1. Insert one AAA battery into t e

• If you are using Windows XP, Windows Me, or Windows 2000
1. Connect t e player into your computer's USB port via USB cable.
2. Copy .MP3 or .WMA files to t e removable disk.
3. Remove t e player from your computer by clicking "t e green arrow on
t e system tray"
4. Press and old t e ▶button to turn on t e player.
5. Press t e ▶button to play music.
Note : W en Hold switc is on, t e buttons on t e player will not function.

for more t an 1 second.
T en, t e voice of FM radio is recorded.
• To set a repeat section end point
: W ile t e file continues playing, briefly press t e REC button a second
time to mark t e end point of a music track or voice file repeat section.
T e end point icon appears and t e music track or voice file
repeats from t e starting point (A) to t e ending point (B).
• To cancel a repeat section
: W ile a repeat section is playing, press t e REC button.
T e repeat section is cancelled and t e recording plays in normal
mode.
Note : For more information, see "Setting t e repeat mode" on page 19.
FM radio recording
Navigating music tracks or voice files
• To c ange to anot er music track or voice file.
: Press ▶button w ile music track or voice file is playing. T en, t e play
will be stopped and directory name and file name appear.
: Select a file name by pus ing t e navi stick toward /and press ▶
button to play t e selected file.
• Voice recorded file will be created in "VOICE" folder and Line-in/FM Record
file will be created in "RECORD" folder.
Setting the section repeat play function
• To set a repeat section start point
: W ile a file is playing, briefly press t e REC button to mark t e start
point of a music track or voice file repeat section.
T e start point icon appears.
Recording voice
• To record voice by using REC
1. Press REC button for more t an one second to start voice record.
2. T e below display will appear and recording is started.

3. To stop recording, press ▶button.
4. Voice recording is stopped and VCM file is created.
5. Recording is available in any mode.
• Recorded voice file can playback in voice mode.
Line- n encoding
1. Press Mode button and select Line-in by pus ing navi stick.
2. Press ▶button briefly, t en "Ready Line-in" appears.
3. Press ▶button to start recording.
4. To stop encoding, press ▶button.
• To see and playback Line-In Encoding file, c oose voice mode and open
"Record" folder.

: Repeat one - listen to one music track or voice file repeatedly.
: Repeat all - listen to all music tracks or voice files repeatedly.
: S uffle - listen to randomly selected music tracks or voice files.
: Intro - listen to t e first ten seconds of eac music track or voice file.
: Directory one - plays all music tracks once in selected folder.
: Directory s uffle - plays all music tracks or voice files randomly in t e
selected folder.
: Directory intro - plays t e first ten seconds of eac music track or voice
file in t e selected folder.
3. Press ▶button to select wanted file.
• To use t e EQ menu
1. Use t e Menu mode to select t e EQ menu.
2. Pus t e navi stick toward or to scroll t roug t e EQ menu options.
: Normal - set t e equalizer settings to 0 dB.

: T e User option includes equalizer settings. If you select t e User menu

(5 bands). Press t e " button to complete t e equalizer settings.
• To use t e File menu
1. Use t e Menu mode to select t e File menu.

: Delete - delete music tracks or voice files.
: Format - format t e memory space. All files are deleted in t is process.
3. Press t e ▶button to select t e ig lig ted File menu option.
: T e Delete option includes music and voice file options.
Press t e ▶button to select t e music or voice option. Pus t e navi
stick toward or to scroll t roug t e files and ig lig t t e file
you want to delete. Press t e ▶button to delete t e file.
: T e Format option deletes all files on t e player. Pus t e navi stick
toward or to ig lig t OK or Cancel to format. Press t e ▶
button to select t e format option.
Caution! T e Format option deletes all files on t e player. Make sure t at
you ave saved all important files before using t e Format option.

: Default - set t e logo to t e default logo.
: User - set t e logo to t e user designed logo created in t e logo editor
program.
: Logo Disp - turn t e logo display on or off.

: T e User menu includes custom logo options.

files (.lgo) and ig lig t t e file you want to display. Press t e ▶button
to select t e file.

W en you connect your player to your computer's USB port, t e player
appears as a removable drive on your computer. If your computer uses
Windows XP, Windows ME, or Windows 2000, you do not ave to install
t e driver software to use t e player wit your computer.
If your computer uses Windows 98SE, install t e USB device driver
for Windows 98SE.
• To install t e Windows 98SE USB device driver
1. Connect t e USB extension cable to t e computer's USB port and
connect t e player to t e extension cable.
T e Add New Hardware Wizard screen opens.

