2 DESCRIPTION
The LHC and LHM models consist of a recorder module (which, for the LHC model, incorporates a
modem) and a probe (ref. SFP).
As standard, a “whip” type antenna is provided with LHM models.
They are designed for standalone water level and water temperature measurement. Particularly
suitable for drilling hole and piezometer measurement, they can be configured using
the “IHM Capteurs” from PARATRONIC (see : instructions I158F).
3 MODELS AND OPTIONS
SFP probes: These probes are used for level (pressure) and temperature measurement. Several
measurement ranges are available:
SFP 10: measurement range 0 – 10m
SFP 40: measurement range 0 – 40m
SFP 90: measurement range 0 – 90m
SFP 150: measurement range 0 – 150m
The cable length is defined when ordering.

6 INSTALLATION
The LH(C/M) sensor can, depending on the options selected, be supplied with (LHC) or without
(LHM) an antenna, and with or without a mounting bracket (ref. “LH EQUERRE”). For the LHC, the
antenna supplied as standard is a “whip” antenna; as an option, a “pad” antenna can be supplied
(ref. “LH ANTGAL”). Therefore, different mounting and assembly possibilities are available
according to the equipment and options selected.
6.1 PRECAUTIONS FOR INSTALLATION AND USE:
The recorder module (LH(C/M)) and its associated probe (SFP) are measuring instruments.
Therefore, they must be handled with caution and care. All transportation must be carried out in the
original packaging.
Products must not receive shocks and must not be subjected to severe pressure or temperature
variations.
The probe measurement cell is an active and sensitive component. For this reason, the probe must
be set up (submerged) with caution. Pressure must never be exerted on the cell with a tool, and the
cell must never be cleaned with a corrosive substance. In the event of fouling, it is recommended to
simply rinse with water.
The LH(C/M) recorder module makes an atmospheric pressure measurement. The pressure
measuring port is located on the bottom of the module, next to the connector intended for the
sensor. Please ensure that this port is never blocked.
Always respect the temperature and pressure operating limits associated with the model used
(refer to the “SPECIFICATIONS” section).

6.2 CONNECTING THE WHIP ANTENNA TO THE LHC:
Position the whip antenna opposite the metallic connector of the LHC:
Fasten the antenna onto the connector using the ring provided for this purpose:
6.3 INSTALLING THE PAD ANTENNA AND CONNECTING IT TO THE LHC:
The pad antenna should be mounted on a horizontal surface. For this purpose, drill a 15mm
diameter hole in the surface selected.
Insert the antenna cable, without damaging it, into the hole:

Fasten the connector ring to lock the connection and secure the SFP cable hook in the hook of the
LH(C/M):
6.6 INSERTING THE SIM CARD IN THE LHC:
On receipt of the SIM card and before going on-site:
1) Activate the card – depending on the provider, the SIM card needs to be activated (as a general
rule, via the customer account, calling the hotline, or other).
2) Unlock the PIN:
- Insert the SIM card in a phone and unlock the PIN; this will prevent the PIN from being
requested when the LHC is switched on.
- Restart the phone, check that the PIN is not requested.
3) Once on-site:
- Check the signal quality with the phone equipped with the modem SIM card.
- Check that you can connect to the Internet, by opening a Web page, for example (if this does not
work and the signal quality is good, check with your provider that the IP option is enabled).
Unfasten the 4 screws on the top of the LHC using a 3mm hex key:

Slide the 2 parts of the LHC, pulling on the suspension cable, to gain access to the SIM card
holder:
Insert the SIM card into the slot until it is locked in place:
Before closing the LHC again, check the status of the desiccant and replace it if required
(Replacing the desiccant sachet section).
Slide the 2 parts of the LHC to close it again. Take care not to damage the seals. Refasten the 4

6.8 CONNECTING THE LH(C/M) VIA USB:
Unfasten the protective cap on the USB connector of the LH(C/M):
Connect a USB cable with a micro-USB connector to the LH(C/M):
Refer to the “IHM_Capteurs” software manual (I158F) for the connection and configuration
procedure.
6.9 REPLACING THE DESICCANT SACHET (SILICA GEL TO PROTECT AGAINST MOISTURE):
When the ochre granules in the silica gel sachet attached to the LH(C/M) turn red, replace them
with a replacement sachet provided after removing it from its protective wrapper:
Desiccant sachets can be reactivated by oven-drying for 4 hours at 120°C. The granules should
turn back to an ochre colour.
Warning: Previously used sachets can be reused after they have been oven-dried.

6.10 MOUNTING THE LH(C/M) ON-SITE:
The LH(C/M) can be fitted in the drilling hole in three ways:
- Directly into the drilling hole tube if the dimensions of the tube allow it (50mm < diameter <
75mm).
The body of the LH(C/M) (diam. 50mm) is then inserted into the drilling hole. The LH(C/M) head
(diam. 79mm) then rests on the edge of the tube.
- Suspended on the suspension cable supplied as standard.
- Using the bracket (option ref.: “LH_EQUERRE”).
The LH_EQUERRE is then mounted according to the
option chosen:
Directly inserted onto the rim of
the tube and fastened by
the “screw-handle” provided for
this purpose.
Along a wall using screws or
bolts through two holes provided
for this purpose.
