IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Read all instructions before using this appliance. When using this appliance,
always exercise basic safety precautions, including the following:
1. Use this appliance only for its intended purpose asdescribed inthis instructionmanual.
2. This refrigerator must be properly installed in accordance with the installation
instructions before it isused. See grounding instructions inthe Installation section.
3. This refrigerator should not be recessed or built-in. It isdesigned for free-standing
installation only.
4. If refrigerator isplaced on a counter top or stand, the front surface of the door should
be 3" or more back from the edge of the counter top or stand to avoid accidental
tipping of the appliance during normal usage.
5. Never unplug your refrigerator by pulling on the power cord. Always grip plug firmly
and pull straight out from the outlet.
6. Repair or replace immediately all electric service cords that have become frayed or
otherwise damaged. Do not use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage
along its length or at either the plug or connector end.
7. If your old refrigerator is still around the house but not in use, be sure to remove
the doors. This wilt reduce the possibility of danger to children.
8. After your refrigerator is in operation, do not touch the cold surfaces in the freezer
compartment, particularly when hands are damp or wet. Skin may adhere to these
extremely cold surfaces.
9. Don't refreeze foods which have been thawed completely. The United States Depart-
ment of Agriculture in Home and Garden Bulletin No. 69 says:
"... You may safely refreeze frozen foods that have thawed if they still contain ice
crystals or if they are still cold, i.e., below 40°F. ''
"... Thawed ground meats, poultry, or fish that have any off-odor or off-color should
not be refrozen and should not be eaten. Thawed ice cream should be discarded.
If the odor or color of any food is poor or questionable, get rid of it. The food may
be dangerous to eat."
"... Even partial thawing and refreezing reduce the eating quality of foods, particularly
fruits, vegetables, and prepared foods. The eating quality of red meats is affected
less than that of many other foods. Use refrozen foods as soon as possible to save
as much of their eating quality as you can."
10. Do not use any electrical device or any sharp instrument indefrosting your refrigerator.
11. Unplug your refrigerator before cleaning or before making any repairs.
Note: We strongly recommend that any servicing be performed by a qualified individual.
12. Do not operate your refrigerator in the presence of explosive fumes.

Energy-Saving Tips
• Do not place your refrigerator next to a heating vent, a range or in direct
sunlight.
• Keep the doors dosed as much as possible, especially in hot, humid
weather.
• Defrost the freezer compartment whenever frost becomes _ inch thick.
• Cover foods to reduce moisture buildup inside the refrigerator.
Water Connection
The ice maker in the freezer compartment must be connected to a continuous
water supply with a minimum pressure of 15 psig and a static pressure not to
exceed 80 psig. A cold water inlet of 1/4" soft copper tubing with a shut-off
valve is required. A 1/4" FPT (Female Pipe Thread) fitting will make the
connection to the short inlet tube at the back of the refrigerator. The
temperature of the water feeding into the ice maker should be between 41°F
and 90°F for proper operation.
In general, it is always a good idea to use a water filter. A water filter, if it is of
the proper type, can remove taste and odors as well as particles. Some water

Refrigerator Installation
The refrigerator is designed for free-standing installation only. It should not be
recessed or built in. Install the refrigerator on a base strong enough to support
it when fully loaded. If the base is not level, adjust the feet of the refrigerator.
Allow air to circulate freely around the refrigerator. The following clearances
permit proper air circulation: top - 4", back - 4", sides - 4".
Electrical Connection
Important: For personal safety, this appliance must be properly
grounded.
In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric
shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance is
equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug
must be inserted into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
Consult a qualified electrician or service center if the grounding instructions
are not completely understood. If doubt exists as to whether the appliance is
properly grounded, have a qualified electrician check the circuit to make sure
the outlet is properly grounded.
Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong
from the power cord.
Use of Extension Cords
Avoid the use of an extension cord because of potential safety hazards under
certain conditions. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a
3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding plug and a 3-slot outlet
that will accept the plug. The marked rating of the extension cord must be
equal to or greater than the electrical rating of the appliance.

Operating Your Refrigerator and Ice Maker
Do not plug in the refrigerator for 24 hours after unit is set in place. Failure to
do so may result in the unit working improperly.
Thermostat
The thermostat has settings from 0 through 7.
0 is the warmest. 7 is the coldest.
Initially set the thermostat to 3or 4.
After using the refrigerator for 24 hours, adjust
the thermostat to the setting that is best suited
to your needs. Turning the thermostat to 0
stops the cooling cycle but does not shut off power to the refrigerator.
Important: If you unplug or turn off the refrigerator, allow 3 minutes before
restarting it or plugging it back in. It will not restart in less than 3 minutes.
Freezer Compartment
This freezer compartment has a "0" degree freezer that can be used as a
primary-use refrigerator. Please check to determine how long certain meats
and fish can be safely stored in a frozen state.
Using the Ice Maker
Drawings 1 and 2 below show how to turn power to the ice maker off and on.

