The intended use of the device
The device is intended exclusively for the reception of radio
broadcasts and playback of audio formats from digital optical data
carriers or other external audio sources in vehicles, to the extent
determined by technical and operational parameters and functions,
safety and user instructions and external influences of the operating
environment.
ORAVA Electrical Appliances are manufactured in accordance
with the state of the art and recognized safety-technical rules.
Nevertheless, the use or use contrary to designation may result in
the risk of injury to or endangering the life of the user or third person,
damage to the device and other material values.
1. GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND

This document contains important safety instructions and notices
for the safe, correct and economical operation of the electrical /
electronic equipment. Its compliance helps the user avoid risks,
increase reliability and product life.
1.1. General safety instructions
• Before commissioning, we recommend that you carefully read the
operating instructions and operate the equipment in accordance with
the instructions!
• The safety instructions and warnings in this manual do not cover all
the possible conditions and situations that may arise when using
the device. The user must understand that a factor that cannot be
incorporated into any of the products is personal responsibility and
caution. These factors must therefore be ensured by users serving
this device.
• Failure to follow the safety instructions and warnings is forbidden by
the manufacturer for any damage to health or property!
• Remove all packaging material and labels from the device before
using it for the first time. Securely keep the packaging material out of
the reach of children and unaccompanied minors.
• Make sure that the appliance is complete and shows no signs of
damage before using the appliance for the first time. If the product is
defective or if it has any visible damage, do not use the product.
• Keep the operating instructions as close to the device as possible
throughout its service life. Always keep the operating instructions
together with the device for future use and use by new users.

1.3 Electrical safety
• This appliance is intended for installation in vehicles with a 12 V DC
battery and a grounded negative pole.
• Before installing, make sure the vehicle is using a 12 V DC battery.
• Be sure to install the equipment on buses, trucks or caravans that use
a 24 V DC supply voltage.
• By connecting the device to this voltage, there is a risk of irreparable
damage.
• The device operates with a safe voltage, so there is no electric shock
when used and operated under reasonably foreseeable conditions.
• When installing and connecting, make sure that the wiring is in
accordance with the manufacturer‘s instructions in the operating
instructions.
• Improper connection may cause a malfunction or damage to the
vehicle‘s electrical system.
• Take extra care to avoid damage to the insulation of the installation
wires. Secure electrical cables and individual wires with insulating
tape, especially at the crossing points of wires and cables, through
seams in the metal body panels of the vehicle or near the moving
parts.
• Damage to the insulation may result in an electric short circuit
resulting in a fire.

4. Safety of persons
• This appliance is intended for use by persons without a professional
qualification (layperson) according to the instructions specified by the
manufacturer.
• Device operator includes activities such as switching on and off, user
manipulation and setting of operating parameters, visual or auditory
inspection of the equipment, and user cleaning and maintenance.
• This device may be used by children under 3 years of age and
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience or knowledge when supervised or instructed to use the
device safely and understand the dangers involved.
• Children may not play with the device.
• Cleaning and maintenance of users may not be performed by children
without supervision.

1.5. Cleaning, maintenance and repairs
• Perform the normal user cleaning and maintenance of the appliance
only as recommended. Do not use solvents or harsh detergents and

Transport/Carriage
• When using, for example, of the transport carriage be careful when

Unpacking/Packaging

• Do not use non-original and incomplete parts of the device and its
accessories.
• Use only recommended parts and accessories to install the device.

Location/Installation Warning!
• Have the installer installed by a qualified technician.
• Incorrect and improper installation may have an undesirable effect
on the correct and safe operation of certain safety devices in the
vehicle‘s technical equipment (e.g. direction indicators, brake lights,
horns, ...).
• Always connect the signal wires and power wires to the appliance
only according to the wiring diagram provided.
• The device is intended for installation and installation in the car, in
the part of the dashboard designed exclusively for the location and
connection of the car radio.
• The device is intended for use on vehicles with a supply voltage of
12V DC and grounded negative power pole.
• If there is no place for the installation of the device by the vehicle
manufacturer, select a location for the installation where the operator
controls will not interfere with the vehicle‘s control and where
the device will not endanger the driver or passengers in extreme
situations.
• When installing the device, disconnect the minus pole of the car
battery to reduce the probability of potential damage to the device by
possible electrical short circuit.
• When installing, first connect signal cables and speaker wires, and
then connect the power connector of the device.
• If the ignition of the vehicle is not equipped with ACC or the ignition
cable is connected to a permanent power supply, cable from the
battery, it is not possible to power the device with the ignition (i.e.
the device cannot be switched on and off simultaneously with the
ignition).
• If you want to keep the ignition switching on and off depending,
connect the ignition cable to the source for the device that switches
on and off simultaneously with the ignition.
• Ensure that there is enough air circulation around the device.

