5Open the six screws connecting the power cables (each
connects two power cables for two engine controllers),
spread in a hexagon shape. Then move the cables to
the sides
6Place the TerminateAir above the screw holes
7Make sure the board is aligned with the buzzer and two yellow connectors before
proceeding with the installation.

10
8Insert the 12 power cable terminals onto the 12 screws on
the TerminateAir board. Do not open the screws. Each
terminal has its own screw. Make sure you connect it to
the right screw, as shown in the figure below. Pay special
attention to the marking on the board, indicating the
GND and VOUT and connect accordingly: Red wire to
the VOUT (+), and black wire to the GND (-).
Failing to do so, may create a short circuit in the power supply and damage the drone.
9Secure each terminal with a M3 nylock (8).
10 Connect the TerminateAir to the body of the drone, by
inserting the six provided screws (10) and washers
included in the package. Make sure to apply Loctite (11)

Operating Guidelines
8.1 Preflight
Initial Conditions: The safety pin is in.
Finalize all the preflight procedures to your drone and payload. The following tasks are in
addition to the regular preflight tasks –
Turn off the power to the drone
Ensure that the thumb screws, TerminateAir’s screws and the mounting legs screws are
firmly closed
Make sure that the parachute cable and the TerminateAir cable are properly connected
to the SmartAir
Carefully remove the safety pin, then turn on the RC (optional). At the end of the
initialization process, the SmartAir LED should be BLUE and the RC LED should be green.
Turn on the power to the drone
Go back to a safety distance of at least 5 meters
8.2 Takeoff
When climbing, you must climb to approximately 7 meters before the system is armed.
Climb until you hear a single long beep, and the LED is GREEN.
The system is now armed and ready for activation in case of an emergency.
8.3 Before Landing
When approaching landing, and the drone slowly while keeping it level. Three seconds after
the rotors are stopped on the ground, the parachute system automatically disarms. At that
point, a long double-beep is heard and the LED is BLUE.
8.4 After Landing
Place the safety pin inside the canister and turn off the RC (optional).
Warning
Do not move the drone or system while the system is armed (green LED). An angle breach
may cause the system to deploy. The parachute and cover will be projected at high speed
and may cause injuries. Inserting the safety pin all the way in will prevent this risk.
Caution
Rough maneuvers in close proximity to the ground might result in parachute deployment.

20
9
Deployment
9.1 General
The SafeAir M-600 Pro includes an Autonomous Triggering System (ATS) that identifies most of
the known critical failures and triggers the system autonomously. Should an emergency
situation occur, the system deploys the parachute, stops the rotors and reduces impact
energy upon landing.
In addition to the ATS, the SafeAir system may also be triggered manually by the RC signal
(optional). In order to manually trigger the system, press and hold the RC Trigger switch until
the RC LED turns solid red accompanied by 3 short repeating beeps. The RC keeps sending a
trigger signal for 3 seconds after the release of the Trigger switch.
The system can only deploy when it is in Armed mode (green LED). Following a deployment,
the LED turns red. Insert the safety pin all the way in to turn off the system.
9.2 Repacking the parachute
Inspect the parachute and make sure there is no damage to the parachute, lines or the
main parachute strap. Inspect the canister, SmartAir, connectors and the TerminateAir to
make sure that there is no apparent damage.
You will require all system components (except the TerminateAir), including a new pyro
actuator for the repack process. Before you start, disconnect the FTS and parachute cables
from the SmartAir and insert the safety pin is all the way in. Disconnect the bridles from both
carabiners and secure the latter. Make sure you have found the yellow cap and the red base
after the deployment and place all components on a clean dry surface large enough for the
parachute.
The repack itself necessitates the parachute and a simple rubber band:
1Place the parachute on the surface to make sure that the
lines do not cross each other or are entangled and that
they are in the same length, especially the center line. This
will require the upper part of the parachute to be folded
as seen in the drawing below.
2The parachute has 7 cells, fold all of them in half so that
all the lines come out of the same place.
3Divide the cells so there are 3 on one side of the lines and
4 in the other side.