NOTE: The ice maker will not work unless connected to a water supply line as
described on pages 3 and 4.
Once the water line is connected and the unit is plugged in, open the freezer
compartment and press down the ice sensor bar (Drawing 2). The water will
make its way to the ice maker and begin to make ice when the temperature of
the freezer compartment gets below the freezing point (32°F). When formed,
the ice cubes will automatically drop onto the ice tray. Occasionally the cubes
may freeze together but they can be separated easily.
You will hear sounds when water rushes through the ice maker and when the
cubes drop to the tray during the ice-making process. The ice sensor bar will
gradually rise up as the tray becomes filled with ice, and this will eventually
stop the production of cubes. Ice making will continue once the cubes have
been removed and the sensor bar is lowered.
To manually turn off the ice maker, raise the sensor bar to the "locked"
position (Drawing 1).
IMPORTAN T
• Do not turn on the ice maker unless the
water line is connected and water has
been allowed to flow into the unit.
• Do not place any bottles, cans or food in
the ice maker as this can damage it.
The first batch of ice cubes will be formed within 24 hours after electrical and
water connections have been made for the unit. If no ice is removed, it should
take 3 or 4 days to fill the ice tray.
For sanitary reasons, the first several batches of ice cubes should be
discarded when the ice maker is being used for the first time. If the cubes
show a blue or green tint, they should not be consumed. This is an indication
that the water is not pure and should be filtered.
If ice cubes have not been removed for a long period of time, they may start to
freeze together. You can turn off the ice maker by raising the sensor bar as
shown on page 5 in Drawing 1. If the ice maker will be off for an extended
period of time, turn off the water supply and disconnect the water connection,
allowing water to drain out of the system.

Shelving and Can Dispenser
The refrigerator has shelves that can be moved to different levels to suit your
food storage needs. The door shelves provide storage for small and large
items and a bottle storage area for tall bottles. The door also has a handy can
dispenser.
Care and Cleaninq
Cleaning the Outside
Clean the outside of the refrigerator with a mild solution of soapy water. Dry
thoroughly with a soft cloth. To clean the door gaskets, use only mild, soapy
water. Never use harsh cleansers, scouring pads or anything abrasive to
clean any part of the refrigerator.
Cleaning the Inside
Unplug the refrigerator and remove food, shelves and trays. Wash inside with
warm water and baking soda solution (about two tablespoons of baking soda
to a quart of water.) Then rinse and dry. Do not use cleansers such as soaps,
detergents, scouring powder or spray cleaners which can cause odors inside
the refrigerator.
Wash the ice tray and shelving in mild detergent solution and dry with a soft
cloth. To help prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda in the
refrigerator. Change the box every three months.
Do not wash any plastic parts from your refrigerator in the dishwasher.
NEVER USE ACIDS, GASOLINE/PAINT THINNER FOR CLEANING ANY
PART OF THE REFRIGERATOR. Never use boiling water which can deform
plastic parts.
Defrosting
Your refrigerator is a cycle-defrost model. This means that the unit is
frost-free in the refrigerator section with a manual-defrost freezer.
The refrigerator section should frequently show an ice sheen on the back wall
and periodically this will change to water, fall to a channel built into the wall
and be drained into a container located on top of the compressor in the back.
The internal temperature will allow this process to repeat itself over and over.
If ice persists on the back wall and begins to form a ball of ice, check the
Troubleshooting portion of the manual.

Troubleshooting
Refrigerator does not operate
-Not plugged in.
-Thermostat is in 0 position.
- Circuit breaker tripped or fuse blown.
Tums on and off frequently
-This is normal. Small refrigerators cycle more than larger ones.
Seems to run too long
-Check for proper clearances.
- Frequent door openings let cold air escape.
Refrigerator too warm
- Check if doors are fully closed.
- Check setting of thermostat.
- Have you put large amounts of warm food into the refrigerator recently?
-Are the shelves overcrowded?
Frost build-up on back wall of refrigerator section.
-Refrigerator section is too cold.
- Thermostat bulb may be touching the back wall of the unit.
Noise or vibration
-Check to be sure that refrigerator is level. Adjust the feet to make it level.