Connecting to your computer
• To connect t e digital music player to a computer wit Windows XP
1. Turn on your computer.
2. Plug t e USB extension cable into t e computer's USB port, t en
connect t e player to t e extension cable. T e Removable disk dialog
box opens and t e Standby message flas es on t e player's LCD.
3. Click Open folder to view files. t en click OK. T e Music, Voice, and Logo
folders appear in Windows Explorer.
Managing files
Caution! Do not remove t e player w ile files are transferring to and from t e
digital audio player. Removing t e drive w ile files are transferring will cause
transfer failure.
T e player displays an animated arrow w en files are transferring and it
displays flas ing "Standby" text w en t e file transfer is complete.
• To load music files on t e digital music player
1. Connect t e player to your computer. For more information, see
"Connecting to your computer" on page 31.
2. Copy t e music file(.MP3 or . WMA) from your computer to t e Music
folder on t e player.
Note : Music files must be copied to t e Music folder for t e music files
to play back on t e player. If music files are placed in ot er folders
or in sub-folders inside t e Music folder, t e music files will not play.

Using the Logo Editor program
• To use voice files recorded on t e digital music player
1. Connect t e player to your computer. For more information, see
Connecting to your computer on page 31.
2. Copy t e voice files from t e Voice folder on t e player to a folder on your
computer.
3. Use t e VoiceConverter program to convert voice (.VOC) files to .WAV
format t at your computer can play. For more information, see Using t e
VoiceConverter program on page 37.
• To load custom logo files on t e digital music player
1. Use t e Logo Editor program to create a custom logo.
For more information, see Using t e Logo Editor program on page 34.
2. Connect t e player to your computer. For more information, see
Connecting to your computer on page 31.
3. Copy your logo files from your computer to t e Logo folder on t e player.
Note : Logo files must be copied to t e Logo folder for t e logo files to be
displayed. If logo files are placed in ot er folders or in sub-folders
inside t e Logo folder, t e logo files will not be displayed.
• To use t e digital music player as a data drive
1. Connect t e player to your computer. For more information, see
Connecting to your computer on page 31.
2. Create a data folder on t e player.
3. Copy files from your computer to t e data folder on t e digital music player.
4. Transfer files from t e player to a folder on anot er computer.
• To install t e Logo Editor
1. Insert t e player's programs / driver CD into t e computer's CD drive.
T e soft-ware install program opens.
2. Click Logo Editor install, t en follow t e program installation instructions.
• To use t e Logo Editor image converter
1. Click Start, All Programs, Digital Audio Player, t en click Logo Editor.
T e Logo Editor program opens.
2. Click Tool, t en click Convert image.
T e image Converter dialog box opens.
3. Click Open. T e Load image File dialog box opens.
4. Browse to t e folder on your computer t at contains t e image file,
t en click t e file.
5. Click Open. T e image opens in t e image Converter dialog box.
6. Adjust t e image size wit t e orizontal and vertical zoom settings and
adjust t e brig tness and contrast. Position t e image inside t e
rectangular box to define ow you want to crop t e image for display
on t e player.

7. Click Transfer. T e new file appears in t e Logo Editor dialog box.
8. Click File, t en click Save. T e Save Logo File dialog box opens.
9. Browse to t e folder you want to save t e logo file in and type t e
file name box. Click t e arrow button to open t e Save as type list,
click Logo file(*.lgo), t en click Save.
For information about transferring t e logo file to t e player, see To load
custom logo files on t e digital music player on page 10.
• To use t e Logo Editor frame function
You can use t e Logo Editor program to creat an animated logo wit t e
frame function.
1. Click Start, All Programs, Digital Audio Player, t en Logo Editor program
opens.
2. Use t e drawing tools to draw t e first frame of t e animated logo picture
in t e Zoomed image area.
3. In t e image Frame area, click Add. A new blank frame opens.
4. Draw t e second frame of t e logo picture.
5. In t e image Frame area, click Add. A new blank frame opens.
6. Draw t e t ird frame of t e logo picture, t en click Add.
7. Continue adding new frame.

8. Click File, t en click save. T e Save Logo File dialog box opens.
9. Browse to t e folder you want to save t e logo file in any type t e file
name in t e File name box. Click t e arrow to open t e Save as type list,
click Logo file(*.log), t en click Save.

custom logo files on t e digital music player on page 33.

Using the Voice Converter program
1. Insert t e player's programs / driver CD into t e computer's CD drive.
T e player software install program opens.
2. Click Voice File Converter, t en follow t e program installation instructions.
• To use t e VoiceConverter program
1. Copy voice files from t e digital audio player's Voice folder to a folder
on your computer.
2. Click Start, All programs, Digital Audio Player, t en click Voice File
Converter.
T e Voice File Converter program opens.
3. Click File, t en click open. T e Open dialog box opens.
4. Click a . VOC file, t en click Open. T e VoiceConverter dialog box opens
and t e .VOC file appears.
5. Click Convert. T e file is converted to a .WAV file t at will be played on
computer media player programs suc as Windows Media Player.
6. Click OK.
