IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Read all instructions before using this appliance. When using this appliance,
always exercise basic safety precautions, including the following:
1. Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described inthis instructionmanual.
2. This refrigerator must be properly installed in accordance with the installation
instructions before it is used. See grounding instructions in the Installation section.
3. This refrigerator should not be recessed or built-in. It is designed for free-standing
installation only.
4. If refrigerator is placed on a counter top or stand, the front surface of the door should
be 3" or more back from the edge of the counter top or stand to avoid accidental
tipping of the appliance during normal usage.
5. Never unplug your refrigerator by pulling on the power cord. Always grip plug firmly
and pull straight out from the outlet.
6. Repair or replace immediately all electric service cords that have become frayed or
otherwise damaged. Do not use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage along
its length or at either the plug or connector end.
7. If your old refrigerator is still around the house but not in use, be sure to remove the
doors. This will reduce the possibility of danger to children.
8. After your refrigerator is in operation, do not touch the cold surfaces in the freezer
compartment, particulartywhen hands are damp or wet. Skin may adhere to these
extremely cold surfaces.
9. Don't refreeze foods which have been thawed completely. The United States Depart-
ment of Agriculture in Home and Garden Bulletin No. 69 says:
"... You may safely refreeze frozen foods that have thawed if they still contain ice
crystals or if they are still cold _ below 40°F."
"... Thawed ground meats, poultry, or fish that have any off-odor or off-color should
not be refrozen and should not be eaten. Thawed ice cream should be discarded.
If the odor or color of any food is poor or questionable, get rid of it. The food may be
dangerous to eat."
"... Even partial thawing and refreezing reduce the eating quality of foods, particularly
fruits, vegetables, and prepared foods. The eating quality of red meats is affected
less than that of many other foods. Use refrozen foods as soon as possible to save
as much of their eating quality as you can."
10. Do not use any electrical device or any sharp instrument in defrosting your refrigerator.
11. Unplug your refrigerator before cleaning or before making any repairs.
Note: We strongly recommend that any servicing be performed by a qualified individual.
12. Do not operate your refrigerator in the presence of explosive fumes.

Water Connection
The ice maker in the freezer compartment must be connected to a continuous
water supply with a minimum pressure of 15 psig and a static pressure not to
exceed 80 psig. A cold water inlet of 1/4" soft copper tubing with a shut-off
valve is required. A 1/4" FPT (Female Pipe Thread) fitting will make the
connection to the short inlet tube at the back of the refrigerator. The
temperature of the water feeding into the ice maker should be between 41°F
and 90°F for proper operation.

Refrigerator Installation
The refrigerator is designed for free-standing installation only. It should not be
recessed or built in. Install the refrigerator on a base strong enough to support
it when fully loaded. If the base is not level, adjust the feet of the refrigerator.
Allow air to circulate freely around the refrigerator. The following clearances
permit proper air circulation: top - 4", back - 4", sides - 4".
Electrical Connection
Important: For personal safety, this appliance must be properly
grounded.
In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric
shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance is
equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug
must be inserted into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded.
Consult a qualified electrician or service center if the grounding instructions
are not completely understood. If doubt exists as to whether the appliance is
properly grounded, have a qualified electrician check the circuit to make sure
the outlet is properly grounded.
Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong
from the power cord.
Use of Extension Cords
Avoid the use of an extension cord because of potential safety hazards under
certain conditions. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a
3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding plug and a 3-slot outlet
that will accept the plug. The marked rating of the extension cord must be
equal to or greater than the electrical rating of the appliance.

Operating Your Refrigerator and Ice Maker
Do not plug in the refrigerator for 24 hours after unit is set in place. Failure to
do so may result in the unit working improperly.
OFF
Thermostat
The thermostat has settings from MIN to MAX, plus
OFF. MIN is the warmest. MAX is the coldest.
Initially set the thermostat to MED. MED
After using the refrigerator for 24 hours, adjust the
thermostat to the setting that is best suited to your needs. Turning the
thermostat to OFF stops the cooling cycle but does not shut off power to the
refrigerator.
Important: If you unplug or turn off the refrigerator, allow 3 minutes before
restarting it or plugging it back in. It will not restart in less than 3 minutes.
Freezer / Ice Maker Compartment
This compartment can be used as a freezer for short-term food storage (a few
days at most). It is not cold enough to freeze foods safely for extended periods
of time.
The compartment can also be used as an ice maker. However, you should not
attempt to use it as a freezer if the ice-making mechanism is turned on.
Placing bottles, cans or foodstuffs into the compartment while the ice maker is
working can damage the unit.
Using the Ice Maker
IMPORTANT
• Do not turn on the ice maker unless the
water line is connected and water has
been allowed to flow into the unit.
• Do not place any bottles, cans or food in
the ice maker as this can damage it.

