Pentel Otenznero User manual

ABOUT ORENZ
Released in 2014, Orenz features
an innovative breakthrough known
as the “one-click anti-breaking
lead system”. It allows the user to
exerience comfort and continuous
writing without the need to
manually advance the lead or
encounter lead breakage even
when writing with a 0.2mm lead.
DID YOU KNOW?
Pentel is the only manufacturer
who has the capability of
producing 0.2mm lead, all thanks
to the eff orts put into the perfect
production since 1973.
Be the owner of ORENZNERO,
the ultimate mechanical pencil.
Mechanical pencil set to revolutionize writing!
Pentel produced the world’s fi rst retractable pencil
in 1960 and has been taking full advantage of our
technologies to develop the ultimate mechanical pencil.
After decades of research and development, we now
have the ORENZNERO. A mechanical pencil that comes
with not only the Orenz function, but a technological
breakthrough of “Auto-lead-forwarding” system.
GO TIMELESS WITH BLACK
The dodecagon body and matte black fi nish is
elegant and timeless. It has a low centre of gravity
for stable writing.
STORY
FUNCTION
1 CLICK, NON-STOP WRITING!
DESIGN Anti-breaking lead system
Lead support system protects the lead, so
you can enjoy writing longer.
Auto-lead-forwarding mechanism
Similar to the normal Orenz, you can enjoy
comfortable and continuous writing without
advancing the lead, but instead of the sleeve
retracting, it’s the lead forwarding that makes
it possible.
HOW TO CLEAR A LEAD JAM
(0.3mm ORENZNERO):
HOW TO USE
MASTER THE USE OF ORENZNERO
Click only once to advance the sleeve. No need to click repeatedly.
The protective sleeve will write without you actually seeing the lead.
1. Unscrew and
remove the nib from
the barrel by turning
it in the direction of
the arrow.
3. Insert the new lead from the top
of the sleeve and remove the
jammed lead.
2. To remove the jammed lead from
the pencil tip, use another piece of
0.3mm refi ll lead.
4. Screw the nib in the direction of the
arrow to set it back to the barrel.
When the remaining lead becomes too short, the sleeve will
automatically retract. To avoid a lead jam, clickseveral times until
the short pieces of lead are removed.
* If there is no reserve lead in the chamber, you will not be able to extract the
remaining short pieces by clicking. If you can’t remove the residual lead inside, follow
the instructions “How to clear a lead jam”. Do not click repeatedly to avoid the residual
pieces from being further jammed inside.
After inserting a new refi ll lead, click and press against a fl at surface
to place the slide sleeve back into the barrel. Please follow this
instruction so that the sleeve is safely stored inside.
* If you keep the sleeve out of the pen tip, it may cause malfunction, or breakage of
the sleeve and physical damage to other objects. Do not click with too much pressure
as it may protrude the lead from the pipe.
Every time you lift the sleeve from the paper surface, the lead is
protected by the advancing sleeve and forwards to its original position.
Precautions:
∙ To be used for writing and drawing only.
∙ Please be careful of the sharp pen tip.
∙ Do not put the cap, eraser and nib inside your mouth to
avoid suff ocation.
∙ Keep out of reach of infants.
∙ Dropping the pencil may cause malfunctions.
∙ Always retract the sleeve into the barrel when carrying them to
prevent damage of the sleeve or your other objects.
∙ Putting too much pressure while writing may leave a trace
mark on the paper.
∙ Please refer to “How to clear a lead jam” if the lead doesn’t
come out.
∙ Avoid pressing the sleeve during continuous writing as it will
aff ect the performance of the pencil (writing becomes harder).
Lift the pencil so it will recover back to its normal state.
∙ Exerting high pressure (over 450g) pulls the safety trigger and
retracts the sleeve automatically.
∙ Be aware that if you pull the lead from the sleeve, it can be
pulled out without any clicking motion.
Recommended Refi ll Lead:
Pentel Ain Stein refi ll lead 0.3mm (C273)
※ If the nib is slippery to turn, roll a rubber band over
the nib for grip.