• With respect to the correct and reliable operation of the device
(especially when playing CDs), do not exceed the maximum angle of
inclination of the device relative to the horizontal plane by 30 degrees.
• Do not place any objects in the appliance and do not allow foreign
objects to enter the connectors, ventilation openings, and foreign
body covers.
• Do not cover the openings of the covers designed for air flow. Air
ventilation ensures reliable and safe operation of the device.
• Do not expose the device and its accessories to strong vibrations

objects.

Operation/Surveillance
Caution!
• Use the car radio only when and in such a way
that the circumstances of the traffic situation
really allow it!
• As a driver of a motor vehicle, you are fully
responsible for the safety, the safety of your
passengers and the impact of your vehicle on
transport safety!
• Use caution to ensure safety while driving, and
observe at least the following precautions:
• Pay particular attention to driving your car in all
circumstances!
• To achieve the highest possible level of safety
when driving a car, it is necessary for the car
radio user to get the most out of the functions
and service before driving.

• Always stop the vehicle if necessary to deal with
an unforeseen or serious situation while driving
(in connection with solving the problem or setting
up the device)!
• Use the car radio functions only to the extent that
you are constantly in control of your vehicle in all
traffic situations!
• To set the volume level, always hear the acoustic
prompts and signals at any traffic situation
coming from the outside environment of the
vehicle, in particular the police emergency
vehicle, the emergency medical service or the
fire brigade.
• Do not leave the external audio source on the
dashboard at all. The device could fly into the
driver‘s or passenger compartment for a sudden
ride and cause serious injury!
• Never leave outside audio sources near airbags.
The device could be fired into the passenger
compartment when the airbag is deployed and
could cause serious injury!
• It is forbidden to hold external audio sources
while on the move or to have on the knees. The
device could fly into the driver‘s or passenger
compartment for a sudden ride and cause
serious injury!
• Always route the cable to connect an external
audio source so that the driver and passengers
do not limit the driving experience.

• For the safe and reliable operation of the
electronic equipment at low temperatures
and excessive humidity (e.g. in winter), first
allow the device to „acclimatize“ (to ensure
the temperature and humidity of the vehicle
cabin) to remove any moisture in the electrical /
electronic parts, which occurs when the ambient
temperature changes.
Caution!
• The device may be (depending on the type)
equipped with a laser beam unit - Class 1 laser
device.
• The device is safe for users under reasonably
foreseeable operating conditions.
• Follow the following safety precautions to avoid
laser radiation:
- Never open the device or remove its covers.
- Only have the appliance serviced by a qualified
specialist in an authorized service facility.
- Do not make any changes on the device.
• Laser radiation is dangerous to sight!
• There are no parts or components inside the
device that you can repair yourself. Repairs to
the unit may only be performed by authorized
service personnel.
• Never overload the machine beyond the limits
set by the technical specifications!
• If you notice any unusual occurrences (sounds,
smell, smoke, ...) while using the device, switch
off the device immediately and disconnect it from
the power supply. Have the appliance checked
by a specialist workshop.
• Never underestimate the potential hazards and
pay extra caution!!!

Assembly
• Temporarily connect all cables before making a definitive installation and check that the
device is working normally. Then, before fitting, select the front panel.
• Only install the device with the supplied parts.
• Contact your car dealer for further details on the need for vehicle modifications.
• Select the mounting location so that the device does not interfere with driving the vehicle or
the driver.
• The maximum mounting angle should not exceed 60 degrees.
• Do not mount the device in locations subject to high temperatures such as direct sunlight or
hot air, dust, dirt or excessive vibration.
Front/rear assembly DIN
The device can be mounted by inserting into the bracket (DIN front assembly) or by screwing
through holes on the sides of the device (rear DIN assembly). For installation details, refer to
Fig. A, B and C.

