OPERATION
Pail Mate Systems’ Cordless Pail Pump Sprayer utilizes the popular SHURFLO pump
technology and DeWalt Rechargeable 18volt or 20volt Batteries. It is designed for water-based
products and it has no metals in the path through the pump which utilizes Viton Valves and
Santoprene Diaphragms.
CA TION: NOT for use with Acetone , other solvents or Acids. Not only are some
flammable, many of them will quickly disintegrate the pump valves and
diaphragm and void the product warranty. In addition, some of them are not
compatible with other materials used in the Pail Mate hoses and seals.
1. Attach wand to spray handle and tighten.
2. Set the power switch to the off position
3. Remove the lid from the product pail, place Pail Mate on top and snap lid securely
4. Set the power switch to the on position
5. Pail pump comes with the 20volt slide adapters. If using the older 18 Volt DeWalt®
batteries remove the adapters and make sure that you insert the batteries into the ports
as straight as you can without bending the contacts causing electrical damage to the
pump.
6. If you are using a Pail Cart, place pail in Cart, place pail pump on pail and snap lid onto
the pail.
7. urn on the power switch and start spraying.
he pump is self-priming and will not be damaged by running dry for short periods of time.
Priming time will vary depending on the fluid viscosity, temperature and hose length. he pump
is intended for continuous or intermittent duty when the proper operating criteria are met.
NO E: “Intermittent Duty” is defined as; operated and/or frequently started within a period of
time that would cause the motor to reach its maximum thermal limits. Once the maximum
thermal limit is obtained, a thermal breaker switch will interrupt operation until the motor cools
down to normal operating temperature, then it will automatically reset and resume operation
which may take up to ½ hour.
CA TION: If the thermal protection breaker trips to prevent the motor from
overheating it will reset automatically and the motor will start operating
without warning.
If the breaker does trip, prevent accidental spraying when it resets by either
setting the power switch to off or make sure the spray handle valve is not
propped open or preferably both.
In the rare event of a breaker trip you could place a damp towel over the Pail Mate to prevent
the pump from overheating.
