General Power Tool Safety Warnings
WARNING: Read all safety
warnings, instructions, illustrations and
specifications provided with this power
tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed
below may result in electric shock, fire and/
or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for
future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers
to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
battery operated (cordless) power tool.
WORK AREA SAFETY
• Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power
tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while
operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
• Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way. Do
not use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs
and matching outlets will reduce the risk of
electric shock.

Because a blower is a high-speed battery-powered tool, some special safety precautions
must be observed to reduce the risk of personal injury. Careless or improper use can cause
serious or even fatal injury.
Only allow persons who fully understand this manual to operate your Oregon blower. To
receive maximum performance and satisfaction from your Oregon blower, it is important
that you read, understand, and follow the safety precautions and the operating and
maintenance instructions in the chapters "Important Safety Information" and "Operation"
before using your blower. Contact your Oregon dealer or the Oregon distributor for your
area if you do not understand any of the instructions in this manual.
The text used in the General Power Tool Safety Warnings section of this manual is verbatim,
as required by international safety standards. This information applies to many different types of
power tools.

Important Safety Information
• Avoid body contact with earthed or
grounded surfaces, such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your
body is earthed or grounded.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock. **
• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the
cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging
the power tool. Keep cord away from
heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the
risk of electric shock.
• When operating a power tool outdoors,
use an extension cord suitable for outdoor
use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use
reduces the risk of electric shock.
• If operating a power tool in a damp
location is unavoidable, use a ground
fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) or residual
current device (RCD) protected supply.
Use of a GFCI or RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock. *

PERSONAL SAFETY
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing
and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool while
you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating power tools may
result in serious personal injury.
• Use personal protective equipment.
Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection
used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
• Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure
the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to power source and/or
battery pack, picking up or carrying the
tool. Carrying power tools with your finger
on the switch or energizing power tools that
have the switch on invites accidents.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench
before turning the power tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotating
part of the power tool may result in personal
injury.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times. This enables
better control of the power tool in unexpected
situations.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair,
clothing and gloves away from moving
parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can
be caught in moving parts.
• If devices are provided for the connection
of dust extraction and collection facilities,
ensure these are connected and properly
used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-
related hazards.
• Do not let familiarity gained from
frequent use of tools allow you to become
complacent and ignore tool safety
principles. A careless action can cause
severe injury within a fraction of a second.
POWER TOOL USE AND CARE
• Do not force the power tool. Use the
correct power tool for your application.
The correct power tool will do the job better
and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not use the power tool if the trigger
does not turn it on and off. Any power tool
that cannot be controlled with the trigger is
dangerous and must be repaired.
• Disconnect the plug from the power
source and/or remove the battery pack,
if detachable, from the power tool before
making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing power tools Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the power tool accidentally.

• Store idle power tools out of the reach
of children and do not allow persons
unfamiliar with the power tool or these
instructions to operate the power tool.
Power tools are dangerous in the hands of
untrained users.
• Maintain power tools and accessories.
Check for misalignment or binding of
moving parts, breakage of parts, and
any other condition that may affect the
power tool’s operation. If damaged, have
the power tool repaired before use. Many
accidents are caused by poorly maintained
power tools.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.
• Use the power tool, accessories and
tool bits etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended
could result in a hazardous situation.
• Keep handles and grasping surfaces
dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do
not allow for safe handling and control of the
tool in unexpected situations.
BATTERY TOOL USE AND CARE
• Recharge only with the charger specified
by the manufacturer. A charger that is
suitable for one type of battery pack may
create a risk of fire when used with another
battery pack.
• Use power tools only with specifically
designated battery packs. Use of any other
battery packs may create a risk of injury and
fire.
• When battery pack is not in use, keep it
away from other metal objects, like paper
clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other
small metal objects that can make a
connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may
cause burns or a fire.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be
ejected from the battery; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, flush
with water. If liquid contacts eyes, seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery
may cause irritation or burns.
• Do not use a pack or tool that is damaged
or modified. Damaged or modified batteries
may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting
in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
• Do not expose a battery pack or tool to
fire or excessive temperature. Exposure
to fire or temperature above  °C

