POCKET DENS
ONE
/PRESTO∆E
Zero on Paper in relative density mode:
Position the aperture on white paper and move the device over the aperture. The
display will show Zero Density. Press key while moving the device over the
aperture to force zeroing.
Measure Density:
Position the aperture on a solid patch and move the device over the aperture.
The dominant density will e displayed. Click key to display the secondary
densities. Press key while moving the device over the aperture to force a density
measurement of the actually selected color.
The color of the dominant density is displayed y a flashing LED for cyan, magenta
and yellow. In case of a Status T device all 3 LED's are flashing, when lack or
alance has een measured.
Measure Dot ain:
Measure the Solid density as descri ed a ove. Position the aperture on a ¾ tone
patch and move the device over the aperture. A Shadow dot gain value will e
displayed.
Position the aperture on a ½ tone patch and move the device over the aperture. A
mid tone dot gain value will e displayed.
Measure absolute Dot:
Measure the Solid density as descri ed a ove. Position the aperture on a tint
percentage patch and press the key down while moving the device over the
aperture. The a solute dot% is displayed.
Measure Density and Balance difference:
Measure the reference with key depressed. Measure the actual with key depressed. Click
through the colors with .
Measure Delta E2000
( only PRESTO∆E Version ):
Measure the reference with key depressed.
Measure the actual with key depressed.
Click through the colors with to see the corrections.
Configure Device
Press key down for at least 5 seconds to enter or exit the adjust mode.
A '~' in the LCD left top corner appears. Click Key to move through the setup functions ABS/
REL, CAL, Dot Gain on/off, ¾ tone reference, ½ tone reference.
Absolute and relative density:
Click key to toggle etween relative and a solute density. Stays
for ABS mode.
Absolute white Calibration:
Position the aperture on the a solute white reference. Move the device over the
aperture. The a solute density is displayed and LED of the actual color channel is
flashing. Click key to decrement density, Click key to increment density Click
key to select next color. Measure to exit cali ration.
Adjust Calibration:
Measure solid C,M,Y,K. The measured density is displayed and the LED is flashing.
Click key to decrement density, Click key to increment density, Click key
to save and exit density adjustment. Cali rate next color as descri ed.
Dot ain ON/OFF setting:
Click key to toggle etween dot gain function on and dot gain
function off.
Click key to decrement tint% ½ tone reference, click key to increment tint%,
click key to select ¾ tone. Click key to decrement tint% ¾ tone reference,
click key to increment tint%, click key to select next setting
Service Device
If BAT appears on the LCD, change the atteries. Open the attery cover and
replace atteries with 2 AA (LR6) 1.5V standard atteries.
Measurement time was too short. Keep device in front position until the
measurement value appears
The POCKET DENS
ONE
/PRESTO∆E casing can e cleaned with a dry cloth.

hardware and software. Future enhancements or modifications are reserved.

POCKET DENS
ONE
/PRESTO∆E is not intrinsically safe. Therefore the device cannot be used in an
environment with explosive vapors where there is a risk of spark ignition or in an area with
strong electromagnetic fields. It should be protected against chemicals corrosive vapors strong
mechanical vibrations and impacts
Use the POCKET DENS
ONE
/PRESTO∆E in ambient temperatures between 15°C(59°F) and 40°C
(104°F) and do not expose the to direct sun light.
The POCKET DENS
ONE
/PRESTO∆E should never be opened as there are no user-serviceable parts.
Doing so voids the guarantee. Contact your authorized dealer if repairs are necessary.
To avoid incorrect handling the POCKET DENS
ONE
/PRESTO∆E should only be used by trained
personnel
Use original PERET spare parts and accessories only.
Use the original packaging exclusively when transporting.
