Before installing a COAMCT and LDC Orsis advise carrying out an LDC GPRS connection check.
Installation procedure
Take the COAMCT out of the packaging box. The device is fitted with 1m of power cable with a plug and 2m
of CT cable. Ensure that both cables are intact and reliably connected to the device before continuing as
shown in figure 1 below.

Fix the device to an appropriate position before making any electrical connections. Install one screw on the
fixed surface of the intended mounting position and the hang the device on the screw using the rear
mounting hole as shown in Figure 2 above.
Note.
The distance between the installation positions needs to be within 2m of the intended CT connection.
Fix the device to the mounting location using screws located through the front mounting holes as shown in
Figure 1 above.

Install CT
Open the CT fastener, locate around the live cable to be monitored and then cover and compress the fastener
over the cable as shown in figure 4 below. Hang the entire CT on the power cord, it does not need to be
fastened or permanently fixed.
Note
The arrow at the bottom of the CT must be in the direction of the incoming supply i.e. towards the
consumer unit or load. Any error made in the direction of the mounting will result in incorrect data being
recorded.
Figure 4 shows this in detail.
Note
The CT sensor must be installed at a minimum of 30cm from any strong magnetic fields e.g. permanent
magnets, voltage transformer and switch boxes.
Before closing the CT, it is strongly recommended to clean the CT contact faces and wipe off any dust. Failure to
do this may have an impact on the accuracy of the measured data.

Connect the power supply (do not connect the power supply until the CT has been installed correctly) -
connect the power plug directly to a 240V supply ensuring that the neutral and live wires are consistent
with those on the supply otherwise this will result in inaccurate data.
After the above steps have been completed, observe the LED status lights on the front of the device.
These lights will indicate the unit has been installed correctly and is fully functional.

a) Green light flashes twice every 3 seconds indicating the unit is searching for a network
b) Green light flashes twice every 5.5 seconds, one long flash and one short flash indicating
the unit has been conducting registration but has not yet successfully registered
c) Green light flashes twice every 4 seconds with long flashes and means the unit has finished
its initialisation and working normally
d) Green light flashes once every second indicating the unit has not been initialised
e) Red light permanently on indicates has failed to initialise and is not working
ACT: Flashes when data is being transmitted
IMP:Always on for import kWh and always off for export kWh 3200imp/kWh. The flashing of this
light indicates the consumption rate is being monitored. It will flash 3200 times per kWh of
electricity consumption