Disassembly the device
1. Load the frame.
2. Insert the supplied hooks into the holes.
3. Select the device by pulling the device with
the inserted hooks with both hands.

Involvement
a. This device is intended for operation with a DC voltage of 12 V with a grounded negative
pole.
b. Be careful not to pinch any cables under the screw, or between any moving parts (for
example, seat rails).
c. Before switching on, switch off the ignition to avoid short circuits.
d. First, connect the connecting cables and speakers to your device before plugging it in to the
power connector.
e. Connect all earthing cables to a common grounding point.
f. If the vehicle is not equipped with an ISO connector, purchase it.
Notes
- Damage due to incorrect connection is not covered by the warranty.
- The device may not be equipped with a standard ISO connector. In this case, connect the
device according to the connection section without the ISO connector.
Caution!
Do not shorten the connector. The device has a separate amplification output. If you have only two speakers,
do not connect the outputs, but select the output for the front or rear speakers. Connect the red cable to the
ignition (the key in the ACC position) to prevent the battery from draining when you are not using the car.
Connection diagram of ISO connector
Negative polarity positions 2, 4, 6 and 8 on the connector are for negative polarity. Positions 1,
2, 3 and 6 on the A connector are not connected.

Connecting control cables and external devices
Connecting the control cables
Cable for connection to the electric pull-out antenna
If you have an electric pull-out antenna in your car, you can connect a blue cable (A5) to it.
When you turn on the car radio (ignition), the electric pull-out antenna is automatically ejected,
and after the car radio (ignition) is switched off, it moves again.
Audio Output (RCA Connectors (White - L, Red - R)
You can connect the end amplifier to the RCA jacks.
There are 4 RCA connectors for the front left and right and rear left and right channels.
Audio input (AUX IN mini jack)
You can connect an audio output connector from an external device (mobile phone, portable
audio player, etc.) to the AUX IN mini jack on the front panel of your device.

In the music playback mode, by pressing briefly, you switch 10 songs forward.
Long press to switch between pause and playback (u button function).
6. BAND / APS button (Automatic station tuning)
In radio mode, briefly press the FM1 - FM2 - FM3 band.
Long press to start APS to automatically tune and store all available stations.
In music playback mode, briefly press to select a numeric selection, then select the desired
numbers from 0 to 9 with the rotated VOL (SEL) knob.
By briefly pressing the VOL (SEL) knob, you confirm the entered number and change the
position to enter the next number (multi-digit), then briefly press the BAND button to confirm
the selection and start playing the selected track.

7. CH-button in radio mode briefly press the preset stored preset, long press to save the
currently listened station, then briefly press the reverse preset number to save the station,
then press the VOL (SEL) button to confirm the save.
In the music playback mode, briefly press 10 songs backwards.

Preparing for Playback
This information is described when using controls on the device!
Turn on / off the device
Power on
Press the On / Off / MOD (1) button on the front panel. The device switches to the mode that
was active when the device was turned off.
Power off
Turn off the device by pressing and holding the On / Off / MOD (1) button on the front panel.
The display will show the time.
Adjust the volume and sound
To adjust the volume, turn the rotary knob on the front panel (4).
To access sound mode (even in music playback mode) by repeatedly pressing the SEL button
(4), select the desired function.
The mode switches in the following order:
Bass (BASS) - Treble (TREB) - Balance Left / Right (BAL) - Front / Back Balance (FAD),
Solid Equalizer (DSP), Dynamic Highlighting (LOU).
Pressing the remote control will activate the clock mode.
Select input source
When the device is on, press On / Off / MOD (1) on the front panel. Available sources are:
RADIO, MP3, (memory media only if a USB memory device is connected to a USB connector
or an SD / MMC card inserted into the SD / MMC card slot), AUX IN (if the AUX IN mini input
jack (AUX) (11) on the front panel connected external audio equipment).
Warning
If a signal source is not ready, its selection will not be possible (eg if no external USB audio is
connected, no USB source can be selected).
View time
VOL nob (SEL) (4)
The time display function works after setting the clock manually or after the clock has been
automatically set.
Set the time manually
Turn the rotary knob (4) in the operating state until the time is displayed on the display.
Pressing the controller again (4) will activate the time setting mode. The clock display will flash.
Turn the dial to set the correct hour. Another brief press of the controller (4) starts flashing the
minute indication. Turn the dial to set the correct minutes.
Another brief press of the controller (4) starts to flash the day of the week (in English). Turn the
dial to set the correct day.
When the time setting is complete, the blinking item stops blinking in 5 seconds and the setting
is finished.
To view the clock, press and hold the rotary knob (4) in each radio mode.

