1.0 INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing Parkmate's RVK-43SW Reverse Camera Kit. We are certain that our product will
give you trouble-free operation while providing you with a safety feature that enhances your driving experience.
Our products, like most after-market safety enhanced devices, are designed to assist and aid the driver, not to
replace the manual function of the person operating the vehicle.

Parkmate's RVK-43SW Reverse Camera Kit is designed as a driver assistance device. Although this is a visual
aid and will allow you to view what is behind the vehicle, it does not remove the responsibility of driving the
vehicle from the driver. The legal responsibility and safe driving practice remains with the driver at all times. You
have purchased this product with the understanding that its use is as an aid only.

2.0 GETTING STARTED
2.1 CHARGING THE REAR CAMERA BUILT-IN BATTERY
The included rear camera and solar panel will need to be charged before being installed onto your vehicle.
1. Connect the included USB cable to the Micro USB port of the solar battery unit.
2. Plug the USB cable into any standard USB charger with an output rating of 1A or higher.
3. Charge for 3 to 4 hours.
4. Charging Indicator will be red when charging commences and will turn green when charging is complete.
NOTE:
• In normal use, the camera pack will remain charged while exposed to sunlight. When the backup camera
is working, a battery status indicator will appear on the monitor. If the vehicle is parked in your garage
for more than a month, or the camera is not regularly exposed to the sun, you may need to re-charge it
through the micro USB charging port before using.

ATTENTION:
1. If the vehicle is parked for more than 2 months, turn off the solar battery unit switch to disable the camera
and prevent the battery from discharging. (Refer to image on next page).
2. If you use a power bank or a jump starter to charge the device, make sure that its battery capacity is no
less than 4000mAH.
2.2 TESTING THE SYSTEM
To ensure that all components are working properly, please test
the system before connecting the components to the vehicle.
1. When the monitor is powered ON, the Wake Up light will
indicate that the monitor is on and ready to work.
2. Turn ON the solar battery unit switch of the rear camera.
This switch is only used for storage purposes in order to
prevent a deep discharge of the battery. When the rear
camera is installed on the number plate there is no access to the power switch as it is obscured by the
licence plate.
NOTE: The switch is protected by a rubber cover. It is a slide-switch (not a button or rocker switch).
3. Adjust the camera angle by loosening the two screws and adjust the camera angle to the desired position.
Check the angle of the camera by holding the camera to the planned mounting spot on the licence plate.
4. Tighten the screws again when nished.
NOTE:
• By default, the monitor will stop displaying images and enter standby mode after 60 seconds.
Display time can be changed by referring to section "Monitor Operation" on page 12.

• Please ensure the rear camera is fully charged before rst time use. Please refer to section "Charging the
Rear Camera Built-In Battery" on page 7.
3.0 INSTALLATION
1. Remove the licence plate from your vehicle. Please do not throw away the original screws as they are
required to mount the bracket for this wireless backup camera.
2. Remove the 3M adhesive stickers from
the camera bracket.
3. Depending on your vehicle's licence
plate shape or type of plate mounting
bracket, either mount the wireless
rear camera and solar panel onto
the upperside or the underside of
the licence plate. Once aligned and
attached wait at least 20 minutes for
the adhesive to set.
4. Re-attach the licence plate to the
vehicle with original screws and tighten.

3.1 MOUNTING THE MONITOR
When choosing a location to mount the monitor, make sure the monitor is in an area that will not obstruct your
vision while driving.
1. Before mounting the monitor, clean the mounting surface well.
2. Position the suction mount to a smooth surface that suits your requirement.
3. Press the suction cap against the smooth surface and press the lock down to attach and x the mount to the
surface.
4. Snap in the monitor to the suction mount.
5. Adjust the mounting arms to suit your viewing angle of the monitor and tighten the screws on the mount to
x the position.
6. Connect the power cable to the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket 12V/24V power outlet. The cable must not
interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle.
7. Insert the small 12V/24V DC plug of the power cable into the right side of the monitor.
8. Plug the 12V/24V cigarette lighter plug into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter socket.
To maximize the effectiveness of the suction mount, it is recommended that the application be performed under
the following conditions:
• Surface temperature should be between 21 and 38 degrees Celsius.
• Application below 10 degrees should be avoided.
• Application should not occur in direct sunlight.
Mounting should be protected from exposure to direct sunlight for a period of 24 hours.

NOTE:
• Before mounting the monitor, test the reception of the camera signal in several selected locations within
easy reach as one may have better reception than another. Finally, choose the best location with the best
signal reception.
1. Clean and dry the mounting surface before xing the suction cup bracket.
2. Press the suction cup bracket against the mounting surface and push the suction cup lock lever down to lock
the suction cup.
3. Slide the monitor into the bracket. The angle of the monitor can be adjusted by loosening or tightening the
rotary knob.
4. Insert the monitor car charger into the 12/24V DC power supply.
NOTE:
1. For a decent and neat installation, you can hide the charging cable into the decorative seam around the
edge of the dashboard, and if necessary, bundle the additional wires with a cable tie.
2. If the 12/24V DC power port on your vehicle is always running, be sure to unplug the car charger before
leaving the vehicle to avoid the car battery draining out.
4.0 OPERATION
Please always pair the monitor and camera before the 1st operation (see below). A Maximum of 2 cameras can
be paired to the monitor.
• Before the rst operation, it is highly recommended to use the supplied micro-USB cable to fully charge
the internal battery of the rear camera (please charge for at least 5 hours with a mobile phone adapter,
computer USB port or a USB-powerbank).

