WiFi Booster Gen 2
1. How to pair your booster
1Ensure both booster and modem are within 2 meters of each other
and powered up. Check the booster power LED is solid green and the
Mesh LED is flashing red.
2Push and hold the pairing button on the rear of the booster for approx
6 sec , then release. The Mesh LED should flash green.
3On the Optus modem press the paring button for approx 3 seconds
then release. Check the WiFi LED is flashing green.
4Within 3 minutes the Mesh LED will go solid green, this indicates the
booster and modem have successfully paired. On the modem, the
WiFi LED will revert to solid green.
You can now relocate the booster unit in an area within the house
that you want to boost your WiFi signal.


Please refer to the LED indicator sequence table on section 3.
Wait for the light on your booster to turn solid Green. This may take
up to two minutes.
If you have more than one booster, repeat the above steps for each
mesh unit.
Gen 2 Booster is only compatible with Gen 2
modem, which is shown here:

2. Where to place your Optus Ultra WiFi Booster Gen 2
in your home
1After the pair process is completed, unplug the booster power adapter
from the wall.
2Move your booster to an area around your home you want to improve
WiFi coverage.
Booster Optus Ultra WiFi Modem Gen 2
Note
Your booster will need to be placed within the coverage area of your
modem. Placing the booster away from large metal objects, and up
high (eg. on a book shelf) can help improve performance.

Note
Positioning your booster properly is key to ensuring optimal WiFi coverage.
Note
To factory reset your device, locate the pin hole reset button and press
for 3 seconds.
3. How to make sure your Optus Ultra WiFi Booster
Gen 2 receives a good signal
1Plug your booster into a power outlet - if you don’t see a light, check
that the power button is ON.
2Wait for the light on your booster to turn on. This may take up to
10 seconds.
3Check the light on your booster to make sure the mesh is in a
suitable location:
Solid green
It’s receiving a reliable WiFi signal. You’re all set.
Solid red
It’s not receiving a reliable WiFi signal. You’ll need to move it closer
to your modem or another booster.
Flashing red
It’s not receiving WiFi signal. You’ll need to move it closer to your
modem or another booster.
Both power and mesh light in flashing green
The booster is performing a firmware update.

Troubleshooting

The LED lights on the front of your booster indicate the status and
strength of its connection to your modem.

Off Device is powered off
Solid red Device is booting up
Solid green Bootup complete and device is ready
Flashing red Performing factory reset
Flashing green Device has exceeded the operational
temperature, relocate device to cooler area
Mesh
Off
Booster is not ready, this could be due to
unit performing factory reset, or unit is still
powering up
Flashing red No mesh connectivity
Solid Red Not receiving a reliable WiFi signal. Move
booster closer to modem.
Solid green
Booster is paired with modem and
link quality is good, optimum backhaul
connectivity - always make sure LED
is solid green
Flashing green User has triggered WPS pairing and
connection time is approx 3 mins
Both
Flashing green Performing a firmware upgrade