• Follow all charging instructions and
do not charge the battery pack or tool
outside the temperature range specified
in the instructions. Charging improperly or
at temperatures outside the specified range
may damage the battery and increase the risk
of fire.
SERVICE
• Have your power tool serviced by a
qualified repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the power tool is
maintained.
• Never service damaged battery packs.
Service of battery packs should only
be performed by the manufacturer or
authorized service providers.
BLOWER SAFETY WARNINGS
• Oregon Professional Series V tools
have been specifically designed for safe
operation during exposure to rain or in
wet conditions, but should be stored in a
dry location.
• Read and follow the instructions in this
manual and the battery manual before
assembling, operating or servicing this
product.
• Never point the nozzle at yourself or
another person. Do not use to clean off
people or animals.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
• Do not allow the product to be used by
children, persons with reduced mental or
physical capability or people unfamiliar
with these instructions. Consult local

What’s in the box?
The blower requires assembly before use.
These items ship with the blower:

Remove the blower components from the
box and inspect them carefully to ensure no
damage has occurred during shipping and
that no parts are missing. If any parts are
damaged or missing, do not use the blower.
Contact Oregon®Customer Service to obtain
replacement parts at --.
Assembly
Place all the assemblies of the tool on a well-lit
workbench.
. Orient the nozzle so that the two lugs () on
the blower tube align to the two slots () on
the nozzle ().

Use your blower only for clearing yards,
gardens, grounds, and facility areas of loose
debris, such as leaves, grass, paper, and dust.
Do not use it for other purposes, as misuse
may result in personal injury or property
damage, including damage to the machine.

from any broken, missing or cracked parts.
• Check the blower for misalignment or
bending of moving parts, breakage of parts
and any other condition that may affect the
power tool’s operation.
• Check that the tube is properly installed.
• Make sure the battery cable, plug and power
socket are not frayed or damaged.
To repair or replace any damage or worn
part, contact Oregon or an authorized Oregon
servicing dealer.
Batteries and Battery Charging
• Batteries must be used, stored and charged
within battery use, storage, charging
temperature ranges outlined in the
Specifications section of this manual.
• Oregon V Professional Series tools are
intended for use only with Oregon V
Professional Batteries. Read and follow all
instructions provided in the Oregon V
Professional Battery Operators Manual.
• Oregon V Professional Batteries must be
charged only by Oregon V Professional
Charger. Read and follow all instructions
provided in the Oregon V Professional
Charger Operators Manual.
Starting the Blower
• Fully insert the plug into the power socket.
When fully inserted, the LED lights on the
dashboard will activate and be accompanied
by an audible beep.
• Pull the variable speed trigger to activate
the fan. Continue to press the variable speed
trigger for extended operation.
Stealth Mode™
The Oregon BLHVX-NA has a Stealth
Mode which reduces fan speed by . The
BLHVX-NA in Stealth Mode can reduce
noise up to  and extend run time more
than .
• To activate Stealth Mode, press the Stealth
Mode button beneath the dashboard. A blue
light above the button indicates the tool is in
Stealth Mode.
• Press the button again to deactivate Stealth
Mode and return to full speed.

The dashboard is located on the control handle of the Oregon BLHVX-NA and displays the
current charge state of the battery connected to the tool and any faults from the tool or battery.

The California Air Resources Board and Blount International, Inc are pleased to explain the
emission control system warranty on your 20 Zero Emission Equipment In California, new
small off-road engines must be designed, built and equipped to meet the State's stringent anti-
smog standards Blount International, Inc must warrant the emission control system on your
Zero Emission Equipment engine for the periods of time listed below provided there has been no
abuse, neglect or improper maintenance of your small off-road engine
Your emission control system includes the motor, controller, battery, charger and other emission-
related assemblies
Where a warrantable condition exists, Blount International, Inc will repair your Zero Emission
Equipment at no cost to you including diagnosis, parts and labor
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
The Zero Emission Equipment is warranted for two years If any emission-related part on your
engine is defective, the part will be repaired or replaced by Blount International, Inc

- As the Zero Emission Equipment owner, you are responsible for the performance of the required
maintenance listed in your owner's manual. Blount International, Inc. recommends that you retain
all receipts covering maintenance on your Zero Emission Equipment, but Blount International, Inc.
cannot deny warranty solely for the lack of receipts or for your failure to ensure the performance of
all scheduled maintenance.
- As the Zero Emission Equipment owner, you should however be aware that Blount International,
Inc. may deny you warranty coverage if your Zero Emission Equipment or a part has failed due to
abuse, neglect, improper maintenance or unapproved modifications.
- You are responsible for presenting your Zero Emission Equipment engine to a Blount
International, Inc. Authorized Oregon Outdoor Power Equipment Dealer as soon as a problem
exists. The warranty repairs should be completed in a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed 
days.