NOTE: The ice maker will not work unless connected to a water supply line as
described on pages 3 and 4.
Once the water line is connected and the unit is plugged in, open the freezer
compartment and press down the ice sensor bar (Drawing 2). The water will
make its way to the ice maker and begin to make ice when the temperature of
the freezer compartment gets below the freezing point (32°F). When formed,
the ice cubes will automatically drop onto the ice tray. Occasionally the cubes
may freeze together but they can be separated easily.
You will hear sounds when water rushes through the ice maker and when the
cubes drop to the tray during the ice-making process. The ice sensor bar will
gradually rise up as the tray becomes filled with ice, and this will eventually
stop the production of cubes. Ice making will continue once the cubes have
been removed and the sensor bar is lowered.
To manually turn off the ice maker, raise the sensor bar to the "locked"
position (Drawing 1).
The first batch of ice cubes will be formed within 24 hours after electrical and
water connections have been made for the unit. If no ice is removed, it should
take 3 or 4 days to fill the ice tray.
For sanitary reasons, the first several batches of ice cubes should be
discarded when the ice maker is being used for the first time. If the cubes

thatthewaterisnotpureandshouldbefiltered.
Ificecubeshavenotbeenremovedforalongperiodoftime,theymaystartto
freezetogether.Youcanturnofftheicemakerbyraisingthesensorbaras
shownon page6 in Drawing1.If theice makerwill beofffor anextended
periodof time,turnoffthewatersupplyanddisconnectthewaterconnection,
allowingwatertodrainoutofthesystem.
Shelving and Can Dispenser
The refrigerator has shelves that can be moved to different levels to suit your
food storage needs. The door shelves provide storage for small and large
items and a bottle storage area for tall bottles. The door also has a handy can
dispenser.
Can Storage
The Can Dispenser on the inside of the door allows for convenient storage of
any juices or soft drinks that fit into the receptacle slot.
Care and C/eaning
Cleaning the Outside
Clean the outside of the refrigerator with a mild solution of soapy water. Dry
thoroughly with a soft cloth. To clean the door gasket, use only mild, soapy
water. Never use harsh cleansers, scouring pads or anything abrasive to clean
any part of the refrigerator.
Cleaning the Inside
Unplug the refrigerator and remove food, shelves and trays. Wash inside with
warm water and baking soda solution (about two tablespoons of baking soda
to a quart of water.) Then rinse and dry. Do not use cleansers such as soaps,
detergents, scouring powder or spray cleaners which can cause odors inside
the refrigerator.
Wash the ice tray and shelving in mild detergent solution and dry with a soft
cloth. To help prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda in the
refrigerator. Change the box every three months.
Do not wash any plastic parts from your refrigerator in the dishwasher.
NEVER USE ACIDS, GASOLINE/PAINT THINNER FOR CLEANING ANY
PART OF THE REFRIGERATOR. Never use boiling water which can deform
plastic parts.

Defrosting
Defrost whenever frost on the wall of the freezer/ice maker compartment
becomes _" thick, Never use a sharp or metallic instrument to remove frost as
it may damage the cooling coils, (A punctured cooling coil will cause serious
problems and void the warranty,) We recommend using a plastic scraper,
To defrost, remove foods and ice tray from the freezer compartment, Be sure
the drip tray is in place, and set the thermostat to the OFF position, Defrosting
usually takes a few hours, To defrost faster, keep the door open and place a
bowl of warm water in the refrigerator, After defrosting, empty water from the
drip tray,
Wash the drip tray in warm water, Wipe the freezer compartment with a damp
cloth, Turn the thermostat to the desired setting and return food and ice tray
to the refrigerator,
Troubleshooting
Refrigerator does not operate
-Not plugged in.
- Thermostat is in OFF position.
- Circuit breaker tripped or fuse blown.
Tums on and off frequently
- This is normal. Small refrigerators cycle more often than larger ones.
Seems to run too long
- Check for proper clearances.
- Frequent door openings let cold air escape.
Refrigerator too warm
- Check if door is fully closed.
- Check setting of thermostat.
- Have you put large amounts of warm food into the refrigerator recently?
-Are the shelves overcrowded?

Frost build-up on back wall of refrigerator section.
- Refrigerator section is too cold.
- Thermostat bulb may be touching the back wall of the unit.
Noise or vibration
- Check to be sure that refrigerator is level. Adjust the feet to make it level.
Cabinet has odor
- Foods with strong odors should be tightly covered.
- Check for spoiled food.
- Interior may need cleaning.
- Keep an open box ofbaking soda in refrigerator. (Replace every 3 months.)
Ice making stops after working for a long period
- Ice sensor bar is locked in the turn-off position (Drawing 1). Press down
the sensor bar.
- Water supply is cut off.
- Low water pressure
- High temperature in the freezer compartment
Ice is melting
- No power
- The door of the freezer compartment is not closed properly.
Ice cubes stick in the ice compartment or block the ice tray
- Water may cause calcification in the ice compartment. Use vinegar to
clean it.
- Temperature in the freezer compartment is too low. Adjust the
thermostat.
Size variation in the ice cubes
- Melt water in the freezer compartment flows into the ice compartment.
Defrost the freezer.
- There is some residual water in the ice storage area.
- The refrigerator is not level. Adjust the legs.

