WhentheAC mainsleadis connectedto a
mainsoutlet,thedoorwillreturntoitsoriginal
position.
lftheVTRis
suddenlymoved
from
acold
place
toa warm
place,
moisturemayformonthetapeandinsidethe
VTR.
In
thiscase,
theDewlndicator
" ! "will
tlashonand
offand
theVTRwillnotoDerate.
Avoid
places
wherethere
is highhumidity
or muchdust,
whichmay
causedamagetointernal
parts.
Theventilation
holes
prevent
abnormalincrease
intemper-
ature.Donotblock
orcovertheseholes.Especially
avoid
coveringthe holes
with soft materials
suchas clothor
oaDer.
Keep
theVTRaway
from
extreme
direct
heat
suchasdirect
sunljght,
heatingradiators,
orclosedautomobiles.
Never
bringa magnetor magnetized
objectneartheVTR
becauseitwill
adverselyaffectthe
performance
oftheVTR.
Touching
internal
parts
ofthisVTRis
dangerous,andmay
cause
seriousdamageto the VTR. Do not attemptto
disassembletheVTR.
Thereareno
userserviceableoarts
inside.
Keepthe
VTRawayfromflower
vases,tubs,
sinks,etc.
CAUTION:lf liquids
are spilledinto the VTR, serious
damage
couldoccur.lf youspjllanyliquidinto
theVTR,
consult
qualif
ied
service
oersonnel.
To avojddamage
by lightning,
disconnectthe aerial
plug
fromtheVTR.
Wipethe
VTRwith
a clean,dry
cloth.
Never
usecleaning
fluid,
orother
chemicals.And
do
not
usecompressed
airto
remove
dust.
PlacetheVTR in a horizontal
position,
anddo not
place
anything
heavyonit.
The videoheads
are the means
by whichthe recorder
placespicture
signalson the tapeduringrecording,and
reads
picture
signals
fromthetape
during
playback.
lfthese
headsbecomedirtyandcloggedfromlonguse,thesignals
can no longer be recordedcorreclly,and the playback
picture
willbe distortedaccordingly.Thisis the case,for
example,duringthe playback
of a tape,the soundis
reproduced
normally,butno
picture
isseen,orthe
picture
is
greatly
distorted.Whensucha symptomcaseoccurs
have
therecorder
checkedby
qualified
service
personnel.
Condensation mayform in the VTRif:
.The VTRis in a roomwhere
the heaterhas
justbeen
turned
on.
.The VTRisinaroomwith
steamorhighhumidity.
.The VTR is broughtfrom cold surroundingsinto a
well-heated
room.
.The VTR is suddenlybroughtfromcool surroundings,
suchasanair-conditioned
roomorcar,to
aDlace
which
is
hotandhumid.
