3 Get started
Caution

number of this apparatus.The model number and serial number
are on the bottom of the apparatus.Write the numbers here:

Install batteries
Note
You can use both batteries and AC power as power
•
supply of this apparatus.
Batteries are not supplied with the accessories.
•
1Open the battery compartment.
2Insert 6 batteries (type: R14/ UM2/ C-cells) with
correct polarity (+/-) as indicated.
3Close the battery compartment.

Connect power
Warning
Risk of product damage! Ensure that the power supply
•
voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the back
or the underside of the apparatus.
Risk of electric shock! When you disconnect the AC
•
power, always pull the plug from the socket. Never pull
the cord.
Note
Install the apparatus near the power supply socket and
•
where the power plug can be easily reached.
1Switch the voltage selector inside the battery
compartment to the local power line voltage.

2Connect the power cord to:

Tip
To switch the apparatus off completely, disconnect the

power cord from the power supply socket.

Note

Turn on
1Push the source selector to CD, FM or MW.
Turn off
1Push the source selector to OFF.

4 Play
Play disc
1Push the source selector to CD.
2Lift to open the disc compartment.
3Insert a disc with the printed side facing up, then close
the disc compartment.
4Press to start play.
To pause/resume play, press
• .
To stop play, press
• .
To select another track, press
• / .
To search within a track, press and hold
• / ,
then release to resume normal play.
For MP3 discs, press
• ALB +/- to select another
album.
Listen to the radio
Tune to a radio station
1Push the source selector to FM or MW.
2Turn TUNING to tune to a station.

Tip
Position the antenna as far as possible from TV, VCR or
•
other radiation source.
For optimal reception, fully extend and adjust the
•
position of the antenna.
Listen to an external device
You can listen to an MP3 player through this apparatus.
Note
When you connect an external device to
• MP3 LINK
jack, the apparatus switches to MP3 LINK source
automatically.
1Use an MP3 link cable (supplied) to connect MP3 LINK
jack (3.5mm) on this apparatus and the headphone jack
on an MP3 player.

5 Play options
Adjust volume
1During play, turn VOLUME to increase/decrease the
volume level.
Enhance bass
1During play, adjust DBB to ON/OFF turn on/off
dynamic bass enhancement.
Select play modes
Press MODE repeatedly to select different play modes.
• [REP] (repeat) – repeat a track.
• [REP ALL] (repeat all) - repeat an entire CD/
program.
• [SHUFFLE] (shuffle) - play tracks randomly.
Program tracks
You can program a maximum of 20 tracks.
For CDs:
1In CD mode, at the stop position, pressPROG to
activate the program mode.

2Press / to select a track number, then press
PROG to confirm.
3Repeat the above steps to program more tracks.
4Press to play the programmed tracks.
During play,»[PROG](program) is
displayed.
For MP3 discs:
1In CD mode, at the stop position, press PROG to
activate the program mode.
2Press ALB +/- to select an album.
3Press / to select a track number, then press
PROG to confirm.
4Repeat the above steps to program more tracks.
5Press to play the programmed tracks.
During play,»[PROG] (program) is
displayed.
To erase the program, press• .
To review the program, in the stop position, press
•
PROG.