DEFECT MATERIAL COVERAGE:
Blount International, Inc. further warrants that the Zero Emission Equipment is designed, built, and
equipped so as to conform with all applicable regulations adopted by the Air Resources Board and
is free from defects in materials and workmanship that cause the failure of a warranted part to
be identical in all material respects to the part as described in the manufacturer of zero-emission
small off-road equipment's application for certification for two years.

SYMBOLE SIGNAL SIGNIFICATION
DANGER Indique que si le danger n’est pas évité, il peut entraîner des dommages
matériels importants, des blessures ou la mort.
AVERTISSEMENT Indique que si l’on ne prend pas en compte l’avertissement, cela peut
entraîner des dommages matériels, des blessures ou la mort.
ATTENTION Indique que si des précautions ne sont pas prises, cela peut entraîner des
blessures mineures ou modérées ou des dommages matériels.
IMPORTANT Le respect de ces instructions permettra de mieux apprécier l’outil.

AVERTISSEMENT Lire tous les
avertissements et les consignes de sécurité,
les instructions, les illustrations et les
caractéristiques techniques fournies avec
cet appareil. Le non-respect de toutes les
instructions listées ci-dessous peut entraîner un
choc électrique, un incendie et/ou des blessures
graves.
Conservez en lieu sûr tous les avertissements et
instructions pour référence ultérieure.
Le terme « outil électrique » dans les avertissements
fait référence à votre outil électrique alimenté sur
secteur (avec fil) ou par batterie (sans fil).
SÉCURITÉ DE LA ZONE DE TRAVAIL
• Veiller à ce que la zone de travail reste propre
et soit bien éclairée. Les zones de travail trop
sombres ou encombrées sont source d’accidents.
• Ne pas utiliser des outils électriques dans
une atmosphère explosive, par exemple en
présence de liquides, de gaz ou de poussières
inflammables. Les outils électriques produisent
des étincelles qui peuvent enflammer les
poussières ou les vapeurs.
• Tenir les enfants et les personnes présentes à
l’écart lors de l’utilisation d’un outil électrique.
Des distractions peuvent vous en faire perdre le
contrôle.
SÉCURITÉ ÉLECTRIQUE
• Les fiches de branchement de l’outil électrique
doivent correspondre aux prises électriques
murales. Ne jamais modifier la fiche de
quelque façon que ce soit. Ne pas utiliser un
adaptateur pour la fiche électrique avec des
outils électriques nécessitant une prise de
terre. L’utilisation de fiches non modifiées avec des
prises qui correspondent réduit le risque de choc
électrique.
• Éviter tout contact corporel avec les objets
mis à la terre, comme les tuyauteries, les

fonctionnement et d’entretien qui sont décrites aux chapitres « Consignes de sécurité importantes »
et « Utilisation » avant d’utiliser le souffleur. Contactez votre revendeur Oregon ou le distributeur
Oregon de votre région si vous ne comprenez pas les instructions de ce manuel.
Le texte utilisé dans la section Avertissements généraux de sécurité de l’outil électrique de ce manuel est
retranscrit fidèlement, comme l’exige les normes internationales de sécurité. Ces informations s’appliquent à
de nombreux types d’outils électriques.

