Operate this product only from the type of power source indicated on the product’s marking label. If you
are not sure of the type of power supplied to your home, consult your dealer or local power company.
It is recommended that the customer install an AC surge protector in the AC outlet to which this device is
connected. This is to avoid damage to the equipment from lightning strikes and other electrical surges.
Wipe the unit with a clean, dry cloth. Never use cleaning fluid or similar chemicals. Do not spray cleaners
directly on the unit or use forced air to remove dust.
Keep the device away from excessive heat and humidity and keep the device free from vibration and dust.
Do not directly cover the device or block the airflow to the device with insulation or any other objects.

PATROLLER OVERVIEW
The NP36 Network Patroller lets you view diagnostics, check uptime and downtime, manage network devices,
perform reboots remotely, more. These features save you both time and money that would otherwise be spent
on service calls.
The front panel of the NP36 displays a pair of blue LEDs. See Table 1 below for more information.

The rear panel is where the physical cabling (power, Ethernet, console) is located. Table 2 describes each port
and its function.

INITIAL PATROLLER SETUP
Tools required:
oPhillips screwdriver (if using rack-mount brackets).
oPC or laptop with Ethernet interface and a web browser (an integrated DB-9 port or USB-to-Serial adapter
or HDMI cable may be necessary if you would like to use the console interface).
oEthernet cable.
Installation
1. Open the box and remove the unit.
2. If mounting the Patroller in a standard 19” A/V rack, attach the rack-mounting brackets to the sides (rack-
mounting brackets are included). If not rack-mounting, ensure that the Patroller is physically mounted
near power and network connections (i.e. backbone switch or firewall/router).
3. Connect power to the device push the power switch on the rear panel. The PWR LED will light up and the
fans will start.
Logging into the Patroller
1. If you are using a Pakedge router that has an internal IP address of 192.168.1.99 (or a router with an IP
scheme of 192.168.1.X) proceed with step 2.
If you are not using the IP scheme of 192.168.1.X on your current network, connect an ethernet cable
from your computer to the Patroller directly. Configure the PC with a static IP address of 192.168.1.10
and subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 .
2. Open a web browser (Mozilla Firefox is prefered). In the browser, enter the Patroller’s default IP address
of 192.168.1.237 into the address bar and press <ENTER>.
3. A web page will appear prompting you for a username and password ( Firgure 1.1). Enter pakedge for
the username and pakedgep for the password. Then click Login to log into the web administration
portal.

Once you are connected you will have the following options:

You will also have the mac address, serial number and firmware version display once you are login in to the
NP36. ( Figure 1.2)

In the LAN setting seciton you have the option to change the IP address subnet and defatul gateway to the

netnwork settings you are currently working on. Click Apply to finalize the settings. ( Figure 1.4)

5. After making the appropriate changes to the LAN settings, we will now move forward to registering the
unit. Please click NP36 Registration
Before Registering the Patroller:
For First time BakPak users Please proceed with the First Time Bakpak Users section.
If you already have a bakpak account that is set up as admin please proceed to the Registering Your
Patroller section.
FIRST TIME BAKPAK USERS
If you are new to Bakpak then you will first need to create your Admin account so that you can register
patrollers as well as create accounts for your technicians. If you have already created an Admin account skip to
Registering Your Patroller section. In order to create an admin account take the following steps:
1. Contact our Sales department. Their contact information is as follow:

Phone: [phone]
You will need to have the email address that you wish to use to create the Admin account ready.
2. Our Sales department will email you a dealer registration code that you will need in order to create your
Admin account.
3. Once you have received the dealer code go to mybakpak.com
4. Click Create a Dealer Admin Account. (Figure 1.5)

5. There will be a message that informs you about the procedure for creating an Admin account. Click OK (

6. Fill out the required information to register for your bakpak account. Be sure to enter the dealer code
you were emailed by the sales dept. Click Register. ( Figure 1.7)