• Please ensure the rear camera is fully charged before rst time use. Please refer to section "Charging the
Rear Camera Built-In Battery" on page 7.
• Make sure the slide switch on the back of the camera unit is switched to the ON position.
• The camera is powered by an internal battery, that can be charged by the solar cells. Idealy it should not be
necessary to charge the camera battery after initial installation. Nevertheless, please regularly monitor the
battery icon on the screen and charge the battery if needed.
NOTE:
• If your car is parked without sunlight for a long period of time or the internal battery is empty for another
reason, the rear camera will need to be recharged again using the micro USB cable.
4.1 MONITOR OPERATION
When your cars ignition is ON, the Monitor's Wake Up button will ash blue for a few seconds before turning to a
constant blue colour. The screen will display a mirror image of the rear camera. The screen will remain on for 60
Seconds (Default), the timer can be changed in the menu settings. Please refer to section "Time Out Selection:"
on page 17
While driving the monitor can be turned ON by pressing wake up button. The reverse image will display
automatically and last for the default setting of 60 Seconds.

4.2 MENU ITEMS
1. Press the MENU Button to enter the menu Interface.
2. Use the UP/DOWN Button to select the desired menu.
3. Press the POWER/OK Button to enter the selected menu option.
A. Hand Icon: Indicates which Menu item is currently selected.
B. Battery: Shows battery level of inbuilt rear camera.
C. Signal Strength: Shows Wireless Camera Signal strength.
D. Camera Channel: Displays which camera is currently selected (Maximum of 2 Cameras connected)
Option 1: Default camera
Option 2: Second camera, if the monitor is synced with a second camera.

• Second camera is not provided.

4.3 BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST & COLOUR DISPLAY
Please enter the Main Menu and then enter Menu settings by pressing the MENU Button
Please select desired Brightness, Contrast or Colour display.
4.3.1 BRIGHTNESS SELECTION:
1. Press the POWER/OK Button to enter Brightness control.
2. Press UP/DOWN Button to increase or decrease the Brightness.
3. Press the MENU Button to enter the previous menu or press the MENU Button 3 times to return to the
Main Menu.
4.3.2 CONTRAST SELECTION:
1. Press POWER/OK Button to enter Contrast Control.
2. Press UP/DOWN Button to increase or decrease the Contrast.
3. Press the MENU Button to enter the previous menu or press the MENU Button 3 times to return to the
Main Menu.

4.3.3 COLOUR SELECTION:
1. Press POWER/OK Button to enter Colour settings.
2. Press UP/DOWN Button to increase or decrease colour.
3. Press the MENU Button to enter the previous menu or press the MENU Button 3 times to return to the
Main Menu.
4.4 MIRROR / ROTATE CAMERA IMAGE:
1. Please enter Main Menu and select Icon.
2. Press the POWER/OK Button to enter Mirror / Rotate Image screen.
3. Select Camera by using the UP/DOWN Button and then press POWER/OK Button to enter selection.
4. Press the POWER/OK Button to rotate image 90° Degrees. There will be an icon on the top right corner
image to show the image has been rotated (shown below).
5. Press the MENU Button to enter the previous menu or press the MENU Button 3 times to return to the
Main Menu.
NOTE:
The default display image is set with Mirror Image on. It is suggested to use default Mirror Image if the camera
is used for reversing to avoid mishaps and accidents.

4.5 PAIRING,TIME OUT & SPLIT SCREEN DISPLAY
Please enter the Main Menu and then enter into Menu settings by pressing the MENU Button
Please select either Pairing, Time Out or Split Screen setup by pressing the UP/DOWN Button.
4.5.1 PAIRING SELECTION
1. Press the UP/DOWN Button to select Pair and then press the POWER/OK Button to enter Pairing Selection.
2. Select Camera by using the UP/DOWN Button and then press POWER/OK Button to select the camera to
be paired with.
3. Pairing will start and the monitor will indicate that it is pairing, the monitor will turned OFF after Pairing is
complete.
4. Press the MENU Button to enter the previous menu or press the MENU Button 3 times to the return to
Main Menu.
NOTE:
• The Provided RVK-43SW Camera is paired with the monitor by Default.

4.5.2 TIME OUT SELECTION:
1. Press the UP/DOWN Button to Select Time Out and then press POWER/OK Button to enter the Time Out
Settings. Time Out is the duration of when the Monitor Screen stays powered on.
2. Select Options are 30 Sec / 45 Sec and 60 Sec. Press the UP/DOWN Key to select Screen On time and
then press the POWER/OK Button to select.
3. Press the MENU Button to enter the previous menu or press the MENU Button 3 times to return to the
Main Menu.
4.5.3 SPLITSCREEN SELECTION:
1. Press the UP/DOWN Button to select Split Screen, then press the POWER/OK Button to enter the Split
screen menu.
2. Press the UP/DOWN Button to select either vertical or horizontal split screen display.
NOTE:
• Split Screen only works when you have 2 cameras connected with the monitor.

4.6 TURNING GUIDELINES ON/OFF:
Guidelines gives you a visual aid to see the distance of objects
behind your car.
To turn ON/OFF Guidelines, long press the Wake Up Button
for 5 seconds.
NOTE:
• Guidelines is ON by default.
• To power OFF - Long Press POWER/OK Button to power OFF the monitor. The Monitor will not turn ON
when ignition is turned ON but will turn On if the Wake up button is pressed.