Le risque de choc électrique augmente si votre
corps est mis à la terre.
• Ne pas exposer les outils électriques à la pluie
ou à l’humidité. De l’eau qui pénètre dans un outil
électrique augmente le risque d’électrocution. **
• Protéger le cordon. Ne jamais utiliser le cordon
électrique pour transporter, tirer ou débrancher
l’appareil. Éloigner le cordon de la chaleur, de
l’huile, des arêtes tranchantes ou des éléments
mobiles. Les cordons endommagés ou emmêlés
augmentent le risque de choc électrique.
• Lors de l’utilisation d’un outil électrique à
l’extérieur, utiliser une rallonge adaptée à
l’usage à l’extérieur. L’utilisation d’une rallonge
adaptée à l’extérieur diminue le risque de choc
électrique.
• Si vous devez utiliser un outil électrique dans
un endroit humide, utilisez une alimentation
protégée par un disjoncteur différentiel de fuite
à la terre (DDFT) ou par un dispositif différentiel
à courant résiduel (DDR). L’utilisation d’un DDFT
ou d’un DDR réduit le risque de choc électrique. *
** La section ci-dessus : « Ne pas exposer les outils
électriques à la pluie ou à l’humidité » s’applique aux
outils électriques en général. Cependant, les outils
de la gamme Oregon V Professional Series
alimentés par batterie ont été spécialement
conçus pour fonctionner dans des conditions
humides ou pluvieuses.
** La section ci-dessus : « Si vous devez utiliser un
outil électrique dans un endroit humide, utilisez une
alimentation protégée par un disjoncteur différentiel
de fuite à la terre (DDFT) ou par un dispositif
différentiel à courant résiduel (DDR) » s’applique
aux outils électriques alimentés sur secteur en
général. Cependant, l’utilisation d’un DDFT ou d’un
DDR avec des outils de la gamme Oregon V
Professional Series alimentés par batteries ne
s’applique pas.
SÉCURITÉ PERSONNELLE
• Rester vigilant, bien regarder ce que vous
faites et faire preuve de jugement lorsque
vous utilisez un outil électrique. Ne pas
utiliser d’outil électrique si vous êtes fatigué
ou sous l’influence de drogues, d’alcool ou de
médicaments. Un moment d’inattention lors de
l’utilisation d’un outil électrique peut entraîner des
blessures corporelles graves.
• Utiliser un équipement de protection
individuelle. Toujours porter des protections
pour les yeux. Le port d’équipements de protection,
comme un masque antipoussière, des chaussures
de sécurité antidérapantes, un casque de chantier
ou une protection auditive adaptés aux conditions
permet de réduire les risques de blessure.
• Empêcher un démarrage accidentel de l’outil.
S’assurer que l’interrupteur est en position
« OFF » (arrêt) avant de brancher la machine à
une source d’alimentation électrique ou à une
batterie et avant de soulever et de transporter
l’outil. Le transport d’outils électriques en gardant
le doigt sur l’interrupteur, ou brancher des outils
à une source d’alimentation électrique alors que
l’interrupteur est en position « ON » (marche), sont
des sources d’accidents.
• Retirer toute clé de réglage ou autre outil avant
de mettre l’outil électrique sous tension. Une clé
ou un outil qui reste attaché à une pièce tournante
de l’outil électrique peut être cause de blessures.
• Ne pas se pencher trop en avant. Veiller à
maintenir un bon équilibre et vérifier où vous
posez les pieds. Ceci permet de mieux contrôler
l’outil électrique dans des situations inattendues.
• Porter des vêtements appropriés. Ne pas porter
de vêtements amples ni des bijoux. Maintenir
vos cheveux, les vêtements et les gants
éloignés des éléments en mouvement. Les
vêtements amples, les bijoux et les cheveux longs
peuvent être attrapés par les pièces mobiles.
• Si des dispositifs sont fournis pour le
raccordement à des appareils d’extraction et
de récupération des poussières, s’assurer que
ceux-ci sont connectés et utilisés comme il
se doit. L’utilisation d’appareils de récupération
des poussières peut réduire les dangers liés à la
présence de poussières.
• La bonne connaissance des outils découlant
d’une utilisation fréquente de ceux-ci ne doit
pas être source de complaisance et ne doit
pas vous faire ignorer les principes de sécurité
de base associés à l’outil concerné. Un acte
imprudent peut causer de graves blessures en une
fraction de seconde.
UTILISATION ET ENTRETIEN DE L’OUTIL
ÉLECTRIQUE
• Ne pas forcer l’outil. Utiliser l’outil électrique
adapté à l’utilisation souhaitée. L’outil électrique
adapté sera plus efficace et plus sûr et pourra
fonctionner à la vitesse pour laquelle il a été conçu.
• Ne pas utiliser l’outil électrique si la gâchette
marche/arrêt ne fonctionne pas correctement.
Un outil électrique qui ne peut pas être contrôlé par
la gâchette est dangereux et doit être réparé.
• Débrancher la prise de la source électrique et/
ou retirer le bloc batterie, s’il est détachable,
de l’outil électrique avant tout réglage ou
changement d’accessoire, et avant le stockage
de celui-ci. Ces mesures de sécurité préventives
réduisent le risque de démarrage accidentel de
l’outil électrique.