Adjust sound
Volume control knob VOL (SEL) (4)
Turn the dial (4) to adjust the volume level. Rotate to the right to increase the volume, turn to
the left to decrease the volume.
Function / Confirmation button (4)
Press the dial (4) to select the sound functions. After selecting the appropriate function, set
it to the level with this volume control within 5 seconds. Otherwise, the volume setting is
restored. Functions are switched as follows: Volume (VOL) - Bass (BASS) - Treble (TREB) -
Balance Left / Right (BAL) - Front Fader (FAD)
Bass (BASS):
Press the Volume / Volume / Function Button (4) to select the Bass Adjustment (BASS)
function, then turn it to set the desired level.
“0” corresponds to a neutral level.
Height (TREB):
Press the Volume Function Button (4) to select the Height Adjustment (TREB) function, then
turn it to set the desired level.
“0” corresponds to a neutral level.
Left / Right Balance (BAL):
Press the volume control / volume / function buttons (4) to select the balance adjustment
between the left and right speakers (BAL) and then turn the desired balance level from the far
right to the far left.
The center corresponds to the balance between right and left speakers.
Front / Rear Balance (FAD):
Press the volume control / volume / function buttons (4) to select the balance between the front
and rear speakers (FAD) and then rotate the desired balance level from the far back to the full
front.
The center corresponds to the balance between the front and rear speakers.
Sound Enhancement (LOUD)
Rotary Controller (4)
Repeatedly pressing the dial (4) will activate the LOUD sound enhancement mode. High and
low audio frequencies will be highlighted so the sound will be dynamic.
To turn off the highlight, press this button again.
Setting Equalizer Preference (DSP)
Rotary Controller (4)
Repeatedly pressing the dial (4) activates the equalizer setting (DSP) mode. Turn the dial to
select one of the equalizer preferences, depending on the sound you are comfortable with. The
mode switches in the following order: OFF, POP, ROCK, CLASSIC, JAZZ.
Button and display illumination setting (LED)
Rotary Controller (4)
Repeatedly press the dial (4) to activate the color backlight and display mode. Turn the dial to
select one of three colors BLU (blue), RED (red), GRE (green). When you select AUTO, the
colors will change after about 30 seconds.

Tuner control
Select the TUNER input source
Press the on / off / MOD (1) button on the front panel until the radio input source is selected.
Select the radio band
Use the BAND button on the front panel to switch between the FM1, FM2, and FM3 radio
bands.
Tuning stations
Automatically tune and store all available stations
After you press and hold the BAND (APS) button (6) on the front panel for more than 1 second
in radio mode, automatic tuning and storing stations are started. All available stations will be
stored in the device memory.
After storing all stations, the tuning stops and the first stored station is selected. To stop tuning,
press BAND (APS) again to stop tuning. Newly tuned stations will overwrite previously stored
stations!
Automatic tuning
Briefly press the forward (3) / reverse (2) button on the front panel to start
automatic tuning in the appropriate direction.
Manual Tuning
Pressing and holding the forward / rewind button on the front panel (for more than 1 second)
turns the manual tuning mode on. Then, briefly press the forward / rewind button on the front
panel or DO to manually tune. If the buttons are not touched for about 1 second, the auto
tuning mode resumes.
Notes:
Newly tuned stations will overwrite previously stored stations!
Recall Stored Stations / Store Stations
CH + and CH- buttons, VOL (SEL) button
CH + button
In radio mode, short press to switch stored presets forward, long push to save the currently
listening station, then briefly pressing forward select a preset number under which you want to
store the station, after the selection by briefly pressing the VOL (SEL) to confirm the deposit.
CH - button
In radio mode, short press to switch saved presets back, long push to save the currently
listening station, then briefly pressing select a preset number reverse below which you want to
store the station, after the selection by briefly pressing the VOL (SEL) to confirm the deposit.

