immediately and then contact Kogan.com.
•Check that your electric throw blanket is not damaged before switching it on.

activate the overheat safeguard system, thus leaving the electric throw
blanket inoperative.
oMisuse of this electric throw blanket will invalidate your warranty.

neatly but not tightly (or rolled) without sharp bends in the heating elements and
store where no other heavy objects will be placed upon it.

electric throw blanket is used on an adjustable bed, check that the electric throw
blanket and cord do not become trapped or rucked, for example, in hinges.
•The electric throw blanket is not to be used by very young children (0-3 years).
•The electric throw blanket is not to be used by young children over the age of three
unless the controls have been pre-set by a parent or guardian or unless the child
has been adequately instructed on how to operate the controls safely.

effect on the insulation covering of the heating element. Follow washing directions
located on the electric throw blanket’s rating label and in this guide.

SAFETY & WARNINGS

•This electric throw blanket is not to be used in Bed or while Asleep.
•The electric throw blanket must not be used over or under a water bed.
•Depending on the controller type, you may notice a blue flash in the switch when
moving from one setting to another. This is NOT dangerous and is caused by the
copper parts making contact.
•This electric throw blanket is for domestic use only. It is not intended for use in
hospitals or the like.
•Only use the controllers supplied with this electric throw blanket.
•For additional protection, it is strongly recommended that the use of a residual
current device (ROD) with a tripping current not exceeding 30mA be used on the
circuit supplying this product. If you are unsure if your home has this device, please
contact your nearest Electrical Contractor.
•Always treat Electrical Appliances with the upmost care. Do not use this product in
any other fashion or for any other purpose other than stated in these instructions.
Overheat Protection
•The electric throw blanket is fitted with numerous overheat safeguard systems. This
offers protection against overheating or damage to the elements by disengaging
the power to the elements before overheating hazards occur.
•Should there ever be a problem with the heating element in the electric throw
blanket, it will automatically close down the operation and the electric throw
blanket will turn off.
•The controller must not be covered. The controller has built in protection, so that if
the controller overheats or the heating element is damaged, it will automatically
close down the operation permanently.

Connecting the Controller
•Turn off power and remove the plug from power source
•To fit the controller plug, simply hold the socket with one hand and push the
controller plug all the way until it is firmly in place.
•To remove the controller, lift the locking tab up with your finger and pull the plug
directly out. Do not pull the controller cable and do not try and pull the controller
plug out without lifting the locking tab as you will damage the socket.
•Do not fold, roll or kink the cable. Allow the cable to hang freely.
•Ensure the cable is not pulled tight, so that it bends hard at the electric throw
blanket connector end.
Ensure the electric throw blanket is the appropriate size for the bed. The top must not hang
over the edges of the mattress.
SETTING UP

Using Your electric throw blanket
•Read the Safety and Warnings section and set up as outlined in Assembly. Once
you have ensured the electric throw blanket is not folded or creased and the
controller plug is fitted securely, plug it in and switch it on, keeping the controller
away from external heat sources, such as heaters, fireplaces, etc.
•Wrap the electric throw blanket around your body or drape it over your legs. The
electric throw blanket MUST NOT be used under a blanket (as with an ordinary

controller connection is at the bottom and facing on the outside for comfort.
•If using in conjunction with another normal blanket, place the electric throw blanket
on top of the other blanket. The electric throw blanket must always be positioned
on the outside to prevent overheating.
Store it in a dry place when finished.
OPERATION
Important:
Do not cover the controllers at any time.
The Heated Throw must not be used in bed or while sleeping. Turn off and
unplug while not in use.

Using the Controller
Use your electric throw blanket with Detachable Controller only.
Turn controller to the “ON” position on the right-hand side. It will enter standby and display 0
for time and temperature.
Use the Temp and Time buttons to set the temperature and time, or press High to preheat. If
preheating, the display will show H, which will switch to Lafter one hour.
Auto Off
The controller can be programmed with a 1-9 hour automatic shutoff timer.
Electrical Field Effect
When using the electric throw blanket, some people may be susceptible to a tingling
sensation when alone or when touching someone else using the electric throw blanket.
This sensation is caused by the current flowing through the element, creating an
Electromagnetic Field (EMF), and is common among similar products. Some people are
more susceptible to feeling this tingling sensation than others. This is no cause for concern
and is in no way an electric shock.

Ensure all controllers are unplugged from the power point and from the electric throw
blanket before cleaning.

cycle.
•Do not bleach.
•Do not tumble dry.
•Line dry in shade when excess water has been removed.
•Do not peg wired parts.

Spot Cleaning
•The area affected should be sponged gently using a natural wool detergent or mild
soap flakes dissolved in cold water, followed by multiple spongings using clean,
soap-free cold water.
•Lightly compress the treated area between two towels to absorb excess water.
•Refer to the section “Drying” for drying instructions.
•The connections to the electric throw blanket must be kept free of moisture.

Drying
•Spread the electric throw blanket out on a clean surface (e.g. a large table) to dry in
a shady area.

blanket, i.e. hang from the edge of the Throw only.
Note: The electric throw blanket must be thoroughly dried (including controller socket)
before using.
