Call from the phonebook
1. Press ein idle mode.
2. Select a phonebook record you want to call.
3. Press :key to dial out the call.
Listen to messages recorded on the answering machine (for XL665 only)
Press oon the base station to turn on the answering machine (the message counter is
turned on).
Press oagain to turn off the answering machine (the message counter is turned off).
Press pon the base station to play phone messages (the first recorded message will be
played first).
Press ]to skip the current message and play the next message.
Press [once to replay current message.
Press [twice to go back to the previous message.
Press ,to adjust speaker volume during message playback.
Press fto delete the current message.
Refer to your new phone’s User Manual for details about the answering machine function.
ECO mode
The ECO mode reduces the transmission power of the handset and base station.
1. Press MENU.
2. Select
ADV. SETTING > ECO, then press OK to confirm.
3. Select the new setting, then press OK to confirm.
The setting is saved.
is displayed instead of in standby mode.
Note
When the ECO mode is activated, the connection range between the handset and the
base station can be reduced.

Problem Solution
• There’s no dialling tone! • Check the connections

Make a call
Dial the number (maximum 24 digits) and press :key.

Press :key to take the line and dial the number (maximum 24 digits).
Answer a call
When the phone rings, press :key.
End a call
To end a conversation, press :key.
Adjust earpiece volume
During a call, press Cor <to select from LEVEL 1 to LEVEL 5,
Store a contact in the phonebook
1. Press e.
2. Press OPTION. Select ADD. Press OK.
3. Enter the name of the contact (maximum 14 characters). Press OK.
4. Enter the number (maximum 24 digits). Press SAVE.
Your new record is saved.
Access the phonebook
1. Press ein idle mode and press Cor <to browse the phonebook.
Set the ring melody
1. Press MENU.
2. Select RING TONES > CHOICE. Press OK.
3. Press Cor <to your desired melody. Press OK.
The melody is set.

*You may find in the box the line adaptor delivered separately from the line cable. In this
case, you have to connect the line adaptor to the line cord first before plugging the line
cord to the line socket.
In multihandset packs, you will find one or more additional handsets, chargers with power
supply units and additional rechargeable batteries.
WARNING Always use the cables and batteries that came with your phone.

Place the base station in a central location near the telephone line socket and electricity socket.
2. Connect the line cord and the power cable to their corresponding connectors at the
back of the base station.
3. Connect the other end of the line cord and power cable to their respective sockets.

Remove the insulation foil Charge handset for 24 hours
Configure your phone (if necessary)
After installing the batteries and charging your phone for a few minutes, your phone
displays a Welcome message in various languages:
1. Press OK. Press Cor <to select your country.
2. Press OK to confirm your selection.
3. Enter the current date and time (hh:mm MM/DD/YY) and press OK to confirm.
Your phone is now ready for use.
