Important Safety Warnings
Your safety is important. Please read these instrucons carefully before installing or using this appliance.
•Inflammable materials or products should not be placed onthis appliance at any me.
•Installaon ofthe appliance and its connecon to the electrical mains must only be carried out by a QUALIFIED
PERSONNEL. Before any procedure, it is important to check that the appliance is DISCONNECTED from the electrical
mains.
•Do not aempt to modify the characteriscs ofthis product to avoid personal injuries, damages or void the warranty.
•Aer removing the appliance from the packaging, make sure that it is undamaged and that the electrical lead is in
perfect condion. Otherwise, contact your dealer before pung the appliance into operaon.
•This appliance should be connected to a circuit incorporang an isolang switch which provides full disconnecon from
the mains power supply.
•To prevent electric shock hazard, please ensure the appliance is disconnected from the main electricity supply before
caring out any work or maintenance.
•Connecon to a good earth wiring system is essenal and mandatory.
•Failure to install the appliance correctly will invalidatethe warranty and any other liability claims.
•This product is designed for domesc and non-professional use purposes. It should not be used for any other purpose.
•Aer using the appliance, make sure that all controls are in the “0” posion.
•Do not use the hob if it is broken or cracked, to avoid the possibility of electric shock orother hazards.
•This appliance complies with the electromagnec safety standards.
•During use, accessible parts ofthe hob will become hot; to prevent burns, do not touch the hob during use or
immediately aer unl the surface is cooled down.
•Do not place empty pans or leave kitchen utensils onthe hob asthey can become hot very quickly.
•This appliance must only be used by adults. Make sure that children do not touch the controls or play with the
appliance.
•Do not allow children to play, sit, stand or climb onthe appliance.
•This appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilies, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instrucons regarding the
use ofthe appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
•The exposed parts ofthis appliance heat up during cooking and remain hot for some me even aer it is switched off.
Keep children well away unl the appliance has cooled down.
•Keep the appliance thoroughly cleaned. Food residues may cause fire risks.
•Do not use a steam cleaner to clean your electric cooktop.
•Do not leave the appliance unaended when in use. Boilover or greasy spillovers may cause fire.
•Do not use the appliance for warming or heang the room.
•If malfuncons occur do not aempt to repair the appliance yourself. First refer to the troubleshoong secon ofthis
manual. If you do not find the necessary informaon, contact a service agent orthe Parmco's Service Department.
Servicing work onthis appliance must be carried out by a qualified technician only. Always request the use oforiginal
spare parts.
•Do not use your electric hob by the means of an external merorasan remote-control system.
•Appliances which are no longer used or usable are not worthless waste. Through environmentally friendly disposal, a
number of materials used in the producon of your appliance can be recovered.
•Find out about the current disposal opons from your local city council.
•Before scrapping the appliances, cut the power supply lead and make it unusable.

Before using your Hob
oUse pans with flat booms. Uneven orthin booms will waste energy and are slow to cook.
oUse pans slightly larger than the hotplates. Smaller pans will waste energy.
oDo not use oversized pans. More than 50mm overhang can overheat cooktop components and can cause fine cracks in
the enamel hob which will trap dirt.
oUse only dry utensils. Do not place wet or steamy parts (eg. lids) onthe hotplates. Do not use potsand pans that are
unsteady and likely to rock or overbalance.
oDo not operatethe cooktop without pans onthe hotplate.
oDo not use cookware with jagged edges ora curved base.

Using your Hob
Operaon of the electricplates
The electric plates can be standard or rapid type. The rapid type plates are disnguished by a red mark at the centre. According
to your needs, the heat ofthe plates can be adjusted by turning the knobs either clockwise oran-clockwise, to any of the 6
positons besides “0” (OFF).
•Rapid type elements (marked by a red dot)
oThis hob has one rapid heat element that is of a higher waage, thermostacally controlled.
oThis element is designed specifically to rapidly heat food/liquid before transferring to other elements or for use with
cooking applicaons that require short term high heat.
oOnce the selected heang level is reached, the element will cycle to maintain the heang level.
oFor cooking applicaons that require prolonged cooking/boiling/simmering, please use the other elements.
To start cooking:
Place a suitable pan onthe cooking zone you want to use.
Adjust the power seng using the control knob ofthe corresponding cooking area to the desired heang level.
(1 indicates the lowest heat seng and 6 is the highest heat seng)
When you have finished cooking, turn the control knob to the "0" posion to turn offthe cooktop.
The posions marked by numbers correspond to the maximum output of heat.
The power indicator light shows that the electric plates are switched on.
Advice on the use of cooking tops
oTo save energy and to extend the life ofthe electric cooktop, we advise using pans with flat boom and with a diameter
not lesser than the diameter of the heang plates. Make sure the base of your pan is smoothand sits flat against the
surface.
oAlways centre your pan onthe cooking zone.
oAlways li the pots offthe electric cooktop to prevent scratching the surface.
oCare must be taken that fluids do not spill onthe electric plates.
oNever leave the elements on without pans onthem or with empty pans, and never use the tops to heat the room.
Switch onthe plates aer having set the pans onthem.
oSwitch offthe heang element before removing the pans.
oOnce switched off,the plates remain warm for a while.

oSwitch offthe mains to the cooktop before carrying out any work and wait for it to cool down.
oWe advise using lukewarm water and detergents to clean enameled tops and dry using a so cloth.
oDo not use abrasive products to prevent scratching the surface and removing graphics.
oDo not use a steam cleaner to clean the hob.
oTurn the element on briefly to ensure it is totally dry.
oWhen using sponges or a moist cloth to clean the tops, remember that excess water can damage the electric elements.
oClean hard stains using non-abrasive detergents, special products that can be found in the supermarkets.
oAer the element has been cleaned and dried, apply solid hotplate protector (available in the supermarkets) ora light
coat of cooking oil to the element.
Important Noce
•Aer use, a discolouraon of the stainless steel hot plate rims is to be expected and cannot be avoided. This does not
affect the operaon of the cooktop.
•Failure to correctly clean and maintain these elements may result in rusng and ping of the elements. Damage to
the elements caused by incorrect maintenance is not covered under warranty.

Installaon
This appliance must only be installed only an authorised personnel and in accordance with the current New Zealand building
and installaon standards.
All laminates, fixing adhesive and surfacing materials should be cerfied suitable for installaon of this appliance.
Selecon of installaon equipment
oCut out the work surface according to the sizes shown in the drawing.
oFor the purpose of installaon and use, a minimum of 50mm space shall be preserved around the hole.
oBe sure the thickness of the work surface is at least 40-50mm. Please select heat-resistant work surface material to avoid
deformaons caused by the heat radiaon from the hotplate.
oWhen installing the hob over drawers, a board must be installed 10-15mm underneath the hob. The board must be made of
suitable heat resistant materials.
oLeave at least 50mm clearance between the underside of the hob and any combusble surface.
Note: no overhead venlaon system is to be installed within 650mm from the top of the hob.
