1. Thenumberofjetsarecalculatedbaseduponamaximumdistanceof25ft.from
blowertospa.Seesteps2through6belowforsizingblowersonspaswithairholesin
lieuofjets.Forspaswithairholesandjets,separateblowersarerecommended.
2. Allowancehasbeenmadeinthecalculationsforacheckvalveintheairlineorbuiltinto
theblower,whicheverapplies.
3. Forairholesinsteadofjetsadd1in.foreach10ft.of2in.PVCpipefromtheblower
tothespa.
4. Add.5in.foreach90°elbowinthe2in.PVCpipefromtheblowertothespa.
5. Add5in.forholesinseatandfloorPLUStheactualwaterdepth,whichismeasured
fromtheairholetothewaterline.ThisisnotTOTALSPADEPTH.
EXAMPLE: 15ft.airlinerun = 1.5in.
3elbows = 1.5in.
5in.+ 36in.waterdepth = 41.9in.
44.9 in. = 1.5 hp
6. Thenumberofholesinseatorfloororbothshouldequal1.6sq.in.offreeairspace.
Todeterminefreeairspace,usethetableprovided.Addnumberofholesandmultiply
byitssquarearea.
1/8 in. hole - .0123 sq. in.
3/16 in. hole - .0276 sq. in.
5/32 in. hole - .0192 sq. in.
1/4 in. hole - .0491 sq. in.
EXAMPLE: 60 each 1/8 in. seat holes - 60 x.0123 = .7380
30 each 3/16 in. floor holes - 30 x .0276 = .8280

7. Two45°fittingsinplaceofone90°elbowisrecommendedwhereveritispossible.
8. Foranyairlinerunover15ft.fromblowertospa,a12in.loopmustbeinstalledabove
thewaterlevelatthespatorestrictthewaterfrombackingallthewaytotheblower,
andtoavoidunnecessarybackpressurewhenthebloweristurnedon.