Cabinet has odor
- Foods with strong odors should be tightly covered.
- Check for spoiled food.
- Interior may need cleaning.
- Keep an open box ofbaking soda in refrigerator. (Replace every 3 months.)
Ice making stops after working for a long period
- Ice sensor bar is locked in the turn-off position (Drawing 1). Press down
the sensor bar.
- Water supply is cut off.
- Low water pressure
- High temperature in the freezer compartment
Ice is melting
- No power
- The door of the freezer compartment is not closed properly.
Ice cubes stick in the ice compartment or block the ice tray
- Water may cause calcification in the ice compartment. Use vinegar to
clean it.
- Temperature in the freezer compartment is too low. Adjust the
thermostat.
Size variation in the ice cubes
- Melt water in the freezer compartment flows into the ice compartment.
Defrost the freezer.
- There is some residual water in the ice storage area.
- The refrigerator is not level. Adjust the legs.

Limited Warranty
OrienUSA, L.L.C., warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workman
ship for a per iod of one year from the date of the original purchase or delivery. Orien also
warrants the compressor for an additional 4 years with a Parts-only warranty* (no Labor after first
year). Any parts that are determined to be defective will be replaced or repaired, at its sole
discretion, by Orien at no charge as long as it has been determined that the unit was operated in
accordance with the instructions attached or furnished with the product. If the unit proves to be de
fective, your first course of action should be to follow the retailer's return policy.
This warranty covers units only in the continental United States and does not cover the following:
•Damage from improper voltage or installation
• Damage in shipping
• Defects other than manufacturing defects
• Any installation expenses that may be incurred
• Glass, tdm or light bulb
• Labor or repairs after the initial 12-month period

El fabricante de hielo en el compartimiento del congelador debe ser conectado
a un suministro continuo de agua con una presi6n minima de 15 psig y una

de cobre suave de 1/4" con una valvula shut-off es requerida. Un conector
FPT (Female Pipe Thread) de 1/4" hara la conexi6n al tubo corto de atras del

debe estar entre 41°F y 90°F para la operaci6n apropiada.
En general, es siempre una idea buena de usar un filtro de agua. Un filtro de
agua, si es del tipo apropiado, puede quitar el sabor y los olores asi como
tambi6n particulas. Alguna agua es muy dura. El agua ablandada puede tener
como resultado cubitos blancos y blandos que peganse. El agua de-ionizada
no se recomienda.
El fabricante de hielo debe ser instalado de acuerdo con los requisitos del
c6digo local de plomeria. La instalaci6n profesional se recomienda.

InstalaciOn del refrigerador
Este refrigerador ha sido dise_ado para ser auto-estable solamente; no puede
ser empotrado. La base debe ser fuerte, para sostener el refrigerador cuando
est6 completamente Ileno. Si la base no esta a nivel, ajuste las patas del
refrigerador. Haga que el aire circule libremente alrededor del refrigerador.
Las siguientes distancias permiten el flujo del aire: arriba 4" (10 cm), atras 4" y
los lados 4".
Conexibn eldctrica
ilMPORTANTE! Para su seguridad personal, este refrigerador debe tener
la instalaci6n de tierra adecuada. Si hubiese un corte circuito, la instalaci6n
de tierra reduce el peligro de una descarga electrica, ya que Io provee con el
alambre el6ctrico como escape para la corriente electrica. Esta unidad esta
equipada con el cord6n electrico con el conectador correcto para su enchufe.
El conectador debe ser insertado en el enchufe de pared previamente y
correctamente instalado. Consulte con un electricista licenciado o con una
estaci6n de servicio si no esta completamente seguro de la instalci6n
adecuada, de tierra. Si tiene dudas de si el equipo esta correctamente
instalado, haga que un electricista certificado verifique el circuito, para
asegurar que est6 bien en tierra.

El uso de cordones de extensibn
Evite el uso de cordones de extensi6n, dado el potencial de riesgo que con
ellos Ilevan. Si fuese necesario usarlo, solamente use el cord6n de extensi6n
con 3 cables internos, con los tres conectores de enchufe de pared. El grado
de capacidad del cord6n de extensi6n debe ser igual o mayor que la

