ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
SPACE SAVER STAIRCASE
MODEL 923544
Thank you for counting on Metron Value to meet your
physical therapy needs by purchasing this equipment.
All Metron Value equipment is designed and manufactured
to provide years of dependable service because we want
you as a customer now and in the future. Below are easy to
follow instructions on how to properly assemble your
equipment. Please contact us if you experience any
difficulty with the assembly or have questions.
INTENDED USE
Metron Value Space Saver Staircase, model 923544 is
specifically designed and engineered for physical therapy,
for use by a single person at a time, who is attended and
observed by trained medical/physical therapy personnel. Never
leave anyone on the staircase unattended. Person’s weight
and the combination of force exerted on the staircase during
treatment is not to exceed a total of 500 lbs.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS FOR METRON VALUE SPACE SAVER STAIRCASE

Using two persons, position the left top rail on
the bolts and secure the front upright with the
two washers and nuts that were just removed
(do not tighten all the way). Insert two (2)

carriage
bolts one below the two previously fastened bolts and one
above the two previously fastened bolts from the inside
through the platform section and the uprights and secure
with washers and washer nuts. Secure the rear upright with
two (2)

1/4
"
carriage bolts, two (2) 1" washers and two (2)
washer nuts. Tighten all six (6) nuts until secure.
Lay the platform section on its side on a soft,
non abrasive surface with the left side up.
Remove the two nuts and washers from the
bolts on the side of the platform section.

Position the center top rail between the left and
right top rails and secure with four (4)

Phillips head bolts, four (4) 3/4
" washers
and four
(4) nylok nuts.
Lay step section on its side on a soft, non
abrasive surface. Remove the two (2) nuts and
washers from the bolts on the side of the step
section.
Stand the step section upright and attach the
other upright and wooden rail in the same
manner as steps 5 & 6.
With the platform section upright, install the
right top rail and attached uprights in the same
manner as steps 1 & 2.
ASSEMBLE THE UNIT FOR USE
Position step section with the top step toward
the open end of the platform section. Swing
rails up to meet metal bracket on middle upright. Insert the
bolts through the wooden downrails and the metal bracket
and secure with washers and wing nuts. Tighten wing nuts
down to secure the rails.

6Using two persons, position the steel rail on the
bolts (be sure the angled end of the wooden rail
faces toward the top step of the step section)
and secure with the two (2) washers and nuts that were just
removed from the step section.

Remove wing nuts washers and bolts from the
top of the wooden downrails. Swing wooden
downrails down. Store bolts, washers and wing
nuts in a secure location where they won't get lost.
Push step section into platform section until
middle and step uprights come together.
PREPARING THE UNIT FOR STORAGE
Pull pins from both sides of the platform section.
The manufacturer warrants products to be free of defects in materials, workmanship or design under normal use for five years
on all mechanical products and all electrical components from the date of purchase. This warranty does not include damage
resulting from accident, abuse or misuse, alteration, or negligence of the product and expressly excludes normal wear of parts
(including but not limited to vinyl). Contact Patterson Medical for full warranty details.

Metron Value products are built to be durable. With proper care, your Metron Value equipment will provide years
of superior looks and performance.
Clean the equipment with a soft cloth and any mild cleaning agent that may be required for sanitation. NEVER use abrasive
scrubbing agents that may scratch the surfaces. Before using any cleaning agents, try them on a small
inconspicuous area to insure that they will not harm the any surface. Damage from cleaning is not
covered under the warranty. Do not use alcohol based cleaning agents.
Periodically check that all fasteners are secure and operating properly.

9Insert the pin through the metal bracket and
into the platform section on both sides of the
platform section.
FOR SAFETY PURPOSES, TAKE TIME TO CHECK ALL SCREWS,
BOLTS AND NUTS TO INSURE THAT THEY ARE SECURELY
TIGHTENED AND THAT THE UNIT HAS BEEN PROPERLY
ASSEMBLED ACCORDING TO THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
