The Terminator Mosquito Trap uses the most environmentally friendly methods in the market today and is safe for you and your environment. This Terminator
Mosquito Trap does not involve spraying pesticides, repellents, citronella, coils, or candles. These products do not involve the use of dangerous chemicals
known to be harmful to both humans and environment. The Terminator Mosquito Trap uses safe ways to catch and kill mosquitoes.
How it works
Female biting insects require blood to nourish their eggs. They get that blood from you, your family, your pets, and your friends. They track down hosts
by sensing the carbon dioxide, octenol (mushroom alcohol), moisture and heat from breath, body odours. Mosquitoes are also attracted to UV Light. The
Terminator Mosquito Trap creates a combination of those cues. This tricks the insects into thinking the Terminator is a host. Once the mosquitoes are
attracted to the exterminator, they are sucked into an enclosure by a powerful vacuum fan. Once trapped inside the Terminator, they quickly dehydrate and
die.
The Terminator Mosquito Trap works independently with these methods:
• Carbon Dioxide—is the primary lure used and is produced through by the Photocatalyst reaction of UV ray from the light source radiating onto a
panel coated with Titanium Dioxide (TiO2).
• CO2 Cylinder (optional)—The Terminator Mosquito Trap can be connected to a CO2 cylinder, which can be purchased from your local CO2 dealers or
welding equipment suppliers.
• Attractant—is a chemical produced by the human body and is sometimes referred to as “cow’s breath in a can” due to its smell. Mosquitoes seek
this scent to nd prey. The attractant emulates the human body odours and increase the catch rate up to 4 times. The attractant will last about 3-4
weeks.
• Heat—the human body gives off heat, so too does this Terminator Mosquito Trap mimicking human prey.
• Ultraviolet Light—mosquitoes are drawn towards ultraviolet light. The Terminator Mosquito Trap has an oscillating light to lure mosquitoes.
• Dark Colour—mosquitoes are lured towards dark colours. This Terminator Mosquito Trap has been designed to take advantage of this.
• Fan—when mosquitoes are lured and getting closer to the Terminator Mosquito Trap, the will be sucked into the catch container by strong vacuum.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your Terminator Mosquito Trap is designed to reduce the mosquito population. It may take several weeks of use to reduce the population
to a point that your mosquito problem is under control. Your Terminator Mosquito Trap is not designed to compete with humans in close proximity e.g. at
a barbecue, if you are planning an outdoor event you need to operate the Terminator for an extensive time before the event. It is advised that you run the
Terminator 24/7 during the height of your mosquito season to ensure you can enjoy your outdoor activities.
What to expect
While the Terminator Mosquito Trap will begin to catch immediately if there is any mosquito activity in the vicinity, it may take 6-8 weeks of use to reduce
local populations to the point that breeding cycles are interrupted. You may choose to discontinue use of The Terminator at this point but subsequent re-
infestation will occur after rain.

POSITIONING THE TERMINATOR MOSQUITO TRAP
A. Water/wetland
B. Wind direction
C. Distance between your house/terrace and the Terminator Mosquito Trap should be a minimum of 30ft
D. Placement of the Terminator Mosquito Trap
E. Terminator Lure Octenol scent
F. UV-light 360 degrees
G. House/terrace
• First determine the source of the mosquito nuisance: mosquitoes breed in wet areas such
as streams, marsh land, wooded areas and gardens.
• Place the Terminator Mosquito Trap between the mosquito sources and areas of human
activity. As far away from people and as close to the mosquito sources as possible.
Attention: Do not place the Terminator Mosquito Trap close to people as it attracts, not repels mosquitoes.
• Place the Terminator Mosquito Trap in a location protected from rain and strong wind. Upwind of the mosquitoes if possible.
• Place the Terminator Mosquito Trap in a predominantly shaded area. (It is very important to avoid direct sunlight) hang it close to the ground, not
higher than 120-150cm. The Terminator Mosquito Trap can be used indoors, but we strongly recommend not using the attractant as it will attract
mosquitoes from the outside.
MAINTENANCE
Clean Catch Container:
Empty the catch container when needed or at least once a week. The container will be found inside the Terminator.
NOTE: If there is large mosquito activity some Mosquitoes maybe freshly caught and won’t be dead yet. Simply spray a bit of Pestrol Insect Spray or other
Insect spray toward the top of the unit, close to the UV bulb. This will suck in the spray and kill any mosquitoes that are still alive.
• Turn off the power!
• Turn the catch container counter clockwise to release
• Empty the content and make sure the mesh around the container is clean to maintain proper airow
• Turn clockwise to install and lock back in place
• Turn on the power
If Fan Becomes Clogged
• Turn off the power!
• Remove catch container, see instruction above
• Gently use a small brush and a small amount of soap water to clean the blades
• Assemble the parts and turn on the power
Replace UV Lamp
• Turn off the power!
• Using Philips head screwdriver remove the 4 screws
• Disconnect the fan/switch connector
• Disconnect the UV lamp
• Disconnect the 4 lamp holders (grasp and turn gently inwards).
Snap off the lamp holders and attach new lamp
Troubleshooting
• If both the UV-tube and fan is not working: Make sure you have power all the way to your Terminator and that it is turned on.
• The fan is making a noise or is clogged: Clean as recommended in maintenance
• The fan is not working: Replace it with a new one. Please call Pestrol to order a replacement
• The UV-lamp is not working: Replace is with a new one. You can Pestrol to order a replacement
• The Terminator runs but does not catch mosquitoes: Move it to another location. Try it for at least a week every time you change its location. Pay
extra attention to our recommendations for how and where to place the Terminator
• Remember, it must be close to the ground 120-150cm, in a place calm or with no wind, close to bushes and well protected from rain and sunlight