OperaciOn del refrigerador y fabricante de hielo
No conecte el refrigerador pot 24 horas despu6s que la unidad se pone en el
lugar. Si no la unidad puede funcionar impropiamente.
Termostato
El termostato tiene el montador del control de
temperatura de 0 a 7.
0 es la temperatura mas caliente. 7 es la
temperatura mas fria.
Inicialmente, ponga el termostato en 3 o 4.
Despues de haber usado el refrigerador las
primeras 24 horas, ajuste el termostato a la temperatura que mejor se ajuste a
sus necesidades. El poner el termostato en 0 detiene el ciclo de enfriamiento,
pero no apaga el motor no detiene el funcionamiento de su refrigerador.
ilMPORTANTE! Si usted desconecta la electricidad del refrigerador o Io pone
en O, espere 3 minutos antes de volver a arrancarlo o a conectarlo. El equipo
no volvera a arrancar de nuevo antes de estos 3 minutos.
Compartimento del congelador
Este compartimento tiene un congelador ajustable a "0" grado, que puede ser
usado como refrigerador primario. Por favor, chequee para determinar por
cuanto tiempo algunos pescados y carnes se pueden mantener congelados,
sin peligro.

IMPORTANTE
• No prenda al fabricante de hielo a menos que la
linea de agua se conecte y el agua haya sido
permitido desembocar en la unidad.
• No coloque ningunas botellas, latas o alimento en
el fabricante de hielo como esto Io puede da_ar.
La primera tanda de cubitos de hielo se formara dentro de 24 horas despu6s
que las conexiones de electricidad y de agua han sido hecho a la unidad. Si
ningQn hielo se quita, debe requerir 3 o 4 dias para Ilenar la bandeja de hielo.
Para razones sanitarias, las primeras varias tandas de cubitos de hielo se
deben desechar cuando el fabricante de hielo esta usado por la primera vez.
Si los cubos muestran un tinte azul o verde, ellos no deben ser consumidos.
Esto es una indicaci6n que el agua no es pura y debe ser filtrada.

Estanteria y dispensador de latas
El refrigerador tiene estantes que se pueden mover a diferentes niveles, de
acuerdo con sus necesidades especiales. La puerta tambi6n tiene estantes
para guardar articulos pequefios o grandes y un dep6sito para botellas altas.
La puerta tiene tambi6n un practico dispensador de latas.
Cuidado y limpieza
Para limpiar el exterior:
Limpie el exterior del refrigerador con una soluci6n suave de agua con jab6n.
S6quelo con un patio suave. Para limpiar la junta de la puerta, tambi6n use
solamente una soluci6n suave de agua con jab6n. NUNCA use productos
fuertes o abrasivos ni utensilios de alambre para limpiar ninguna parte del
refrigerador.
Para limpiar el interior:
Desconecte el refrigerador y saque toda la comida, las bandejas y los
estantes. Lave adentro con una soluci6n de agua y soda de hornear (2
cucharadas de soda de hornear por cada cuarto de agua). Despues enjuague
y seque el interior. No use limpiadores como jab6n, detergentes, polvos
abrasivos ni rocios o vaporizadores, que dejaran olores en el interior del
refrigerador.
Lave la bandeja de hacer cubos de hielo y los estantes en una soluci6n suave
de agua y detergente y s6quelos con un paso suave. Para prevenir olores,
deje la caja abierta de soda de hornear adentro del refrigerador. Cambie la
caja cada tres meses.
No lave ninguna parte plastica del refrigerador en la lavadora de platos.
NUNCA USE AClDOS, GASOLINA O REMOVEDOR DE PINTURA PARA
LIMPIAR NINGUNA PARTE DE SU REFRIGERADOR. Nunca use agua
hirviendo, que puede desfigurar las partes plasticas.

Descongelacion
Su refrigerador es un modelo de descongelaci6n semi-automatico. Esto
quiere decir que su refrigerador no tendra hielo y el congelador es de
descongelaci6n manual.
La parte del refrigerador debe mostrar frecuentemente un lustre de hielo en la
pared de atras y peri6dicamente esto cambiara en agua, caera a un canal
construido a la pared y se drenara en un contenedor Iocalizado encima del
compresor en la parte de atras. La temperatura interna permilJra que este
proceso repetirase repetidamente. Si hubiese hielo en el plato del evaporador
en la pared de atras, por favor consulte Mediaciones y soluciones mas abajo.
La secci6n del congelador comenzara a acumular hielo en las paredes.
Cuando el hielo tenga 6 mm, sera necesario raspar el hielo de las paredes
interiores. Para hacer esto, proveemos el raspador plastico. Nunca use
objeto afilado o de metal, ya que pudiera estropear los conductos en el
congelador. Una perforaci6n en este sistema de ciclo de enfriamiento no se
puede arreglar y haria la garantia nula.
Para descongelar el congelador, apague el termostato (en 0) y raspe el hielo
de las paredes del interior. Devuelva los alimentos a el congelador y de
nuevo arranque el termostato.
