Introduction:
The PD251-002 DVD module has hit end of life and has been replaced with PD251-043 DVD module. This
Technical Bulletin explains the step-by-step instructions for field replacement of the PD251-002 DVD module to
PD251-043 DVD module.
NOTES:
Replacement of the DVD module will only work for P-Series TVs with a manufacture date of 2013
or later.
PD251-043 DVD module can only be used in the side load position.
The side cover of the P-Series TV will not be able to be installed when using the new PD251-043
DVD module.
The existing remote control, PD108-427 will work with the PD251-043. The PD251-043 comes
with a new remote control.
Tools:
Only three tools are required to replace the DVD module, a small Phillips head screwdriver, a dremel tool, and a
file.
Procedure:
1. Unplug the P-Series TV power cord from the wall outlet.
2. Remove back cover from the P-Series TV by pressing in the snaps and sliding off.
3. Remove the 44 pin to 15 pin DVD cable from the module. Keep cable to be re-used with the PD251-043
DVD module.
4. Unscrew the PDISEMSM3X55 screw that holds the DVD module in place. Keep this screw for
installation of the new DVD module.
5. Discard the PD251-002 DVD module.
6. Looking at the back of the P-Series TV, cut a 0.25” section of the left hand side rib for placement of the
new PD251-043 DVD module using the dremel tool. File any burrs if necessary. This allows the DVD
player to fit so the retaining screw to be installed with the new player.

7. Remove the new PD251-043 DVD module from the box and plastic wrap. Side into place on the P-
Series TV. Verify that the rails of the DVD module are in proper location to the mounting ribs on the TV.
8. Re-install the 44 pin to 15 pin DVD cable to the module.
9. Install the PDISEMSM3X55 screw to hold the DVD player in place.
NOTE: Retaining screw must be installed to avoid the player from falling.
10. Plug in the P-Series TV power cord into the wall outlet. Verify the functionality of the TV and new
PD251-043 DVD module.
