The following manual is a comprehensive guide, which explains the following:
-How to install the desktop application
-How to unlock the ASTM capabilities of the SafeAir Phantom/ Mavic
-How to pair and use the remote control
The desktop application is a software installed, which allows to sync, update and configure the
SafeAir device parachute systems. Its current main features are:
-Pair the SafeAir device with the remote control
-Firmware update. Please check our website regularly for software updates and the
current firmware/ configuration version (SafeAir Phantom versions, SafeAir Mavic
versions).
-Data sync for post flight analysis
Installation of the desktop application
Windows OS –Installation Steps (Windows 7, 8, 10 (64-bit)):
1. Install Java JRE (64 Bit) –> Restart Your Computer
2. Install ParaZero Desktop Application (v1.1.1) for Windows
Mac OS –Installation Steps (MacOS High Sierra or higher):
1. Install Java JRE (64 Bit)
2. Install Java JDK (64 Bit) –Choose “Mac OS X x64” from the first table
3. Install ParaZero Desktop Application (v1.1.1) for Mac

Using the desktop application:
1. After the software installation, turn your SafeAir device ON using the toggle switch on
its side. After about 20 seconds, its initiation sequence will end and the LED will turn
blue. Connect it to the computer using the provided USB-C cable.
2. When your computer has finished installing the SafeAir device, restart the computer.
3. Open the desktop application, make sure the SafeAir device is on and connected to the
computer. The application should show the following message:

5. The app will sync the device data and check for new versions. This could take some time
please leave your device connected for a few minutes and update your device if
prompted to do so:

configuration):

7. Click ‘Update now’, a progress bar will show:
8. When your device is up-to-date, it will show on the application:
Important note: if your firmware version and configuration version are the latest as
presented on the website, you may ignore any error message regarding update.

9. Connect the Professional Kit to the SafeAir device, connect the receiver to the
Professional Kit and have the remote control ready –charge it at least one hour and
connect it antenna - don’t turn it on yet.
The small LED on the receiver will turn red, because the remote control is still off.
10. Type the serial number of your SafeAir device on the “Unlock ASTM Package” section on
the lower right section of the screen. You may find the serial number on the side of the
SafeAir device, it starts with PRZ-ASSY007 REV.03SF and followed by 8 digits:

11. Make sure you type the correct serial number, as entered on the ASTM registration
form, which corresponds to SafeAir ASTM Compliance Documentation. If any
inconsistency exists the following message will appear. Please contact ParaZero support
[email protected].
12. After you have unlocked the ASTM package, the “Remote Control Operations” box will
appear on the upper right corner of the screen:

13. Check the “Trigger channel” box:
14. Press the “Apply” button, the system will restart:
15. After the SafeAir device is restarted, its LED will appear as flashing yellow. This means
that it is now waiting for the remote control, but the channel is not active. Turn the
remote control on. The remote control LED should turn green, as well as the receiver
LED. The SafeAir device LED should turn blue.
16. The system is properly configured. The SafeAir device may now be also triggered
manually by the RC signal. In order the manually trigger the system, press and hold the
RC Trigger switch until the LED turns red accompanied by three beeps. The RC keeps
sending a trigger signal for 3 seconds after the release of the Trigger switch.

Software installation FAQs
Q. While trying to install the application, I get the following Java related error message:
“Oracle Java v1.8 does not found in the system. Java 1.8 is required to run this
application. Do you want to continue?”
A. The installer runs regardless of the error message - minimize the Java error message, the
installer should wait in the background and you may resume installation. Another option
is to click on the ParaZero icon on the taskbar, it's a dark grey parachute, to resume the
installation.
Q. When connecting the SafeAir device to the computer, it is not recognized by the
computer.
A. If you get the following message:
Try the following solutions:
- Turn the device on before connecting it - move the toggle switch on the side to
the ON position. Wait till the computer has finished installing the device.
- If the previous step didn’t solve the issue, repeat it after you restarted the
computer.
- Change to another USB port.
- Use the provided USB-C cable.

Q. How do I know whether the SafeAir device is charged?
A. When you turn the SafeAir device ON, by the toggle switch, you may notice the LED
initiation sequence. If the LED’s first color appears as green, the battery is charged
for at least 3-4 flights. In addition, when you connect the SafeAir device, while it’s
on, to your computer and open the ParaZero desktop application, the software will
show the battery status:
Q. Some sections on the desktop application are not responsive.
A. Currently the DASHBOARD tab and the FW Update section are functional. The rest are
future features.
