information, and if you have any further question do not hesitate to contact us.
Misuse might create damage that are not covered by the warranty!
“Freeze” mode in units “out of the box”
IMPORTANT! The Altitron is delivered from the factory in “freeze” mode: battery is installed but in order to
save energy while it’s on the shelf, THE UNIT IS NOT OPERATING! Do not jump your Altitron before waking
it up by pressing a button. If you have just received your Altitron, just press any key to activate it and
configure your preferred settings.
Type selection when replacing the battery
Alkaline battery
Lithium battery
Because of different battery sources now commonly
available, the Altitron needs you to specify which kind of
battery has been installed. This is due because different
technologies have different working voltage, so you need
to specify what’s inside to have accurate information
about the battery lifetime. When you put a battery you
need to choose among Alkaline, Lithium, and
Rechargeable. The Altitron will suggest you what it
“thinks” is being used, but you need to confirm this.
Choose the type of battery you are using changing the
values by pushing UP or DOWN, and confirm by pressing
SELECT. When a battery is new you should generally
confirm just what has been suggested.
You need to confirm the battery type because you might
decide to remove the battery for example in wintertime or
during a long commercial flight, and reinstall the same
battery after that. In this case the battery voltage might
not be the same as new, so the type detection could be
wrong.
Rechargeable battery
A wrong type setting might lead to wrong battery lifetime information. If you make a mistake in selecting the
type of battery in use, you will need to remove it and put it back, selecting again the correct type.
Clock view in stand-by mode
When the Altitron is in standby mode in between
jumps, it’s easier to use it as a watch now with larger
time digits!
Unit information
You can now check the battery voltage after
software version and serial number (see “Unit
information” on the manual).
Air intake
Looking at the Altitron case you will find a small hole on one side: it’s the air intake for the air pressure
sensor. Even if being shielded from humidity and dust, do not introduce anything in it. Electronics inside the
case are protected but the air intakemust not be tampered with as this will void the warranty!

Modalità “Freeze” nelle unità “out of the box”
IMPORTANTE! L’Altitron viene consegnato dal produttore in modalità “freeze”: la batteria è già installata, ma
per risparmiare energia mentre è sugli scaffali, LO STRUMENTO NON E’ OPERATIVO! Non saltare con il
tuo Altitron prima di averlo risvegliato premendo un tasto qualunque. Se hai appena ricevuto il tuo Altitron,
premi un tasto qualunque per attivarlo e configurare le tue impostazioni preferite.
Selezione del tipo alla sostituzione della batteria
Batteria Alcalina
Batteria al Litio
Dato che ormai sono ormai comunemente disponibili
diversi tipi di batteria, l’Altitron ha bisogno che venga
specificato quale viene utilizzata. Questo è dovuto al fatto
che le differenti tecnologie di batterie lavorano con tensioni
sensibilmente diverse, per cui è necessario specificare
quale tipo viene utilizzato per fornire informazioni accurate
sullo stato della batteria. Quando viene inserita una batteria
è necessario scegliere tra Alcalina, Litio, o Ricaricabile.
L’Altitron suggerisce un tipo di batteria, ma è necessario
confermare tale selezione.
Scegli il tipo di batteria premendo I tasti SU e GIU’ e
conferma la tua scelta premendo SELECT. Quando la
batteria è nuova dovresti semplicemente confermare
quanto viene proposto.
E’ necessario confermare che tipo di batteria si usa perché
si potrebbe decidere di rimuoverla ad esempio nel periodo
invernale o in caso di lunghi viaggi in aereo, e riutilizzarla
successivamente. In questo caso la tensione della batteria
potrebbe essere inferiore rispetto ad una nuova, per cui il
riconoscimento del tipo potrebbe essere non corretto.
Batteria Ricaricabile
Un’impostazione sbagliata del tipo può comportare un’informazione sbagliata sullo stato della batteria. Se si
sbaglia ad impostare il tipo è necessario rimuovere la batteria e una volta reinserita nello strumento ripetere
la procedura di selezione.
Visualizzazione dell’ora in modalità “stand-by”
Quando l’Altitron è in modalità “stand-by” tra un
lancio e l’altro, è ancora più semplice utilizzarlo
come orologio grazie alla cifre dell’ora di maggiori
dimensioni!
Informazioni sull’unità
E’ possibile ora controllare la tensione della batteria
dopo la versione del software e il numero di serie
(vedere il Manuale Utente alla voce “Informazioni
sull’unità”).
Ingresso dell’aria
Osservando la cassa dell’Altitron è possibile notare un forellino su uno dei lati: è il foro di ingresso dell’aria
per il sensore di pressione. Anche se protetto dall’ingresso di umidità e polvere, non introdurre nulla
attraverso tale foro. L’elettronica all’interno è protetta ma il foro non deve essere manomesso pena il
decadimento della garanzia!