Limited Warranty
OrienUSA, L.L.C., warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workman
ship for a per iod of one year from the date of the original purchase or delivery. Orien also
warrants the compressor for an additional 4 years with a Parts-only warranty* (no Labor after first
year). Any parts that are determined to be defective will be replaced or repaired, at its sole
discretion, by Orien at no charge as long as it has been determined that the unit was operated in
accordance with the instructions attached or furnished with the product. If the unit proves to be de
fective, your first course of action should be to follow the retailer's return policy.
This warranty covers units only in the continental United States and does not cover the following:
•Damage from improper voltage or installation
• Damage in shipping
• Defects other than manufacturing defects
• Any installation expenses that may be incurred
• Glass, tdm or light bulb
• Labor or repairs after the initial 12-month period
• Damage from abuse, misuse, accident, alteration or lack of proper care or

ConexiOn del agua
El fabricante de hielo en el compartimiento del congelador debe ser conectado
a un suministro continuo de agua con una presi6n minima de 15 psig y una
presi6n estatica para no exceder 80 psig. Una entrada de agua fria de tuberia
de cobre suave de 1/4" con una valvula shut-off es requerida. Un conector
FPT (Female Pipe Thread) de 1/4" hara la conexi6n al tubo corto de atras del
refrigerador. La temperatura del agua que alimenta en el fabricante de hielo
debe estar entre 41°F y 90°F para la operaci6n apropiada.
En general, es siempre una idea buena de usar un filtro de agua. Un filtro de
agua, si es del tipo apropiado, puede quitar el sabor y los olores asi como
tambi6n particulas. Alguna agua es muy dura. El agua ablandada puede tener
como resultado cubitos blancos y blandos que peganse. El agua de-ionizada
no se recomienda.
El fabricante de hielo debe ser instalado de acuerdo con los requisitos del
c6digo local de plomeria. La instalaci6n profesional se recomienda.

InstalaciOn del refrigerador
Este refrigerador ha sido dise_ado para ser auto-estable solamente; no puede
ser empotrado. La base debe ser fuerte, para sostener el refrigerador cuando
est6 completamente Ileno. Si la base no esta a nivel, ajuste las patas del
refrigerador. Haga que el aire circule libremente alrededor del refrigerador.
Las siguientes distancias permiten el flujo del aire: arriba 4" (10 cm), atras 4" y
los lados 4".
Conexibn eldctrica
ilMPORTANTE! Para su seguridad personal, este refrigerador debe tener
la instalaci6n de tierra adecuada. Si hubiese un corte circuito, la instalaci6n
de tierra reduce el peligro de una descarga electrica, ya que Io provee con el
alambre el6ctrico como escape para la corriente electrica. Esta unidad esta
equipada con el cord6n electrico con el conectador correcto para su enchufe.
El conectador debe ser insertado en el enchufe de pared previamente y
correctamente instalado. Consulte con un electricista licenciado o con una
estaci6n de servicio si no esta completamente seguro de la instalci6n
adecuada, de tierra. Si tiene dudas de si el equipo esta correctamente
instalado, haga que un electricista certificado verifique el circuito, para
asegurar que est6 bien en tierra.
NUNCA, bajo ninguna circunstancia, corte oremueva el tercer enganche
o conector del enchufe del cord6n electrico.
El uso de cordones de extensibn
Evite el uso de cordones de extensi6n, dado el potencial de riesgo que con
ellos Ilevan. Si fuese necesario usarlo, solamente use el cord6n de extensi6n
con 3 cables internos, con los tres conectores de enchufe de pared. El grado
de capacidad del cord6n de extensi6n debe ser igual o mayor que la
evaluaci6n de capacidad de electricidad del refrigerador.

