General description
Oscar TempLog® is a concept for monitoring and documenting temperature and humidity. The
system consists of a gateway, a number of wireless sensors, and a cloud service that stores and
manages all data. Applications include refrigerators, freezers and any other environments where it is
important to keep track of temperature and/or humidity.
Oscar TempLog® is easy to install, provides accurate measurements and, not least, is very user
friendly.
We offer a lifetime warranty with regard to malfunctions in gateways and sensors.

Before you start
Please read this user manual before installing and using the product.
Installation
Getting started with Oscar TempLog® is easy. Follow the instructions below to get started. If you have
any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@oscartemplog.se or +46 (0)303-23 31 60.
FAQ can be found at www.oscarmedtec.se/faq.
1. Connect the gateway to the internet
Connect the supplied Ethernet cable to your TempLog gateway and to a network socket with
internet access. Then connect the supplied adapter to a standard 230 V power outlet and then to
your gateway. An internet connection is established when the indicator light on the gateway turns
green. Normally this takes a maximum of one minute. If there is no internet contact the indicator
light will show fixed/flashing red. If the light turns blue during installation, this indicates that a
software update is in progress. No action is required as this is handled automatically.
In rare cases, where the network has added protection, network administrator intervention may be
required for the gateway to gain internet access. In this case, please refer to the technical
documentation at www.oscartemplog.se or contact Oscar Medtec. The same is true if you only
have access to a wireless network. In this case you will need an add-on product.
2. Activate the sensors
Our sensors come with two AAA batteries. To activate each sensor, pull off the small plastic tab
found in the battery cover on the back of the sensor. In normal use, the batteries will last 2 to 5
years depending on the battery type. Changing batteries is easy –just open the battery
compartment on the back.
3. Pairing the gateway with the sensors

5Ref. id: 1000390
The sensors and gateway are already paired on delivery. Simply remove the plastic tab in the
battery cover and they will be connected. The sensors are also marked with the names specified on
ordering.
4. Connect any accessories
Accessories are connected via the connector on the short side of the sensor. To activate the
accessory, press the button on the sensor.
5. Position the sensors
In refrigerators and freezers, the sensor should be positioned as centrally as possible. For use in
other spaces, the sensor can be hung on a wall using the hole on the back of the sensor or laid on a
suitable flat surface.
6. Log into the portal at my.oscartemplog.se
Go to my.oscartemplog.se and log in using the email address and password you specified on
ordering. You can then change your password in the portal –we recommend doing this
immediately.

Operation
Managing your data
Once you have logged into my.oscartemplog.se, you will see your sensors with the names you chose
on ordering. All data can be found under the “Data” tab at my.oscartemplog.se. Here you can view all
the temperature and humidity measurements provided by your sensors in graphical and report form,
for any period of time. You can also see any alarms. You can access available data via our app, which
is called Oscar Medtec. Available to download from the App Store, iPhone app, and Google Play,
Android app.
Settings
Manage all your settings in the my.oscartemplog.se portal, under the “Settings” tab. In addition to
registering the gateway and naming your sensors, the most important functions are the ability to add
more users and define alarms.
1. Adding more users
Select “Sharing” from the left-hand menu and enter the email address of the person you want to
add. Select whether the person should see both alarms and data or data only. You can also
choose to allow the new user to see only one group of sensors. In this case, you must first create
a “device group”. This is done from the left-hand menu and the “Device groups” page.

7Ref. id: 1000390
When you have finished, an email is sent to the new user. The user must confirm their identity via
the link in the email and then create their own password.
2. Alter alarm values
Select “Alarms” from the left-hand menu. Then define any number of alarms per sensor. You can
set both the maximum and minimum value and how far the measurement should deviate before
the alarm is triggered. Alarm
notifications are then sent to specified users in an email and/or as notifications from the
smartphone app. Alarms are also sent when a sensor or gateway is offline or when the battery is
low. A device could go offline in the event of a power failure or when the internet is down. In these
cases, the sensors will continue to collect data for up to 72 hours. After the fault has been
corrected, this data will be sent to the portal without any data loss.
3. Change a sensor name
Select “Device list”, where you will see the names and serial numbers of all your sensors and
gateways. You can then change their names and also hide and/or remove sensors. Please note
that names must only use letters in the English alphabet, ASCII.
