opti al
and signal is dete ted, digital oax is disabled. See “1 Controls and onne tors” for des ription of
the individual input onne tor.
Mains power may only be onne ted after the speaker link able has been installed. The mains
power onne ted is pla ed on the ba k of the right side speaker. There is no mains swit h. All daily
use is operated through the buttons on the front panel or by using a remote ontrol.

Using the Opalum Furniture Sound System
7.1 On/off
The Opalum Furniture Sound System has automati on/off. This means that whenever a sour e
starts playing the system will swit h on. Likewise the system will go to standby automati ally if no
sour e is playing for more than 5 minutes. Manual on/off is still possible, just press the Standby
button on the front, or use the IR standby ommand if su h has been learned. In this ase the
automati on is disabled. In standby the system onsumes less than 0.5 watt.
7.2 Volume offset adjustment
Even if the volume is normally ontrolled by your sour e, like for instan e your TV or mobile
phone, the Opalum Furniture Sound System offers a volume offset adjustment feature. This
feature allows you to adjust the overall amplifi ation level in the same way as an ordinary AV
re eiver would do. In reasing the volume offset will make your system play louder, but ould also
mean that the lowest volume setting on your sour e still ould be too loud for a quiet living room
late at night. De reasing the volume offset will make your system play lower, but ould also mean
that the highest volume setting on your sour e isn’t enough to get your party ro king. So, either
adjust depending on the need of the moment, or find an adjustment that suites your need the
best. The adjustment is stored automati ally and sin e it’s the amplifi ation that is adjusted, it will
affe t all sour es.
7.2 Bluetooth
To onne t your mobile devi e or PC to the Opalum Furniture Sound System using Bluetooth you
first need to pair the devi es. The Opalum Furniture Sound System will only pair if it is put into
pairing mode. Do this by pressing the “Bluetooth pairing” button on the front. While the status
indi ator flashes blue, the system is in pairing mode. The pairing mode will terminate
automati ally when a devi e pairing is ompleted, or after a timeout of 5 minutes. Please see the
user guide of your devi e for how to pair. The Opalum Furniture Sound System is identified by the
name “Opalum FSS xx:xx”, where xx:xx is a unique number. After pairing is ompleted the
Opalum Furniture Sound System remembers the devi e, and vi e versa – so next time you just
simply onne t, no pairing needed.
7.4 IR learning

ontrols. You de ide whi h buttons to use for whi h fun tion and simply use the IR learning