OperaciOn del refrigerador y del fabricante de hielo
No conecte el refrigerador por 24 horas despu6s que la unidad se pone en el
lugar. Si no la unidad puede funcionar impropiamente. OFF
Termostato
El termostato tiene los ajustes de temperatura de MIN
aMAX, y OFF (APAGADO).
MIN es la temperatura mas caliente. MAX es la
temperatura mas fria.
Inicialmente, ponga el termostato en MED. MED
Despues de haber usado el refrigerador las primeras 24 horas, ajuste el
termostato a la temperatura que mejor se ajuste a sus necesidades. El poner
el termostato en OFF detiene el ciclo de enfriamiento, pero no apaga el motor
no detiene el funcionamiento de su refrigerador.
ilMPORTANTE! Si usted desconecta la electricidad del refrigerador o Io pone
en OFF, espere 3 minutos antes de volver a arrancarlo o a conectarlo. El
equipo no volvera a arrancar de nuevo antes de estos 3 minutos.
Compartimento del congelador / fabricante de hielo
Este compartimiento se puede usar como un congelador para el
almacenamiento a corto plazo de alimento (unos pocos dias a Io mas). No
esta suficientemente frio para congelar alimentos seguramente por periodos
extendidos de tiempo.
El compartimiento se puede usar tambi6n como un fabricante de hielo. Sin
embargo, usted no debe tratar de usarlo como un congelador si el mecanismo
haciendo de hielo est& prendido. Poniendo las botellas, latas o comestibles en
el compartimiento mientras el fabricante de hielo funciona puede da_ar la
unidad.

NOTA: El fabricante de hielo no funcionara a menos que est6 conectado a
una linea de suministro de agua como se describi6 en la pagina 14.
Una vez que la linea de agua se conecta y la unidad esta enchufada, abre el
compartimiento del congelador y presiona hacia abajo la barra sensor de hielo
(Dibujo 2). El agua viajara al fabricante de hielo y comenzara a hacer hielo
cuando la temperatura del compartimiento del congelador desciende bajo el
punto de congelaci6n (32°F). Cuando se estan formados, los cubitos de hielo
caeran automaticamente en la bandeja de hielo. Ocasionalmente los cubitos
pueden congelar juntos pero ellos pueden ser separados facilmente.
Usted oira los sonidos cuando el agua corre por el fabricante de hielo y
cuando los cubitos caen a la bandeja durante el proceso de haciendo el hielo.
La barra sensor de hielo subira gradualmente como la bandeja Ilega a ser

fabricantede hielo estaraapagadopor un periodoextendidode tiempo,
apagueel suministrodeaguaydesconectalaconexi6ndeagua,permitiendo
queelaguadesag0efueradelsistema.
Estanteria y dispensador de latas
El refrigerador tiene estantes que se pueden mover a diferentes niveles, de
acuerdo con sus necesidades especiales. La puerta tambi6n tiene estantes
para guardar articulos pequefios o grandes y un dep6sito para botellas altas.
La puerta tiene tambi6n un practico dispensador de latas.
Cuidado y limpieza
Para limpiar el exterior:
Limpie el exterior del refrigerador con una soluci6n suave de agua con jab6n.
S6quelo con un paso suave. Para limpiar la junta de la puerta, tambi6n use
solamente una soluci6n suave de agua con jab6n. NUNCA use productos

fuerteso abrasivosni utensiliosde alambreparalimpiarningunapartedel
refrigerador.
Paralimpiarel interior:
Desconecteel refrigeradory saquetoda la comida,las bandejasy los
estantes.Laveadentrocon unasoluci6nde aguay sodade homear(2
cucharadasdesodadehomearporcadacuartodeagua).Despuesenjuague
y sequeel interior. No use limpiadorescomojab6n,detergentes,polvos
abrasivosni rocioso vaporizadores,quedejaranoloresen el interiordel
refrigerador.
Lavela bandejadehacercubosdehieloylosestantesenunasoluci6nsuave
de aguay detergentey s6quelosconun pasosuave. Paraprevenirolores,
dejelacajaabiertade sodadehornearadentrodelrefrigerador.Cambiela
cajacadatresmeses.
No lave ninguna parte pl_stica del refrigerador en la lavadora de platos.
NUNCA USE ACIDOS, GASOLINA 0 REMOVEDOR DE PINTURA PARA
LIMPIAR NINGUNA PARTE DE SU REFRIGERADOR. Nunca use agua
hirviendo, que puede desfigurar las partes pl_sticas.
DesconaelaciOn
Descongele cuando la escarcha en la pared del congelador/compartimiento
de fabricante de hielo tiene 1/4" (6 mm) en grosor. Nunca use un instrumento
agudo ni metalico para quitar la escarcha como puede daSar los conductos en
el congelador. Una perforaci6n en este sistema de dclo de enfriamiento no se
puede arreglar y haria la garantia nula. Recomendamos usar un raspador
plastico.
Para descongelar, quitar los alimentos y la bandeja para hielo del
compartimiento del congelador. Est6 seguro que la bandeja para gota esta en
su lugar, y ajuste el termostato a la posici6n OFF. Generalmente descongelar
requiere un poco de horas. Para descongelar mas rapido, mantenga la puerta
abierta y coloque un taz6n de agua tibia en el refrigerador. Despues de
descongelar, vacie el agua de la bandeja de gota.