RDS system
Selecting and setting RDS features: On / Off. TA, AF, STEREO / MONO, On / Off, CT (exact
time), etc. perform the VOL (SEL) knob in radio mode.
TA (Traffic Reporting)
Press the VOL (SEL) knob in radio mode, then rotate it to select RDS SEL.
Then briefly press the button to select TA. Activating Traffic Announcement (TA) will
automatically tune to the FM station that is currently broadcasting traffic news. These settings
work regardless of the current sound source.
When messages are finished, the device switches back to the original audio source.
To turn off the TA function, turn the control knob to set the TA OFF setting.
AF (Alternative Frequencies)
Press the VOL (SEL) knob in radio mode, then rotate it to select RDS SEL.
Then, briefly press the joystick to select the AF function. The Alternate Frequency (AF)
function automatically selects and tunes the frequency of the currently listening station with the
strongest signal in the station network.
When the AF function is activated: the device is factory set to “AF ON” so that the regional
station is tuned to another regional station with a stronger signal.
If you leave the region with broadcast range coverage and you want to maximize the AF
function, turn off regional mode.
To turn off AF, set the AF OFF setting by turning the dial.
Notes
• When AF mode is turned on and you start tuning in, tuning stops only on RDS stations.
• Regardless of setting the AF mode, the tuner automatically switches to the FM band
automatically when switching from another sound source back to the tuner.
TA SK / TA ALM (TA Search / TA alert)
Press the VOL (SEL) knob in radio mode, then rotate it to select RDS SEL.
Then, briefly press the dial to select TA for TA (Traffic Reporting) or TA ALM (Traffic
Intelligence).
STEREO / MONO
Press the VOL (SEL) knob in radio mode, then rotate it to select RDS SEL.
Then, briefly press the dial to select the Stereo or Mono setting to receive the broadcast. If the
reception of the station is poor, select the setting for MONO.
RETUNE L / RETUNE S (Long / Short RDS Tuning)
Press the VOL (SEL) knob in radio mode, then rotate it to select RDS SEL.
Then, briefly press the dial to select the new frequency tuning length setting after the RDS
signal is lost. For long tuning, select RETUNE L, select RETUNE S for short tuning.
MSK DP / MSK ALL (Local / Total PI debugging)
Press the VOL (SEL) knob in radio mode, then rotate it to select RDS SEL.
Then, briefly press the dial to select the setting for the MSK tuning of the alternate frequencies.

CT ON / CT OFF (CT On / Off function)
Press the VOL (SEL) knob in radio mode, then rotate it to select RDS SEL.
Then, briefly press the dial to select the CT setting (Clock Time).
To synchronize the time according to the signal transmitted by the RDS station, select CT ON.
If you do not want to synchronize the time according to the RDS station, select the CT OFF
setting.
PTY
Press the VOL (SEL) knob in radio mode, then rotate it to select PTY SEL and press briefly to
confirm.
Then, by turning the dial, select the desired PTY type and press the selection briefly to
confirm.
To start the tuning of the desired program type, press the joystick. The device starts searching
for the type of the selected program. If no station sends the selected program type and the
device switches to the previous mode.

Description of RDS
Radio Data System (RDS) is a radio service that allows you to broadcast additional digital
information along with the radio station signal in the FM radio band. For example, when
receiving an RDS station, one of the following information will be displayed.
- PI (Program Identification)
This is the code transmission for the type of program.
- PS (Program name)
Information containing the name of the program.
- AF (Alternative frequencies)
The Alternate Frequency (AF) function automatically selects and tunes the frequency of the
currently listening station with the strongest signal in the station network.
- TA (Traffic Reporting)
If the station is currently broadcasting traffic reports, the TA indicator lights up.
- PTY (Search by program type)
You can also tune in the station by selecting the type of program you want to listen to. If the
station is transmitting PTY data, the display shows the current program type.
- CT (Current time)
The CT (Clock Time) function with RDS automatically sets the clock.
Note
Depending on the country, all RDS features may not work.
