Recommended Antenna
2.4 GHz Omni Directional Antenna
* 5 dBi dipole antenna for 1.5 Km LOS
* 9 dbi Omni directional antenna for up to 6 Km
Coax Cable
•LMR 240 Series with N-Male Connector on both ends. Max
length 10 feet (3 meters) with antenna type listed above.
•LMR 400 Series with N-Male Connectors on both ends. Max
Length 20 feet (6 meters)
Notes:
1.
For external antenna with coax cable it is highly
recommended to use in line surge arrestor between the
gateway and the omni antenna.
2. For longer cable length antenna with higher gain must be
selected. Call factory for details.
Operating Range
(Clear Line of Sight)
•
1500 meters with Dipole antenna
•6 Km with 8 dBi Omni Antenna
Operating Temperature
-40º F to +185º F (-40º C to +85º C)

2.0 Installation
See Figure 1 & 2 for installation and wiring diagram.
Pole mount bracket for the antenna is provided. Antenna
must be installed at a height so it is in good line of sight with
all the wireless detectors or gateways in the field as well as
with main control panel.
Mount 800 Repeater enclosure using 2 each mounting holes.
If a dipole antenna is used simply install the antenna with
N-Male connector onto the N-Female connector on top of the
repeater junction box. See Figure 2
For installation using Omni antenna for extended range refer
to figure 1. Use the coax cable specified in the previous
section (Specifications).
Do not use unnecessary long coax cable as this may
result in loss of signal within the coax cable. Also use the
surge arrestor to protect the Radio Transceiver from high
static voltage. Be sure to connect the surge arrestor Ground
lug to earth ground for grounding.
Connect the antenna via Coax Cable as shown in Figure 1.
Secure the cable along the pole in order to avoid the
movement of cable. Constant movement of the cable may
loosen the connector.

If the repeater is installed permanently then proper
insulation / weather stripping tape must be installed onto
the coax connection both at the antenna and at the Repeater
end to protect against harsh environmental conditions.
Select the Zone via Blue Rotary switch on the front Panel.
Connect 12 VDC power. Check the polarity before applying
the power.
Caution
Check the polarity of 12 VDC Power Input. Reverse
polarity may cause permanent damage to the RF module
and processor board.

3.0 Operation
On the front panel there are 3 status LEDs
•Green: Power On
•Amber: Different flashing rate represent the operating modes
•Red: Fault Condition
When power is applied to the unit.
Amber and Red LEDs starts flashing alternately for 5-10
seconds indicating the initializing mode
If repeater is receiving data from at least one end device (gas
detector or Gateway) then Amber LED flashes rapidly a few
times every 5 seconds.
If there is no data communication with any device for at
least 30 seconds continuous, the Amber LED will flash once
every 5 seconds indicating no data is being redirected by the
repeater or no data traffic.
Red LED is flashes for any system Malfunction or Fault
When Zone is Changed via Blue Rotary Switch:
After about 10 seconds the Amber and Red LEDS light up
solid for 10 seconds and processor reboots itself in order to
initialize with new zone / network ID.
After Reboot initialization sequence starts as discussed
above.
